Edmonton cannot protect a 4th Dman in the expansion draft June 20th so cannot make a deal for a D-man until after the draft is done. IF there was no draft.

BrockWizKidDubas not a bad trade proposal but I don't think the Jets would want RNH and his contract or Yak whose value is dropping like a stone. If they were replaced by Draisaitl the Jets may do it, but Ed wouldn't.

As for K99 and his so called counter offer all I can say is thank goodness that in 2 weeks you'll be back in junior high and we won't have to listen to your immature and ridiculously pro-Ed trade proposals, if you can call them that, as often. You have lost any credibility that you had on this site.

Sorry, Respectfully disagree. you have made a big error in player evaluation. RNH is by far >> Sheiffle. RNH isn't moving unless an almost equal value player, young, with equivalent contract length is coming back. Jets have to add something else to Scheiffle to pry the Nuge, A future Selke winner, outta E-town let alone attain yak and Griffin who have tremendous potential.

Giving up the better defender in this pretend situation offsets the better center Edm sends to the Peg. 3 roster players for 2 needs additional comp going to Edmonton.

In our pretend situation of no Vegas draft. If I was Edm GM I'd say take it or leave it Winnipeg. Anything more from Edm is an overpay and it's worth just keeping the roster as is.

Now back to Realism. Vegas draft year.
Oilers are content with the current roster and don't lose a major asset to LV currently as they protect their 3 D they have. Peg is desperate to gain something from the Trouba asset before it gets plucked away for nothing. Edm Winnipeg trade involving Trouba is unrealistic unless Klefbom or Newly acquired Larson is in the mix from Edm's end so they can protect their newly aquired asset. Attaining a top 4 dman in trade for Trouba does nothing for Winnipeg as their in the same situation of losing a major asset come June 20th. Winnipeg needs to trade a Dman for a forward to a team that only has 2 top 4 dmen on the team. Suggest NJ or Toronto as being better trade partners for the Peg as they have an open Dman protection roster spot.

K99- you are really over valuing the Edmonton package. As was shown on a number of occasions on Hockey Night in Canada last year, Nuge is not good defensively especially off the cycle where he just consistently is outmuscled. He thinks the game well and works hard but he's played 5 years and is looking to be what he will be. He also makes $6 million a year and has only hit 20 goals once. I like him as a player but he is not as good as either Jet player in this proposal. My feelings about the other 2 are known. Reinhart was advanced developmentally at age 18 but is now not looking like he has much more to give beyond a third pairing role. Yak is a disaster. Put him with Mcdavid and he may score20 while being a liability. Play him with someone else and he's just a liability.

Yak and Reinhart has bust written all over them. They aren't their yet they have some years left to prove otherwise but neither will reach the elite status they were supposed to have. RNH is made of glass, hasn't stayed healthy and is getting overpaid for what he brings. RNH is a quality player but Scheifle has better stats and actually stays healthy, he's a lot stronger then RNH. You also can't say "a future selke winner" you can't predict the future. Trouba is already a top 4 defender and only getting better. Trouba is exactly what you would want but the mediocre package wouldn't even get him. They have no need for RNH, that would make Little their 3rd line center. they're loaded with centers and have no use for Reinhart who would end up in the minors. Yak is just Yak, but that 4th sure makes up the difference! Why on earth would Winnipeg move a 2nd in that deal.

Don't try to back up your trade with false claims of player value when they're unproven.

Granted Yak WAS a disaster early in his carreer with his defensive play. His game at the end of the season was vastly improved and it's worth Edm to keep him if everyone throws the blinders on and only looks at the first part of his NHL career. There is still potential if he plays his trade deadline last year till season's end type game. The Official pulling him down and giving him a high ankle sprain hampered him more than people know during the season mid point as that injury took quite a while to heal properly.

Reinhart is a slow developer, but has the size and smarts to be a good defensive D-man. No he won't light the lamp or get Norris consideration, but he'll keep the puck outta the net, clear opponents from the front of the net, and muscle most forwards off the puck along the boards. He needs a couple more years but he is young, and a decent prospect that will not be a bust. just needs a few more years to develop.

As for RNH, He is in the same mold as Bergeron who has won the Selke. It's apparent the black and white stats are all you're looking at with your assessment on his abilities. He is a great Datzyk type backchecker and skates as hard or harder back than on rushes into the zone. He unlike Scheiffle has played hard minutes against the other team's top lines and plays PP and PK effectively. He's a 3 on 3 and shootout specialist as well.
No he's not a big guy that hits to get the puck, nor should he be a hitter with his physical size. He does for a smaller guy have the heart to go in the corner against the bigger guys to try to get the puck unlike players like Little Johnny when he really should be letting the bigger guys deal with that. He fearlessly and unselfishly sacrifices his body to block shots. He's a team player and does everything asked of him regardless of his size. His injuries last year were a broken thumb blocking a slapshot on a PK, and getting into the corner first against a much bigger defencman to try to make a play and taking the elbow in the head sqashing his head against the glass.
A player like this is needed on every team to win.

Form your own opinions based on just the stats, but Edm and their fan base is content to let the world think as you do with his abilities. We know what he's really worth. and Sorry. it'll take a lot more than an average center like Scheiffle to pry him outta Edm.

K99 highly overrated Oil players but statistically Yak actually has gotten better defensively.
