Habs : Pacioretty, 2nd
Avs : Landeskog

Habs : Beaulieu, Scherbak
Ducks : Theodore

Colorado gets a 30+ goal scorer on a great contract with a decent pick, both players get a change a scenery. Ducks acquire a puck moving defenseman who can help the team now as well as a great top 6 prospect.

Obvious no from Avs and Ducks.

How so? Pacioretty can put up the same numbers as Landeskog but can score more goals, cap hit at 4.5M for another 2 seasons after this one and Avs get a 2nd on top. Ducks clearly have no room for Theodore and keep sending him back to the AHL, they get a puck moving D whos already got NHL experience and can play top 4 with a great prospect whos specialty is scoring goals.

From Colorado the issue is Landeskog does so much more than score that even if he doesn't get 30 goals he defends etc. So much better than patches its not a move i'd make. And if Montreal trades Patches who scores their goals? I know they are off to a hot start but they don't have a lot of goal scoring on that team. Ducks have no cap space. If they don't have room for theodore they don't have room for Beaulieu. Also they have too many D to protect as is this won't solve that problem.

Why would you trade your captain when he's doing fine? Don't see Ducks trade happening.

Good point @jbs32 just figured that since they have Montour also waiting for a roster spot they could trade a prospect for an NHL ready defenseman.

And Pacioretty isn't doing fine. Not even close to his usual goal scoring pace plus he doesn't seem to be the leader we thought he was. he's been invisible for the most part this season.
