Flames have called Arizona about Mike Smith.
Yotes GM says he believes Smiths value is very high and if someone wants to overpay, well that's just the industry.
But Flames number one target for a goalie remains to be MAF

Some saying MAF will be traded very soon after the finals are over.

I think Fleury would come cheaper due to the expansion draft but a lot depends on which teams these veteran goalies are willing to go to.

Yup
Shhhhhhhh. Don't say that about Arizona too loud. the unrealistic Flame fans will hear you and whine and bicker and complain about the realistic cost to get Smith being the "worst trade ever. " and make silly attempts to mock you, Even though they propose AHL bubble players for Ovechkin. lol

MAF's NTC makes trading him harder. I'm sure he envokes his no trade clause if it's Calgary as the destination.

IF ( slim chance ) IF MAF waives his NTC to Calgary. To get him Pitts would need to be offered up a decent impact forward that is exempt from the Vegas draft. There is only 1 player on the Flames roster that fits that bill and that's Tkachuk.

Tkachuk and 2018 1st is all the Flames have to offer up that's of interest to Pittsburgh. Anything less. and MAF goes elsewhere. like Winnipeg perhaps?

Don't see a Flames / MAF match here as they will want to keep Tkachuk and their draft lotto hope in '18.

Ft4all. keep undervalueing other teams players and overvalueing your teams player. Its the only thing your good at. You and golden knights are the absolute worse.

Fair Trade: you are hilarious. You should question your name because nobody ever thinks your trade proposals or opinion on trades are ever 'Fair. '
You were offering every top prospect and pick CGY had for a 35 year old G. How many pieces did you offer? 5? 6? For Smith and a prospect. Have you ever seen that many solid pieces (or that many pieces period) go for an aging G? It was a completely illogical offer and massive over-payment. Don't get all cranky because people don't EVER agree with your ideas. They are always unrealistic.

Fleury will go a lot cheaper than that. Lots of goalies on the market.

Mike Smith might be the best choice. Yes, Marc-Andre Fluery has more upside. But he has three years left on his contract while Smith has only one year left on his contract. At 35 years of age, Smith is nearing the end of his career. And Calgary's goaltending future lies in Jon Gillies and Tyler Parsons. Smith would be a good tutor for Gillies, give him tips on handling the puck. After the year is up, you hand the reins to Gillies.
