More of an offseason deal

WPG: Pavalec, Stuart, Peluso, and a 2016 5th round pick.

DET: Howard (525 K ret), Smith, Jurco and a 2016 3rd rounder.

Can't see why Jets would want a goalie. Hellebyucks the new starter and looks like Hutch will be the back up or Eric Comrie once he reaches the NHL. See no need or use for Howard.

I don't think Mark Stuart has any benefit for Detroit. I don't see any benefit from Detroit's side other than cap space. Jurco is more useful than Peluso, I don't see Stuart as an upgrade over Smith. Personally I would prefer Hutchinson over Pavlec because he is a cheaper option.

Either way, I just don't see this deal happening.

@Datsyuk_Fan13 It has everything to with cap space. Detroit is going to put themselves in a whole if they keep going at this rate and Ken Holland has to get his head out of his butt and try and trade some of these guys with high cap hits.

I agree Holland has given some bad contracts and they need to get out of this whole but Detroit is giving up too much just to clear the cap space. Holland will find a way for the Wings to trade Howard's contact and maybe to a team with a bigger need for a goalie than Winnipeg. I was just saying Detroit is giving up some good young pieces just to get rid of a bad contract. Does not seem plausible in this case.
