Florida gets the top 6 winger they want and the leafs get help at center and defence.im not going to pretend to know exactly how close the value is,this is just something I'd like to see happen.

I think the concept makes sense for sure. IMO Florida would add here though. Toronto could probably get Bjugstad instead of Shore, maybe even a mid pick also considering JVR's awesome contract and that he's continueing to get better every year. My 2 cents.

Gudbranson may be just that some day, but right now, TOR says no.

Can't believe I'm saying it on this site, but this proposal is awful for the leafs. They stole JVR from the Flyers and he alone is worth that package from the Panthers. Probably more than that actually. Leafs say no.

Like I said I'm not going to try and tell people how close the value is on this deal I'm not a nhl gm. Just what I want to see. Draisaitl just so you know gudbranson is already a really good d man.

The only leafs moving, if any, are franson, Reiner, Phaneuf, Kadri.
I really think the team they have will start the season.

Is Jvr that good? He's good no question about that. A history of concussions and 324 gp,95goals,192 points.22points in 46 playoff games. This deal could fill some needs for both teams but I think the leafs say no

@hockeygodgift I like the bjugstad idea instead of Drew shore I think that's a more equal trade bjugstad, gudbranson for Jvr, franson could help both teams. But I don't think Florida will move bjugstad

@draisaitl and @chirp I'm a leafs fan so I am biased towards the leafs, you are biased against the leafs. The difference is I watch all of their games and they need help at center and d if they want a chance at the cup IMO. Jvr is really good no question and thanks for the feedback but toronto wins this deal long term if not right away.toronto can add a rental top 6 forward at deadline if they need it much easier than a stud top 4 dman and solid checking line center which they need IMO.

Not worth it. JVR-Bozak-Kessel are our top line. Yah more help on D would be great, but if JVR is involved in the deal it best be for a top 2 dman. Add to the fact that JVR has a great contract. He should not be leaving anytime soon. Yes we address a need at center and on D, but Lupul is not a 1st line player and Booth is not a 2nd line player. Helps in some aspects but makes our overall team less competitive. IMO

You are totally right, they absolutely need C help, but Shore won't solve that. And still, I don't think Gudbranson is a top 2 guy (yet)

22 years old is a little early to call him a bust IMO. He's played 169 games in nhl most dman are not even ready for nhl at 22

Booth is already signed mg69 so you might as well see if he can regain the form that made him really good(before Richards took his head off) lupul is more of a second liner IMO but so is bozak.if leafs take out Jvr and add lupul and a pick/prospect maybe. Lupul, franson,1st 2016 for gudbranson and shore could still help boh teams fill some needs

@mg69 Booth is not a second line player, but he was and could still be(big maybe). Fact is he's here might as we'll play him see what happens and if toronto needs a forward they can add a rental at/closer too the deadline.

I know he is already signed. I would rather see him playing on our 3rd line. And yes Bozak is more of a 2nd liner. But he has chemistry with our top 2 forwards, can win faceoffs, and battles. Is Shorr going to be a huge upgrade at center. No it just adds to the cluster of centerman we have now. Like I said if JVR is leaving it better be in a package deal to get a top 2 dman. The trade doesn't make sense for the Leafs right now.

@drgonzo exactly Booth MAY return to form. I would much rather see him regain form on our 3rd line where he can play with I'm guessing Winnik and Santorelli. Give him some time on the PP. And yah if it doesn't work out we add a rental. But than we may be out of the playoff hunt by than so why bother and all it would mean is giving up a young player and a draft pick maybe more. With the pieces we have now we have decent enough depth upfront. And pretty good defence. Carlyle needs to trust the rest of the D more so it takes all the pressure of Phaneuf. Look at the Ducks. They had one of the best 3 sets of dman in the league. That happened because Bruce trusted all of them to play every situation.

I agree mg69 Carlisle should trust/play other dman more, I think he realizes now that phaneuf can't play 25-26 mins a night and still be effective. I don't mind booth playing 3rd line too but he need to get a real shot(Ice time,pp time) and if he doesn't turn things around then add a forward later. Maybe 20 games in maybe at the deadline. I think the current leafs roster has a good shot at the playoffs but not the cup. That's why I want to see leafs add a center and hopefully a dman too
