Tampa gets a cheap alternative to kucherov to fit all their young star under the cap, mtl is able to give kucherov 8mil/ year once they move emelin or send him elsewhere or in the ahl.

I'd personally rather take Kucherov but if you're a Habs fan would you really want to give that much up for a guy who may not even be a statistical upgrade over Patch?
