You drop down because you get a good player at 7 good center crousse gunnar be good plus you get another good player in the 1st round actually a good trade leafs have d prospects Reilly Finn granberg McWilliams Percy loov and more get more quilt picks to drop back

Defence men take longer to develop but when they do could be really good Percy is going to be a stud I believe 2 years ago people were saying Tampa wouldn't be able to give away Hedman contract and we'll couple years of developing later he is probley one of the top 10 best d men in the league

Id trade down to 7 if it included a second round pick and next yrs second or prospect. Barzal, zacha, proviriv are all good players who the leafs could choose. But leafs also have another level if good to potentially choose from: strome, hanifin, and marner

Naw finn, granberg are solid guys developing (bottom 4 in the nhl eventually) and percy has already played a few in the show and last year had the most points or something in the ahl - future top 4
