I am re-posting a trade because it will time out today.

To Montreal Taylor Hall
To Edmonton Alex Galchenyuk

Hall after 3 years, Galchenyuk up to the all star break

Galchenyuk 158 34 55 89 +8
Hall 171 65 80 145 -7

Yup Galchenyuk is FAR better. Hall is only 2 years older than Galchenyuk, not enough to even comment about age difference.

Career Hall and Pacioretty
Pacioretty 364 128 123 251
Hall 287 103 151 254

So many remarkable comments.  Just saying what would Hall stats look like if he had Subban & Markov on defense and Price in the nets?  IMO he would have more points and a better +/-.  Pacioretty better than Hall.  OK you are right!  It is so obvious how could I have missed it.

It's a lot easier for a winger to develop then a center. That's my 2 cents.

2.) 22 Jan 2015
Ya because price helped a lot of habs to get more points this season.

3.) 22 Jan 2015
Actually CD1 when you know there an eraser in net to wipe out your mistakes, it does allow the offense to take more chances, but my comment was more in reference to the +/- stat.

4.) 22 Jan 2015
What's your point?

5.) 22 Jan 2015
@benn14, who are you asking?

6.) 22 Jan 2015
@gretzkyghost you. I don't get why you posted this?

7.) 22 Jan 2015
@Benn because I think the trade makes both teams better. MTL still has 3 centers and EDM needs a center. The bonus would be if Yakopuv would return to his rockie level or better.

8.) 23 Jan 2015
The logistics don't work. Pacioretty is our #1 Lw. He earned that

9.) 23 Jan 2015
I think centers hold more value then wingers. They have to be able to distribute to get the puck to their wingers, they have to have a strong 2 way game on the back check, they have to be able to win faceoffs to keep puck possession, I think they just have all around more responsibility.

Not saying wingers like hall aren't valuable because they are but if you look at all the past cup winners they have had a superstar center that eats up a lot of minutes and plays an all around strong game. Crosby/ Malkin, Toews, Kopitar, Zetterberg, Bergeron/ Krejci just to name a few. For how young Galchenyuk is he's shown a lot of potential so I can't see montreal trading him.

Teams seem more willing to trade wingers as RNH probably won't be traded instead they are looking to trade Eberle and Hall. Same with the leafs if Kessel was a center there is no way they talk about trading him.

i don't understand this at all?

are you proposing a hall for paccioretty swap I don't see the point in MTL doing it, if that's what you're prosposing. if you're saying a galchenyuk for hall trade then you wayyy for off. maybe galchenyuk + 1st + fucale.

11.) 23 Jan 2015
Shankar I have to desagree galchenyuk Will be a much more complete player in the years too come compare too hall who is all offense! Plus we got pacioretty so I rather have a rw instead of hall but not for galchenyuk!

12.) 23 Jan 2015
Right now, you couldn't get Hall for Galchenyuk, forget that. Maybe if Galchenyuk finally breaks out, then it turns. But right now. The Oilers would be dumb to trade Hall for Galchenyuk straight up.

13.) 23 Jan 2015
Thanks, Hall has proven himself to be a top 10 performer. Most of the comments seem to reject the trade because Gacheyuk has proven he COULD BE a top 10 performer. I will not post again.

14.) 23 Jan 2015
@gretzkyghost
i think the problem is that hall has more value now their is no question about that but montreal drafted galchenyuk and they hold more value in him then anyone else would. They are also one of the better teams in the east and galchenyuk is a big part of that so why go make a blockbuster trade now. It wouldn't make much sense for them considering he is their number one center of the future.

Big No from Habs
