The leafs should give Nonis Phanuef back.

Anaheim - Phanuef

Leafs - Stoner, Nick Ritchie and a 3rd

Ritchie is a big dude that the leafs need since many of their top prospects are under 180lbs. Stoner is a salary dump. The 3rd pick should be a conditional where it turns into a second if the ducks make the playoffs.

What do you guys think?

Not bad, I'm not sure if Anaheim would want Dions full 7m contract considering the players they will need to sign in the coming years but this seems reaonable. Maybe a 2nd instead of the 3rd?

I would make these changes:

Instead of a 3rd add a 1st rounder.
Make the leafs eat up his salary. (try hard for 2.5m of eaten salary)

But again, the Ducks got Kevin Bieksa, and honestly. Now I don't even know who has more value because Phaneuf has a terrible contract. Bieksa play the same way as Phanuf but takes less salary.

Anaheim could DEFINTLEY use him. The west is so conptetitive and Dion is (like it or not) a complete defender who could play a #2 or #3 position greatly. But the leafs do need to retain 1 million and the pick becomes a second

The Bieksa trade almost certainly means they won't be going after a dman with a big contract. Look at their contract situation, they will regret trading Phaneuf with all there set to be free agents next year.

Thats a better return than they got for kessel. Not getting that for him

@vb. how so? Spallings contract is easier to move than stoners and Ritchie has as much promise as Kapenan. Both have promise and both could be a dud. Kessel was traded to the only team interested in him. Plus his attitude effected his resume. That trade wasn't a hockey trade. It was simply the only trade available. So we took it.
