If Pittsburgh is ready to part ways with Guentzel this would be more getting Liljegren in a transaction like this Bertuzzi isn't a bad replacement for Guentzel as well.

For The Leafs this improves LW getting Guentzel for there playoff run over Bertuzzi and the sacrifice is Ruhwedel over Liljegren getting Guentzel.

No, Bertuzzi isn't a bad replacement for Guentzel, he is a horrible overpaid salary cap dump one! And Liljegren is 24 years old, and in 10 years he has a chance to be 34.

Of course Pitt should trade a 40 goal scorer for these two stiffs to help Toronto out.

There's just no need to do it. Bertuzzi has under performed statistically, but to say he's been awful is a stretch and half. He's had good games and bad games like everyone does and imo the systems Keefe runs do not suit a guy like Bert.

As for the trade, after seeing what Lindholm and Monahan got, Guentzel is going to get a tonne back in return for the Pens should they decide to deal him. Far more than we are going to be able to offer. Even if we could pay the price he'll fetch, are we willing to do it for a rental? Cause there is zero way we'd be able to afford an extension with him as well.

I think our forward group is set unless we can add a 4th line guy who can also kill penalties if need be and can hop up into the 3rd line if injuries happen in the top 9. I think our defense is going to look different after the deadline or even before. With any luck maybe our goaltending situation will improve as well.

I’m sorry but the bertuzzi isn’t a bad replacement for Guentzel take is blasphemous. bertuzzi has 21 points in 51 games vs 52 points in 50 games while being on a worse team. Only use I see bertuzzi in Pittsburg id hed win a lot of beauty pageants.

A 1st and knies or a top end prospect Cowan is the only one that comes to mind or pittsburg slams the phone.
