Drastic trade subban is the face of the franchise but i think mtl as to change things up and make a push, like the blue jays did. It hurts to give subban. Colombus: Subban andrighetto Montreal: johanson, Saad. After that mtl needs a defenseman. Mtl: pleckanec and what isle want Islanders: hamonic. Roster pacio-johansen-gallagher. Eller-galchenyuk-saad. And def you get 6 good dman, markov hamonic beulieu petry emelin gilbert.

subban may be slightly better than johansen, but if you noticed i said when everything is taken into consideration. that includes salary, subban makes 2.25X as much, he isn't 225% better than johansen. of course simple dollars aren't an accurate evaluation of a player, but they must be taken into consideration, and the marginal increase in on-ice quality from johansen to subban is offset by the large difference in salary.

Ok first is first, Subban and Andrighetto are definitely close to Johansen and Saad, if anything add a third round pick and there it is, only because Andrighetto is not yet at status of a future top 6 or not. I also think that relying on Gallagher to come back after injury and keep producing as a top line winger is a little off but could happen. To finish off the defense, look to the west and maybe try for Pietrangelo by offering Plekanec and 2nd round. So top pair would be Piet and Beaulieu and then Blues trade Backes for a winger and let Fabbri center third line and top pair in St. Louis is Bouwmeester and Shattenkirk.
