I bet the Islanders are kicking themselves for trading Spezza and Chara for Yashin.
I bet Montreal is kicking themselves for trading McDonagh for Gomez
I bet Toronto is kicking themselves for trading Rask for Raycroft
I bet Philly is kicking themselves for signing Bryz to a terrible contract
I bet Columbus is kicking themselves for taking Filatov in the 2008 draft.

You can sit here looking at mistakes all day but you just need to remember that hindsite is 20-20

Great post by PCS! You can list an "I bet" statement on all 30 teams.

I bet Chuck Finley, the then-owner of the California Golden Seals, kicked himself after trading Francois Lacomb and his 1971 1st rd pick to Montreal for Ernie Hicke and Montreal's first round pick in 1970.

Using Montreal's 1st rd pick in the '70 draft, California chose Chis Oddleifson, who scored 95 career goals in the NHL. Using California's pick in the '71 draft, Montreal chose Guy Lafleur 1st overall.

And the rest is history. Ever since then, teams have been kicking themselves over bad decisions.
