Edmonton - Bozak, Gardiner, Lupul and a 1st

Toronto - Hall and a roster player

If we are ready to overpay for Stall. Why not overpay for a better player.

I don't think they trade Hall. At least not for those Players. Hall is too valuable. You'd have to start with Reilly if you wanna make Edmonton think about it.

Yes, 2 out of JVR, Rielly and Nylanders would have to be included. And you still add from there.
Hall is delivering more than 1PPG playing for EDM. Not too bad.

Thanks a lot Cheeks, but a combined 41-7 for benn14 and me seem to prove me right.
Whats your problem? I don't even hate the leafs. Only thing I don't like is a big part of their fans totally overvaluing each and every player.
Hall is a #1 pick, a franchise player despite playing mostly wing which is impressive enough to begin with.
EDM really isn't a good team, but he puts up 1+PPG every damn year.
So, I think TOR starts with 2 out of these 3. JVR is great, I love him. But Hallis arguably better and has a way higher ceiling. Nylander hasn't proven anything yet, but has some good value.
Thats what EDM would want to have back for someone like Taylor Hall. No one forces you to pay that price, but I think you have to pay that price if you want to get Hall.
Thats not undervaluing leafs players, but being realistic trade value wise.

I agree with Drais. Bozak, Gardiner are both good players. But Hall is agruably already one, if not the best LW in the League. He has now played 257 games for 98 - 137 - 235 in 5 seasons.

Compare that with JVR. 336 games for 100 - 100 - 200 in 6 seasons.

Playoffs not included. (JVR in 46 games 13 - 9 - 22)

So you agree that they have to add to JVR if they want to trade for Hall.

Thats not undervaluing. At least not in this trade proposal.

So overpaying for Hall is not Bozak, Gardiner, Lupul and 1st it's more like JVR, Reilly + pick or prospect. Even then I'd keep Hall.

@draisaitl_94 I know hall is really good but don't you think that's a bit of an overpayment I mean don't get me wrong I hate the leafs but jvr and reilly+ is too much because jvr is good but not enough but then you say reilly, I get that jvr alone isn't enough but when you say reilly you go to an overpayment because reilly will be monster, then you say + so then its just you're hatred of leaf fans proposing a trade to your oils franchise player

I agree that Toronto has to overpay for Hall. But the operative word in that sentence is "overpay". In other words, it's an overpayment to send 2 of JVR, Rielly or Nylander + other pieces.

So if you're looking for a consolation prize, it's maybe that Hall isn't worth that much in a vacuum trade but he is worth that much in a real world trade.

Yeah your comments did make me think over the proposal and I really never offered a player that shows a huge potential on becoming a building block or a franchise player for the Oilers. Jvr or Reilly would have to be added. Not both. But Percy or another decent prospect would have to be involved. I would love hall on the leafs and also would love to see Reimer on another team. Maybe Lupul, Reimer, kadri and a first. I guess no matter what I say I will be told I'm overvaluing leaf players. But it goes both ways. Leaf haters undervalue leaf players because they have arguebly the biggest fan base. :p

As I said: You could very well argue that JVR + Rielly is too much, but I guarantee you that you won't get Hall for anything below that.
Lupul, Reimer, Kadri and 1st isn't anything that replaces you Hall.
Hall is en elite player and would already be a superstar if he was on a better team. You don't get superstars for an often-injured aging 2nd liner, a goalie that's borderline between good backup and bad starter, a #2 center that has yet to live up to his potential and a 1st pick that might not even be in the lottery.
Just not going to happen.

@NHLFunFacts: Oh well, thanks Sir! And you're right, but part of the reason for it is, that approx 3/4+ proposed trades on here are rather unrealistic. But I should really do that, too, I agree.

I would like to visit the fantasy world that Leafs fans live in one day, it seems like a magical place where career AHLer's are demi-gods worth more then Stamkos, and human Pylons acquired from Calgary are revered as the best defencemen since a kid from Perry Sound, ahh Leafs fans they sure are lucky!
