1. Toronto Keeps Dion Phaneuf, Pairs him with Dan Boyle

(he needs a defence partner to take the load off, The problem is Randy uses him as a shea weber type and he's not, Trading phaneuf for nothing would make no sense expecially when you look at the hole it would leave. Its easy to pin all the leafs problems on him but their problems go much deeper. Put phaneuf in a position to succeed by giving him less ice and a better partner.

2. Leafs trade kadri, gardiner, 1st FOR FLA 1st, ed jovenoski. ***Draft Ekblad

(jovenoski comes over as a salary dump, doubt he even plays, FLA takes the best offer they receive for the 1st overall pick)

3. Leafs trade franson to wings for prospects.

4. Leafs resign bolland 5 years-5 million per

5. Reilly and Ekblad are paired together on defence.

6. JVR and kessel both score 40+ goals

7. Biggs is cut/traded

8. Clarkson has a bounceback year scores 20 goals as the 2nd line right winger

9. Bernier continues to florish

I love all these predictions except I don't think we need to take back Jovenoski the rest is enough.
Phaneuf has been so much degraded I think his best spot may be to stay in Toronto.

Bold is right I doubt many come true for instance doubt both jvr and kessel score 40 goals. Also doubt clarkson gets 20 goals that only happens if he plays both pp units basically.

Even in your fantasy you still give a ridiculous contract to a 3rd line center. 5years 25mil for bolland. is there another team in the league who would even think about giving a bottom 6 forward 5mil a year?

^ lots of team giving bottom 6 players large salary contracts. they may play a top 6 role, but are generally miscast

As for Bolland, I would to pay him a cent over 4 million and that's only if Toronto doesn't have other options.

4 mil for 2 years not 5 and guess what as much as you might think they won't i'm sure they could trade briere at the deadline for a 2nd or a 3rd
