TOR: Nylander, Holl, and Sandin
MIN: Dumba, Boldy, and a 2nd or 3rd

TOR: Brodie
DAL: Hakanpaa and a 3rd or 4th.

MG69

1.) 05 Aug 2022 17:17:14
Brodie > Dumba
Holl >= Hakanpaa + 3rd
Nylander > Boldy
Sandin >= 2nd, 3rd & 4th

How bout Nylander + Holl + 2nd RD Pick FOR Boldy + Jost + Dumba (/ or Kulikov but take out the 2nd)

2.) 05 Aug 2022 18:10:48
I don't have Brodie over Dumba. Similar stats last year and Dumba played far less games. I'd prefer Hakanpaa simply because he uses his size effectively. He blocks shots and throws the body just as much or more than Holl. Sandin isn't going to crack the lineup with who they have on the left side. Nylander puts up more points than Boldy yes, but I'm taking Body's two way play all day and twice on Sunday. In 47 games he put up 39 points as a 21 year old. He's got great potential offensively on top of being more responsible on the defensive side than Nylander.

3.) 05 Aug 2022 18:44:02
Except Brodie is MUCH Better Defensively, especially & surprisingly on the PK

Hakanpaa is Definitely Bigger & More Physcial, Cheaper too, but he won't help with Scoring much and I don't see DAL wanting to lose one of their FINN's. Giordano can play RD or Kulikov can if they go that way

Definitely agree with Nylander to MIN for Boldy+. MIN needs a RW to replace Fiala & a Right Shot Sniper would be ideal for their PP. Need $$$ going back though, hence why I included Dumba and Swapped Jost for Holl

Bunting-Matthews-Marner
M. Boldy-Tavares-P. Kessel
Kerfoot-Kampff-Jarnkrok
Engvall-T. Jost-Aube-Kubel
Scratch: Gaudette or Simmonds

Reilly-Brodie
Giordano-Dumba
Muzzin-Liljegren
Scratch: Sandin & Benn (to shelter Gio & Muzz's TOI)

4.) 05 Aug 2022 19:07:16
I can live with what you proposed. Dumba isn't awful on the defensive side and was looking at it that Hakanpaa replaces the defense we lose with Brodie. We won't be able to trade Muzzin I don't think and I like I said Sandin isn't going to crack the lineup. He's gonna be frustrated being in the press box. And I think Muzzin will get frustrated if he's healthy scratched too much. I think it's best to cut ties with Sanding now. What do you think of Nylander, Holl, and Sandin for Dumba, Boldy, Jost, and a pick? I think it equals out money wise and each team comes out with some good pieces.

5.) 05 Aug 2022 19:30:53
Sure! That works too. TOR does have Veteran Jordie Benn who happily accepts being the 7th D-Man at this point in his career

We have the exact same problem with Jusso Valimaki. I think both he & Sandin would flourish on a Team that can give them more TOI, like Adam Boqvist did in CLB

Dumba is fine at Even Strength, but he's not Great on the PK.

03 Aug 2022 16:44:07
TOR: Nylander
MIN: Dumba & Boldy

TOR: Holl & a draft pick
CGY: Dube

TOR: Muzzin
NYI: Bailey

Just some ideas. More could be added to each or maybe I'm way off.

MG69

1.) 03 Aug 2022 17:16:39
TOR shouldn't get rid of their Size on the Back End by moving Muzzin & Holl IMO, especially since they're TOR's Top-2 PK D-Men.

I'd swap Brodie for Dumba, might need a Sweetener on top though

Dube will start producing the same numbers as Bunting here pretty soon, especially with Better Line Mates and more PP time, like Bunting gets

CGY is more interested in Players who can help them now as opposed to Picks. Kerfoot @50% retained + Holl? Problem is they will both want more money to re-sign (Kerfoot/ $4-5mil + Holl/ $3-4mil), so CGY wouldn't be interested. Dube for Timothy Liljegren is far more realistic IMO.

2.) 03 Aug 2022 18:05:02
I think the middle proposal is the best. can't see Minny giving up 2 players for Nylander. if you value him that high, why not keep him?

3.) 03 Aug 2022 18:13:29
Holl isn't bad but Calgary already has at least 7 better defensemen.

Andersson
Hanifin
Weegar
Tanev
Zadorov
Kylington
Mackey.

4.) 03 Aug 2022 19:22:08
@balsam8 I don't value him that high. Minnesota might though with Kaprizovs status up in the air.

5.) 03 Aug 2022 20:07:58
@TrevorA I'm not a big fan of either Muzzin or Holl simply because IMO they don't use their size nearly as much as they could. Dumba plays more physical and I feel given the right chance could produce more. With Kaprizov's status up in the air with his potential legal issues back in Russia I feel like Minnesota may overpay for a player like Nylander to fill that potential void. Bailey and Taveras have had success together in the pas, maybe they could again.

Me personally, I would be fine retaining on Kerfoot in a trade to get Dube and maybe a draft pick as well.

I'm comfortable running d-pairings of:

Rielly-Dumba
Gio-Brodie
Sandin-Lindy
With Benn as our 7th dman.

6.) 03 Aug 2022 21:31:29
Muzzin is decent, getting older and having injury/ concussion issues; but is still throwing 2+ Hits Per Game

Holl threw almost 2 HPG this season & isn't afraid to Block Shots, but now that I've analyzed it further @MoxNix is right, Holl would be a Downgrade for us, especially on the PK

Dumba is More Physical + will Score More Goals than Brodie, but he's not Very Good on the PK. Brodie is actually Very Good on PK + isn't afraid to Block Shots either. I'd stick with Brodie & Holl over Dumba, it's not worth shaking up the Team Chemistry or the additional cost IMO.

I also don't believe Kaprizov will have an issue getting back to MIN. I'd Trade Holl for a 3rd or Bottom-6 Depth Guy & Sign Toronto Born PK Subban for.

7.) 03 Aug 2022 23:09:35
You won't be getting Dube and draft pick for Kerfoot. If anything it'll cost a pick to get someone to take Kerfoot.

8.) 03 Aug 2022 23:09:47
Yeah no chance at all do I swap Muzzin for Bailey. I want nothing to do with him or that contract and I’m sure no team does.

9.) 03 Aug 2022 23:38:17
BTW Kaprisov was back in North America yesterday. You can bet on it he won't be returning to Russian anytime soon.

PIT: Jarry
ARI: Domi

Just a base for a trade. Arizona gets a good young goalie. Pens add a young top 6 winger.

MG69

1.) 05 Feb 2018 19:31:28
I'm aware that more would be involved likely from the Pens side because Jarry's numbers are good, but it was a small sample size.

10 May 2016 18:57:35
PIT: Fleury and Bennett
DAL: Niemi or Lethonen, Nichushkin, 2016 1st if it is retained if not then 2017 1st

MTL: Eller and 3rd
EDM: Yakupov

TOR: Harrington and a 3rd
PHX: Dvorak.

MG69

1.) 10 May 2016 19:26:43
Not enough for Yak, it's not Phoenix anymore but no from them. And Dallas would have to retain some money on one of those goalies for it it work.

2.) 10 May 2016 19:29:48
I like the oilers/ montreal trade, but I think yaks value is lower than what you said to get in return. Maybe yak for eller straight up or Edmonton adds. But realistically oilers don't need/ want eller and he doesn't want to come here to.

3.) 10 May 2016 19:49:49
Yak wouldn't fetch a late second rounder much less Eller and a third. Furthermore, Eller is a much better player defensively and an excellent puck possession player. Two qualities Yak doesn’t have.

4.) 10 May 2016 20:25:21
Umm, just saying Montreal has very low scoring, and it might be worth it for them to take a chance with yak, because him an chucky played on the same team before, so they have chemistry.

5.) 10 May 2016 21:48:06
The chemistry they had while playing in the junior league is long gone. Those are two different players in the NHL. Thinking that they might get that chemistry going makes no sense at all.

Yak will be traded for sure but for much less than some might think. If with Montreal, I am guessing with an NHL ready young D. at the most.

6.) 10 May 2016 22:11:58
stole my dallas pitts trade idea.

7.) 10 May 2016 22:33:04
I'd cry if we got Eller back in a Yak trade. But I do have to agree I'm probably going to be disappointed in his return.

8.) 11 May 2016 02:11:43
I think we will all be surprised at the return for Yak. Actual NHL GMs don't hold so much hate like us fans do and they know he is still only 22 and few short years removed from being selected 1st overall. The return will be better than Eller and a 3rd or just a late 2nd rounder.

29 Feb 2016 18:46:30
TB: Drouin, Carle, and a 1st
WPG: Trouba and a prospect or depth roster player.

Jets get a top prospect who would benefit from a change of scenery. A serviceable top 4 dman to pair win Myers and a first in this year's draft. Bolts add a right handed dman to move forward with and a depth player or a prospect.

PIT: Klinkhammer and a 1st
EDM: Perron
* You really dropped the ball on this MacT. Your loss is the Pens game. Wooooooooooooo!

MG69

1.) 02 Jan 2015 18:55:03
is perron really worth more than a 1st?

sure he had one good year last year, but this year he's back near his career norms which is far from top line quality. however, he'll be playing wih sid or malkin i'd assume so that will definately inflate his numbers.

2.) ^ it's likely going to be a late first (like 26-30 late). Compared to what Perron can bring to the Pens over the next two seasons, it's worth it to them.

3.) Nobody will know who wins this trade for at least 3-4 seasons .

4.) @steamer

If Pitt makes the cup final in either of the next two seasons (even if Perron is a minimal contributor), they will feel they won that trade.

5.) Yeah but they could have traded for every similar Player like Perron is and would win the trade. BC everyone of the "caliber" of Perron scores 30 with Sid.

This is definitely believable. I'm a fan of Robertson so it would be tough to see him go. However got to wonder if the Canucks would be interested with him being injured and whether he's able to finally take the step to being effective in the NHL and if his shoulder heals accordingly. Kuzmenko on the Leafs would be ideal though lol.

That's debatable Ebsolutely. All depends on the quality of the UFA and if the team trading is already stocked with prospects or if they are tight on the cap.

Again. I doubt Holl waives his trade clause to go to a non contending team. Kuzmenko alone is likely going to fetch a 1st, a decent to good prospect, and likely another draft pick. His cap hit is under a million. So any contending team that has limited cap space will likely be in on him. He's a great secondary scoring option. We watched Chiariot fetch a 1st last year so I wouldn't be shocked in the least if Schenn gets one this year. Woll has been great at the AHL level but the goalie market is not great this year so he doesn't hold a tonne of value. Rather the Leafs hold onto him in the event Murray or Samsonov get hurt. McMann doesn't carry a tonne of value either. Id love to see the Leafs get Schenn, but I bet the asking price is ridiculous for him.

Doubt Holl waives his no trade clause to play for Vancouver. Not when the Leafs are in a better position. Vancouver may be looking to unload guys but they are going to get a lot for each of them individually come the deadline that will be be better than what they get from the Leafs here.

Great first deal. Could definitely see it happening. That second one though won't do it. Canucks may be trying to unload them, but they also aren't going to get low balled for them. Horvat and Boeser will both likely fetch a first rounder, decent level prospect or roster player, and another draft pick if salary is being retained. Horvat at $2.9mill would probably cost an additional 2nd rounder, maybe even a 1st and Boeser at $3.3mill (with a few more years left on his contract) isn't going to be cheap either. probably an additional 1st rounder.

All pretty realistic. Martin will probably make his way back home to Minnesota though. He is up there in age and wouldn't be surprised if he wants to go back home and finish his career there.

Stewart could probably be had. Big, throws bombs, hits, and can pot one every now and than. High cap hit, would be gone to FA at end of the season.

@Draisaitl_94 I see Erne being that guy for you guys. Decent size and can score. I can see him becoming that 3rd liner who agitates, hits, and scores for you guys.

Honestly believe the Leafs or Yotes are going to be picking 1st. Leafs won't win the draft but I wouldn't be surprised if Nonis made a huge trade for 1st overall. Yotes are right near the bottom and I see them continuing to do terrible once you trade away guys like Vermette, Hanzal, Mikaleck, and Yandle.

So you punish a player for doing absolutely nothing? So say Price wasn't already hurt and Tokarski speared a guy and got suspensed with your logic that would mean that Price would be gone for however many games. Or Weaver and Emelin got a suspension than Markov and Subban would have to serve the suspension? Rats will be rats and with the extinction of enforcers nothing will get done to stop it. Bottom line your idea is absolutely stupid.
