Leafs trade Cody Franson to the Setroit Red Wings for a 2nd Round draft pick.

6'5" Right handed defensemen that lead the league in hits and still pop over 30 points playing on the 2nd pairing are worth much more than a mid 2nd round pick

The leafs will sign Franson hopefully to a 5 year deal in the range of 3.5M to 4M per year

Except for the fact that Fransons slow, has zero defensive zone coverage and isn't effective unless on the bottom pairing

The leafs could get a bridge contract for 2 yrs at 3mil a year for Franson. After that, it's a 5-5.5 mil/yr committment. Franson is an excellent D-man, one of Burke's best trade acquisitions.
