Habs:Galchenyuk,DD and emeilin

Leafs: Nylander, bozak and 3rd 2016

Gives Toronto a future number 1 center while riding the Canadians of unwanted contracts and getting a future elite goal scorer

Habs: Smith pelley

Leafs: 4th

Rids Montreal of a bad contract but gives leafs a young player that showed potential to be a 2nd liner on Anaheim who is still young.

Mon:Gilbert and 1st 2016

Van: Hamuis

Gives the habs a top 2 defensman and gives Van a 1st Rd pick.

dream on leaf fan galchenyuk >> nylander
desharnais> bozak
Paid less younger and prove that he can play on the first Line

And emelin for a third I could live with that!

So This would be bether

Leaf: marner, 2nd and lupul

For Desharnais, emelin , chucky

That 2nd become a first if lupul don't play more then 50 game a year!

Horrible for Montreal.

Toronto already has a future #1 C (Marner)

I don't see why Montreal would trade DSP for just a 4th.

Change Gilbert to Tinordi and Canucks accept

1. Bad trade for Tor and Mtl

2. Potential to play on 2nd line for a 4th? How is 800 000 / 1 year a bad contract?

3. Habs need offence. Not more d.

the habs aren't that desperate to get rid of emelin that they have to trade galchenyuk

Take out galchenuk and nylander. Then ok

Nylander is way better then him

Torontos biggest mistake has been not developing their own group of prospects. With new management with a sensible mind set, it doesn't seem likely that Toronto will be trading players from their farm especially their elite ones. Regardless, galchenyuk is an exceptional talent and he should remain in Montreal. Both players are home grown and should remain with their original clubs.

The smith Pelly trade makes no sense either. Toronto has no room for another depth player. And moving a draft pick for a player who will be playing in the AHL is not smart for Toronto right now

DSP, bad contract?? he makes less $1M, perfect for 3rd or 4th line checker

Habs won't trade Gally, especially to the Leafs

that 1 year 800,000 contract of smith pelley really has handcuffed montreal lol

@draisaitl how is that a big lol how could you even go about proving nylander is better then galchenyuk.he hasn't played an nhl game yet so my answer would be right now galchenyuk is 100% better then nylander.will nylander eventually be better? maybe.but you or I or anyone else don't know that yet.just because you hate a player or a team doesn't make them bad players.

Um, I neither hate Galchenyuk nor Montreal.
I've said this countless times, that's a super stupid argument. McDavid hasn't played an NHL game yet, either. Is he better than Galchenyuk? Easily.
It doesn't really matter how many NHL games they've played, potential plays an important role in determining trade value and that's what I'm talking about.

Plus, where did I even say Nylander is better? I just stated that I think putting two >>'s between Galchenyuk and Nylander is laughable, because Galchenyuk hasn't really done super well yet, either and Nylander has at least the same potential.

It's ironic how I get attacked for defending a Leafs player on here, lol.

we all know what you meant you can sugar coat it all you want that's fine and potential is one thing but actually playing and holding down an nhl job is another.sure you can make a statement like I would rather have mcdavid then any nhl player but as of right now you can't say he is better.people like you I guess would have said alexander daigle brian Lawton and doug weickeneiser were better then everyone else as well.look I think nylander is going to be good and he's going to be better then galchenyuk is right now for sure but when someone is talking about them both right now which is what I assume the post was doing then it really wouldn't be laughable if they put 10 > by galchenyuk because right now he is way better this may change in a couple months. but who knows that?

Dude, you don't get the point.
This is a site about TRADE rumors which means when we talk about players it's about their TRADE value, not who is a better player right now (aka has played more NHL games in your universe).
Potential is a huge factor when it comes to trade value, that's why Nylanders TRADE value is at least as high as Galchenyuks, rather higher. That's why putting 2 >>'s between them is laughable. Easy as that.

reading the comments made me curious so I had a look at galchenuks stats. I wouldn't trade any hot prospect for a half a point per game player?. I can't recall something like that happening either actually, on any team. for toronto to even listen to an offer for nylander it would have to be pretty damn fine. something like galchenuk a 1st and a 2nd rounder and that would be a starter offer and even then I couldn't see that happening to a rival let alone pulling the trigger on that deal for a player that scored a point per in the ahl in his first half season in north america not to mention the kids pedigree etc. smith-pelly for a 4th is reasonable to a team that needs 3rd or 4th line depth near the trade deadline

yeah his TRADE value is about the same as galchenyuk you didn't need to say anything else
