I know the Canucks need scoring desperately but I don't think Tanev is available honestly. As much as I like JVR just too much uncertainty for me personally with him becoming a UFA in 2 years. He's going to get paid big time. Not sure if the Canucks can afford him with the Term and Dollar we just spent on Erikkson.

They could 100% afford to pay jvr. His contract expires the same time as the sedin's after next season. And even until next year jvr and Tanev make the same at 4.5 mil.

Canucks are draft lottery team this year, why would they want JVR? they need to rebuild, dump older players for picks and prospects .

Canucks won't pull an "Oilers" and pad their forward group while diminishing their D core. Tanev isn't going anywhere unless it's in a package for a replacement Dman of higher caliber. Or he asks to be moved.

When canucks talked to Montreal about pk they wouldn't put Taney in the deal so doubt they would for jvr.
