Apparently according to Bob Mackenzie, Johnny Gaudreau contract talks are at a cold war and stand still. Calgary should suck it up, doesn't wanna pay more than the captain makes. He deserves way more than gio, sign the kid 7 x 7yrs. God damn. Move wideman to boston they are looking for a top 4 dman, then you should have more spending money. Calgary has terrible tactics.

Lol. Boston has to want Wideman and that $5.25M hit for one more year. And he has a NMC I just noticed, no clue the details on that, how many teams he can submit a list of or whatever. Funny how you would just assume Boston would want him. Who knows.
But Calgary management seems to be not wanting to budge from not wanting to pay him more than Gio. Seems they have principles and they want to stick to their guns. Interesting for sure.

Wideman has been linked to Boston since before the deadline last year. That is why. And they do have the cap room, they have close to $6mil available as of now. If they can't get Trouba, look for them to take a run at another dman, such as wideman.
