Who do you think is the biggest first round bust ever drafted in the NHL?

My pick is Alex Bourret

In his third QMJHL Season he played 65 games, totalled 86 points, and racked up 172 PIM.

In his Senior year and final season in The Q he played in 67 games, scoring an impressive 114 points, while getting 133 PIM.

He was selected by the Atlanta Trashers 16th overall in the 2005 Draft never to see any NHL ice time.

After struggling in Atlanta, he was traded to the Rangers for Pascal Dupuis and a 3rd rounder at the 2007 draft (Robert Bortuzzo). An extremely lopsided deal in Atlanta's favor. Phoenix then traded a 3rd rounder to acquire him from NY. That pick became the 90th pick in the 2008 Draft, (Tomas Kundratek) a soon to be NHL regular. Alex Bourret ended up a big letdown for 3 organizations.

Who's your biggest bust?

1.) 15 Sep 2014
Patrick sefan, 1st
overall

2.) 15 Sep 2014
Patrick Stefan is by far the biggest bust.

3.) 15 Sep 2014
Alexander volkchov 4th overall by Washington in 96 I think was a horrible bust too. but let's not forget pavel brendl he was touted as being a future superstar. your pick was solid though I haven't heard his name, well since his draft year.

4.) 15 Sep 2014
I think Rick DiPietro has to at least be in the conversation

5.) 15 Sep 2014
What about Alexandre daigle

dipietro, although a bust, is nowhere near as bad as the likes of daigle and stefan.

7.) 16 Sep 2014
Brian Lawton. 1983.
