Leafs need to make moves to trim roster:

players on bubble atm:
josh leivo
peter holland
seth griffith
ben smith
nikita soshnikov
frankie corrado
roman polak
matt hunwick (hopefully, unless babcock wants to keep him AGAIN)

Trade A:

Islanders Trade:
2016 4th Round Pick

Leafs Trade:
Peter Holland
Josh Leivo

*if the Isles are going to be benching a five-point Anthony-Beau, and a talanted Barzal, they should just send them back to the minors. This trade allows the Isles to bench Ladd if he continues to play poorly, as well as other veterans if they play the way they are. Why wouldn't the Isles just keep Beau&Barzal? Well, they probably will in real life, but from a leaf standpoint and the players standpoint, fourth line minutes/ press box minutes are less helpful to Barzy and Beaus growth. Holland and Leivo can be shuffled along and let go off at the end of the year, but even if it isn't this move, the Isles got to do something about their lines.

Trade B:

Colorado Avalanche Trade:
John Mitchell
2017 6th Round Pick

Toronto Maple Leafs Trade:
Matt Hunwick

*Before anyone gets onto me for this, Mitchell was waived today. Yes, it seems dumb for the leafs to take him, but really, he's just a contract/ cap who we can send down, and then call up if injuries come. Hunwick is servicable, as a bottom two player at best. However, Babcock plays him WAYYYY too much, and if Lou has sense, trade the guy before he comes back and Babcock outworks him AGAIN. Sad to see him go, but hey, if he doesn't find a team this offseason, maybe we can make him a defensive coach, or something. who knows.

Trade C:

Nashville Trades:
2017 3rd Round Pick

Toronto Trades:
Martin Marincin

I know its a sample-size of 10 games, but this guy has been pissing me of. too many giveaways, too many costly plays, too many sloppy defensive plays, too many times he lags his partner with him. THEN WHY THE **** WOULD ANYONE TRADE A 3RD FOR HIM?, you may ask. Well, he has good possesion numbers/ analytics, and that's literally driving EVERYTHING today in the NHL. He could be useful in a sheltered role for Nashville, who could send down worse defenceman such as Matt Irwin or Yannick Weber. Fine, maybe if he can't get a 3rd, its a 4th, but on a crystal clear sunny day, he gets a 3rd.

all in all, these trades may be onesided, but look at the trades. i'm not suggesting; Holland + Smith + Hunwick + 3rd for Crosby, Malkin, Kessel, Letang, Murray and a 1st.
Theyre just small trades that could help a little bit here and there, and importantly for the leafs, get rid of a bunch of contracts and avoiding the battle for roster spots.

Any other places that i could dump these players for minimal value? Thoughts on my ideas, as well as my trades?

So she is not a bubble player he is a leaf.

I think Holland and Corrado would clear waivers. I really don't think a team would trade a 5th or a 6th round pick for thoes players.

Leads add big time.

No way Marincin nets you a third round pick. He probably wouldn't even be claimed if he was waived.
