No from Calgary. They don't need goaltending enough to give up their captain and best defender. Even if he is 33. That is just my opinion though and if Calgary feels goaltending is a desperate need then it might be a different story.

I don't think Calgary is giving up Gio for a goalie or in general. They got two new goalies this year I think Calgary just needs them to pick up their play and not go for another one.

Why would u trade your Captain and top pairing defenseman for a guy who is a free agent at the end of the season? He could walk away and u get nothing. Gio is still a very good player, and a great Captain, but 2 - 3 years from now, when his play declines and the Flames are paying him huge money the Flames are going to regret signing him to this contract. Don't get me wrong, I love Gio. He's my favorite player. But decline at his age is inevitable. If they could deal him for something good they really should. Calgary's time is not now, it's in 2-3 years.
