Edmonton Trades
Yakupov
Marincin
Fasth

Toronto Trades
Ashton
Gardiner
Reimer

Thoughts?

I think toronto adds mainly because of fasth, he won a pile of games for Anaheim last year and I think his stock is perceived by fans as much lower.No goalie in the league gets edmonton into the playoffs this year.

Fasth is a UFA after this year and Reimer is signed next season and isn't a UFA until 2016.
So that's still a plus for Edmonton.
Bigger gamble for the Leafs with Yakupov a RFA after this year and always a fear the KHL signs him, Marincin has potential but Gardiner is still a upgrade over him.
At the same time Yakupov has all the skill to be like Tarasenko on the Blues.
The Leafs will have to trade for a Vet DMan before or at the deadline to improve on more of a weakness after this trade.

Yakupov >>>>>>> Ashton
Marincin > Gardiner
Fasth =< Reimer

So why in the world would EDM do that?
They'd get more for Yakupov or Marincin alone.

4.) 27 Dec 2014
@Pinball, IMO the KHL is an unlikely option now. The Rubel is worth only half ytd.

Good trade for both trams

6.) 27 Dec 2014
Actually
Yakupov = Gardiner
Marincin = Ashton
Fasth = Reimer
Looks a lot different when you break it down the proper way doesn't it?

@Pinball: Are you freakin insane?

Marincin = Ashton? Really?? One of the Oilers best D prospects, a B prospect I'd say, for Askton, who's worth exactly nothing. Zero. Nada. That's SO far off, unbelievable.

Also, Yakupov is worth a whole lot more than Gardiner.

@pinball, you know it's wrong
