OTT: Ryan, Ceci, Pageau.

Really? Please. Not even close.

Ryan's long term salary without minimum 50% - 60% retention can't see it happening. RNH without Karlson coming back. Sorry no dice.

Try this one instead.

RNH, Slepyshev, Reinhart for Karlson, Turris, 2nd rounder + the big center attained in the draft last year that Ottawa moved up to get.

Fairtradefor all is another coming of k99.

how does EDM get hosed? Ryan replaces Eberle, Ceci is a #4 D plus Pageau would be a solid 3rd line C, Nugent Hopkins would be OTT 3rd line C behind Turris and Brassard, Eberle would be 1st or 2nd line RW, I think EDM wins by a little bit because OTT loses Ceci, they don't really have a replacement for him.

@JZ_DAL, you're totally right. As a sens fan I'd say Ottawa might still have to add a little bit more, probably a draft pick. That being said I don't think Ottawa would do this trade because it messes up the entire line up. On the blue line it would set Ottawa back severely, even more so than before the acquisition of Phaneuf.

FairTrade are you serious? No one on Edmonton would come close to getting Karlsson (except McDavid but let's not go there) .

You have to be off your rocker to think that your trade is actually close to fair.

Turris >= RNH
Slepyshev = 2nd
Karlsson >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Reinhart
And you want Brown? were you dropped.

Dear Senators fans. Please. You can't seriously think this is a fair deal for both teams?
The trade counter proposal was a joke that was totally biased in the Oilers favor just like the original proposal was totally biased towards the Senators. Both were jokes. (I hope.? )

If you're serious. Then you need to re-examine the facts. Bobby Ryan's contract is way too much money for way too long of a duration. Eberle's contract is less money for only a couple more years. Proposing taking on Ryan's salary for the duration of the contract he has left is franchise suicide. Eberle is probably a better player than Ryan to begin with anyways. Sorry Sens fans, your GM made the mistake on Ryan and will have to live with it or buy him out, Oilers will have cap issues of their own soon enough to deal with without having to figure out how to afford an overpaid underachiever like Ryan. Realistically the only way I see him moving out of Ottawa is if there's heavy salary retention.

RNH was a first overall pick, and is a valuable contributing member of the first place Oilers team who does not need to make any radical changes at this time. To think that he and a #4/ 5 average Dman like Ceci who the Oilers have 3 of coming up in the minors already could be exchanged for each other is beyond ridiculous.

No fair trades for anyone proposed here.

Who exactly are in the minors comparable to Ceci?

oh my god we're all sens fans. karlsson turris and hoffman are gods, right fair trade?

NO.

WE HAVE BASIC KNOWLEDGE

RNH is a former first overall pick, yes, but he's a 5o point guy. Karlsson is an 80 point dman. Nuff said.

your points are invalid so yeah. whatever.

karlsson is only arguably dman in league
How would trade be fair? Yikes

If you measure a players worth to the team by points alone, then that's where the problem lies. It shows that you don't watch the player play to assess his true ability. In Edmonton RNH's role has changed with the addition of Leon and McD. He is put into a less offensive role but equally important towards a TEAM'S success so point totals cited are a moo point in total assessment value of the player on a team.

Sorry Eastern conference fans who don't watch West games. RNH's value to the team is a lot more than just his points total. Multi talented team player that can play any role ( cept for physical intimidator. Not that he wouldn't do it if asked because that's the unselfish team player he is ) and it will take a severe overpayment to get him out of Edmonton especially since the team is enjoying success now.

As a fan of both Canadian teams, I think we can knock this silly trade on the head and move on as I do not see a single player on the Ottawa roster that would be an upgrade to the current Oilers roster with the exception of Karlson and as a stretch Hoffman or Turris as a 4th liner. Sorry guys. No fair trades seem to exist between these 2 teams to help each other out equally.

But please do continue to stomp those obnoxious Leafs each and every game as most of Western Canada including myself thoroughly enjoys it and cheers hard when you pummel them.
Go Sens. :)

Still curious to know who in the minors is comparable to Ceci? And Hoffman would be Oils top line left wing.
