Not going to happen lol. If for some reason it did though, your lines are just wrong lol. Malkin would get moved to LW and likely ride shotgun with Crosby and Demidov moves to RW with them. Newhook or Bolduc are your 3C, the other your 3LW.
But let's come back down to reality and realize Crosby likely only moves at the deadline but the odds are more likely he stays with the Pens and finishes his career as a Pen. Pens will need to rebuild eventually, but there is a tonne of value in learning under Crosby. Hell you can see it in Celabrini just from skating with him for the Worlds and in the offseason.

Buffalo Trades
Tuch
Toronto Trades
NRobertson
Hildeby (AHL)
Danford (OHL)
Leafs will have to shed some Cap unless Buffalo will retain some salary on Tuch's expiring contract, but where Buffalo is and where Toronto is this proposal makes sense for both teams imo.

If Tuch was to be officially on the market there would be significant interest. Zero chance BUF would bite on this offer. The player and the team seem happy together for the moment, but if that changed, Tuch would command a sizeable return.

Teams can't expect to get a very good player from teams for bottom six players and unproven AHL ones. The Leafs would have to give up Cowen and a #1 pick, if they had one, to get the Sabres to even consider a trade for Tuch.

Maybe if Tuch says he only wants to go to the Leafs, otherwise we don't have the pieces to compete with most teams to get him.
Idk why you are so eager to trade Danford tho. Our defense is on the older side. He plays a simple game like Tanev. He's a righty. I'd rather hold on to him.
Robertson is what he is. He'd be a throw in on this deal and throw ins don't move the needle.

Sharks Trade
Toffoli
Leafs Trade
Domi
McMann
Kampf
Any player with a NTC/NMC will have to waive to complete this trade proposal.
Leafs get a very serviceable RWinger to replace Marner, as well as downsize the forwards currently on the roster as there are too many, Leafs add 1.5 million in this proposal for more Cap Space.
Sharks a team looking to add some veterans to this young very talented group they are building, this 3 for 1 adds much needed depth as well.

- Toffoli is a 30 goal scorer in each of the last 3 years, so he’s definitely better than serviceable.
- by all accounts he’s been a great vet in SJ, and has really taken to his role. He seems to enjoy it there, and if he’s going to waive, it would only be to go to a team with a legitimate shot at a Cup.
- SJ is looking to play more kids. Why would they want to block 3 development paths like this? Also, where’s the picks or prospects any rebuilding team needs to have?
- Quantity ≠ Quality, and it never will.

If habs believe that dach will finally become the player they hoped and that laine will be his best version yet ( if so .. need to resign asap at a reasonable cap) I have a proposal that might be interesting for both parties
MTL sends : Matheson Mesar and a 3rd round pick
To devils for : dougie Hamilton
Guhle Dobson
Hutson Hamilton
Xehjaj carrier
Struble reinbacher
Engstrom

Mesar isn't moving the needle on a trade anymore. His development has become stagnant. And Hamilton is a big part of that Devils dcore so I don't see them moving him.
Habs are fine how they are. They keep building smartly they will be a force in 3 years or so. They do need Slaf to take a big, big step this year. Even if his production stays the same they need him to a force when he's battling for the puck, throwing hits, blocking shots, and taking lanes away with his size.

This doesn’t seem like a necessary move at all.
There is such a thing as too many moves, and there is value in taking the time to see what you have, what needs may present themselves, and what remedies might be available in the trade market.
I’m all for starting the season and making wise use of available cap space based on need and opportunity.

Hamilton and Dobson provide the same play style offensively (a great shot from point and ability to find the net which is a massive compliment to Lane Hutson who is a unreal QB but has a weak shot) but Dobson imo is significantly better defensively and is less injury prone. Hamilton is the last player the Habs need.

Well the season is just about here..YEAH!
Thought I would lay out a funny scenario, where Crosby gets traded at the trading deadline to the Montreal Canadians.
HOWEVER others get traded and they come up with this 2nd line which Crosby centers.
Imagine the announcers having to pull it off in French, and English. Cheers to the new season.
Crosby to Montreal for:
Kirby Dach -3.4m
Jake Evans -2.9m
Ty Smilanic -signing rights
Jayden Struble- 1.4m
2026 1st
2027 2nd
Habs trade:
D.Reinbacker -887k
2026th 7th round
2028 5th
to DUCKS for:
J. Biakabutuka - 825 K
Habs trade:
Luke Tuch -913K
2027 6th
for:
R. Kumpulainen -866K
New Lines
Caufield- Suzuki - Demidov
Hutson - Dobson
Florian Xhekaj-CROSBY-Kumpulainen

Which trade out of these makes more sense for habs ( I believe by the state of these team these are fair trades)
1- habs make a splash
Montreal sends : Hage , engstrom ,Roy and both 2026 2nd rounders
To ducks for : McTavish ( bridge him 3x5 per or make room for a long term 7.5 per)
2- habs trade with rival to add a stop gap 2c until hage is ready
MTL sends: struble and ( kapanen or beck)
To Boston for : Zacha
3- habs add a veteran proven winner 2 c stop gap for hage
MTL sends : ( beck or kapanen) a 2nd and 3rd round
To Nashville for Ryan oreilly
4- habs make a smaller scale splash for 2c
MTL sends : matheson and 3rd round
To Seattle for Jared McCann

I am happy with the current roster. The additions of Dobson and Bolduc a long with depth peices like Valeno and maybe even Blais are going to help. Obviously Dach is the wildcard in alot that happens this season. I'm excited to see what the Habs have.. another year of growth, Gonna be fun to see how it goes !

I agree with Sosa.
Leave the lineup as-is until some teams drop out of contention on or before the Trade Deadline. They built the cap space to have the flexibility to make whatever becomes necessary to do. No need to rush things till they see what they have and what needs present themselves.

Montréal trades for Crosby, this proposal I feel is fair or at least a start
MTL sends : Dach , kapanen, engstrom, mesar and ( both 2nd round 2026 or 1st round 2026 top 10 protected)
Pitt sends Crosby
Habs get to keep hage , reinbacher and fowler making their draft picks expendable

Slafkovsky Crosby Caufield
Demidov Suzuki laine
Gallagher Newhook Bolduc
Flo xehjaj Evans. Anderson
That’s a scary forward unit for any team

Dubas probably bites tbh, but that's because he has poor asset management abilities.
If the Habs are in a good spot come the deadline then it will cost them less IMO as I think Crosby would only waive to the Avs or the Habs and the Avs don't have the pieces the Habs do to make a deal happen. But I still think we are more likely to see him stay with the Pens.

I tend to agree with MG, as usual. Crosby would be a great addition to any lineup, but the Habs would do better at the deadline to add a less expensive 2C if it is necessary to do so.
The Habs have built great asset depth, but it’s tough to lose so much, even for Crosby, for a couple of years.

If mctavish is a no go , habs should inquire about Anton Lundell…. Imo Lundell is a perfect fit for 2 c , he plays a 200 foot game and put up 45 points centering a 3rd line , so that number should go up playing on the 2nd line with demidov and laine
MTL sends hage and a 2nd round mtl
To FLA for lundell
Habs trades with rangers for Lafrenière
MTL sends Matheson and 2027 1st round
To nyr for Lafrenière
Slafkovsky Suzuki Caufield
Demidov lundell Laine
Lafrenière Newhook Bolduc
Anderson Evans Gallagher

Habs send : Kirby Dach , 2nd round (Columbus) , 3rd round , Sean Farrell

Because Florida is 4.5 million over the cap and by the new playoff cap rule they won’t be able to activate tkatchuk without a trade . I know habs don’t want to trade hage .. but for a 23 yr old cost control 5yrs 5million legit 2 c , I think they should do it ! I personally value more hage than a 2026 15-25 1st round pick but I think Florida does too

From how I read it the lineup just has to be cap complient. I do think Florida is going to have to get creative and may need to move some guys out; but that's why they pay someone the big bucks to do so.
As for the trade Lindell isn't going anywhere. Florida looking to 3peat this year and Lindell is a big part in rhat potentially happening.
Habs should just ride it out with their roster. Goaltending is still meh in the grand scheme. There's hope for Dobes to have continued success and Monty to take another step. Goalies are so hot and cold tho so we shall see. But Dach or Bolduc could take that 2C spot and run with it out of camp and into the season. Demidov could get some looks at 2C as well. No need to make a trade involving any 2026 1st until the deadline where they can see where they are at in the standings.
Last year's playoff appearance was ahead of schedule for the Habs. And they shouldn't look to get of course because of it. Hughes has the chance to make them great again if he builds the roster properly and players develop as they should.

I tend to agree with MG. Why not see what you’ve got and accumulate more cap space for a deadline deal, if needed and warranted? There may be a hot deal to swoop in on, especially for teams that took care of their cap situation early?
