Canucks trade Boeser, Brisebois and a 7th rounder(25), to Montreal for Armia, Barron and a 4th(24),

Habs get some much needed offensive, as well as a useful depth depth defenseman.

Canucks get a useful bottom 6 player with some size, plus a young right shot defenseman.

1.) 16 Aug 2023 17:04:45
- the exchange of value is fair, but I'm not sure the fit is right for MTL.

- I personally wouldn't give up Barron, since I really like the kid's game, progression, and size.

- Brisebois is a LD, and MTL is loaded the left side. (Matheson, Guhle, Xehkaj, Harris, and Norlinder. )

- Boeser is a worthy piece, but is only 2 years away from unrestricted free agency, and therefore isn't the right age for a rebuilding team.

2.) 17 Aug 2023 17:05:13
Have to agree with Chicken on this one, I lean more towards Barron's potential than his progression. But there has been some growth in his game.

Canadiens trade Joel Armia and 1 of 2024 3rd round picks
Canucks trade Conor Garland.

1.) 19 Jul 2023 23:14:10
I can see reasons why each team would pass.

- Garland is more productive, but has 3 years left at 1.5M more per season.

- Armia, though less productive, is less expensive, and is off the books organically in 2 years.

- I think a more likely scenario is that Armia, who is a big body guy who played a steady role in the MTL run to the Finals, gets traded at the deadline for an unspectacular return provided MTL retains 1M+.

2.) 22 Jul 2023 04:03:25
Personally rather keep Armia than have Garland.

3.) 24 Jul 2023 21:27:46
Armia I've heard buyout talk. I think vancouver would like to clear garlands whole contract without taking back another one they can't afford.

Rangers trade Bar lay Goodrow and a 4th round pick to Canucks for Brock Boeser. Canucks retain 1 million on Boeser.

Rangers get a shooter for their PP, Canucks get a player that can help kill penalties and provides some grit.

1.) 17 Jul 2023 13:29:29
I REALLY like Goodrow, but this trade just isn't even close.

On a decent team, and given that Boeser is a year away from his statistical prime, Boeser is close to being a 30-goal scorer.

Goals aren't everything, but Goodrow's high was 13 goals, and that was 2 seasons ago.

Goodrow is a big body who looks great in playoff battles, and he's much more defensively reliable than Boeser. But he and a 4th just don't move the needle in getting a player like Boeser.

2.) 19 Jul 2023 13:25:54

If Boeser could get anything moe/ better than what was proposed, that would be a bonus for Canucks. He is a slow, non-physical, one-dimensional and soft player, that is in Abundance with the Canucks.
A player like Goodrow would be a welcome addition in Vancouver.

3.) 21 Jul 2023 14:36:24
RENIDRAG: I can't really add to what I said previously. I just don't see the value fit for this trade, and neither can anyone else by the look of it.

06 Jul 2023 12:08:14
William Nylander for Tyler Myers.
Toronto gets a towering right shot defenseman, that can play in there top 4,as well they receive some much needed cap relief.
Canucks get another Swede to join the many others they have in their organization.

1.) 06 Jul 2023 13:10:19
- VCR is already over the salary cap by 3.2M, and this trade would make it 4.2M.

- leafs are 8.8M over the cap, and need to sign a starting goalie.

2.) 07 Jul 2023 05:30:49
Nylander’s worth way more

3.) 07 Jul 2023 14:48:05
Assuming Muzzin gets placed on LTIR we are in theory only over 3.2mill or so. Obviously some work still needs to be done. I suspect it's a 1st and Murray for Future Considerations to clear that contract. And then Nylander for a RHD. After that should be enough to sign Samsonov to a one year deal most likely. Lots of time left in the summer to go but Treliving is gonna have to get creative with his trades and we (Leafs fans) are gonna have to accept we aren't going to get the best return on some trades to get under the cap.

4.) 07 Jul 2023 15:49:09
Rumour is Murray will be heading Robidias island ( LTIR )

Edmonton trades McDavid to Toronto for Matthews and the late 1st this year.

McDavid gets to play for his home team that is full of playoff chokers, while Matthews gets to play for a team that is also full of playoff chokers

1.) 27 May 2023 14:43:37
Haha, I know its a joke post because that would mean Mathews is in the same realm as McDavid.

2.) 27 May 2023 16:18:41
That wouldn't/ shouldn't even get

3.) 27 May 2023 17:43:26
McD is a much better player then Matthews so this trade proposal would definitely be a no from the Oilers.

4.) 29 May 2023 13:18:08
"Two minutes for delay of game. "

Will there be anyone left to be traded, come deadline day? Could be a long day for all the panelists.

1.) 27 Feb 2023 18:50:41
Patty Kane to New York for a 2nd.

30 Dec 2022 21:22:39
JT Miller 50% retained, to any team willing to take on the POS

24 Mar 2022 12:20:58
I am hoping to see a team like Detroit and Ottawa offersheet some cap-strapped teams.
Just using Vegas as an example, both Nicholas Hague and Nicholas Roy are RFA and Vegas has no cash available.
Sure they might get someone to take on one of their contracts, but is that enough.
Signing Roy at under 1.35 has no compensation and sign Hague for the 1 year for 2million costs a 3rd tound pick.
It would look real good on Vegas.

02 Mar 2021 06:08:08
Calgary trades somebody for something.

1.) 02 Mar 2021 13:31:48
How about anybody for anything? With various picks from either side to even out value.

2.) 05 Mar 2021 04:56:08
I like it, seems like a good trade for both teams.

16 Jul 2020 11:58:42
I know Leafs fans won't agree withis, but I expect that if Toronto makes a trade of anyone of the top 4 paid forwards, they will be disappointed with the return.
In order for that team to get better, they need to free up apace, which is essentially a ap dump, so I don't expect to see the Leafs getting a major haul when/ if the do trade one of those players, I expect they will get a fair trade, which h would get them a quality defender and some other pie as.

1.) 16 Jul 2020 14:05:34
I think they could get good value for Nylander. Tavares just won’t be moved because that’s would just be the absolute lowest thing the organization could do. Marner and Mathews are to expensive to be traded for imo.

2.) 16 Jul 2020 14:55:09
If anyone would go, I agree it'd be Nylander. I also agree with the return being underwhelming, tho.

3.) 17 Jul 2020 02:40:16
The return could be underwhelming as mentioned but it depends on what Leafs want in return.

Nylander for a Dman of similar caliber 1 for 1 hockey trade isn’t out of the question right?

Although wingers for Defenseman is a different story than a Center.

4.) 17 Jul 2020 03:21:39
Nylander is on a great contract. I think it’s much more likely that you see a Kapanen+Dermott or Liljegren type trade. By themselves those players hold decent value, but together they hold very good value and could get you a very solid defenceman.

5.) 17 Jul 2020 14:10:06
In fairness to the Leafs other then McD no big contract player who makes over $10 mil per their team won't receive what they are worth in this C-19 cap uncertain NHL.

Now I understand.

I have stopped wasting my time reading what pinball posts, as they are always bad for the other team.

Actually, I don't get your point. You have an asterisk beside Tanev's name, then mention Brodie, then Reilly having to accept a trade.
You then for some reason bring in Hanifin's name Into the proposal, so I am not sure who is intended to be traded in this proposal, as it contains 5 different defensemen.

Miller has a NMC, so doubt that happens.

As a Canucks fan, I would be happy getting a 2nd for Brock, maybe a team like Buffalo would be interested.
