It's a nice silver lining to one of the worst trades I have seen. Shows what an experienced GM can do with crappy pieces.

Leafs win, Kessel didn't perform in the reg season.

I get that you have compared the pieces used to acquire Kessel to compare them to what they are now. But stop this.

No Pens still get the best player easily.

I thought we already went through this? Chirp still hasn't gathered himself enough to bring back his hatred for leaf fans. I can't really answer your question because I myself don't know a lot about Kapanen or Rychel. I must say I'm impressed with how many people on this site that follow the young kids. I really only have the time to see them once they're in the NHL and I still don't recall seeing Rychel. Anderson looks like he's a solid goalie but he had a much better team in front of him.

There were additional pieces in the kessel trade and to acquire those players unless I'm mistaken.

So please stop. Kessel trade was awful still is.

Yeah shouldn't there be a couple 2nd rounders in there?

bud, you are joking right? who cares if kessel didn't perform great during the regular season they have a cup now, so pens win.

both teams won that trade. Pens got a solid goal scorer and Leafs got rid of contract (85%) Anderson and Kapanen/ Rychel is GRAVY.

That's like comparing Anderson, Kapanen, Rachel to Seguin, Hamilton, Knight. NJ.
