Oilers need to get a second line centerman. Also, I don't see Petry or the oilers signing a new contract next season.
Oilers need to target teams with salary cap teams. These are a few proposals.

1. Oilers: Petry + lander + pitlick + 2nd rd pk
Caps: Green + Laich

2. Oilers: Petry+ lander + gernat +2nd rd pk
Bruins: boychuk + soderberg

3. Oilers: Petry + lander
Fliers: schenn brothers

4. Oilers: Petry + yak + 2nd rd pk
Fliers: coburn + couturier
The only reason yak should be traded is for someone like couturier. I believe Penguins would love to have yak, but not for Martin or Letang (too old and too expensive) and not for sutter ( he is good but not couturier good)

5. Berglund is out I believe, especially after sobotka left.

the fylyers* have a lot easier ways to get under cap. i.e lecavalier/hartnell

no need for them to trade away cor pieces in B. schenn and couturier

Oilers underpay in every trade except #4 and it's still unlikely.

How are 1 and 3 underpay by oilers?
Petry is better than luke schenn. Also, I never said schenn bros and couturier.

Laich is 4.5 m cap hit. They get lander and pitlick. Green and Petry are both free agents next year. Caps get a 2nd rd pk extra. Green is prone injury and he is at 6 m cap hit, while Petry is half that.

Hartnell is mot in Phili anymore. And for Phili to get rid of lecavieler, they need to add to get rid of that horrible contract.
