New York Islanders:

- Jordan Eberle * retained

Edmonton Oilers:

- Ryan Pulock

===
Pulock could help the Powerplay and he has fallen out of place with the New York Islanders.

Islanders have some scoring problems with Andrew Ladd not performing. Sending Eberle to an eastern-conference could help.

With Sekera out, Oilers need another defenceman on the powerplay.

Retained = 500k for the first year, 300k for the second year.

Yikes. I'll let someone else point it out for ya. I'm sure 4 others will right away.

If you are going to keep money. It has to be the same amount for the duration of the contract.

Feel Edmonton can get more than a guy who hasn't proved anything in the NHL. Yes I 100% would take Pulock but I think Eberle straight up could get more. Like he doesn't have 0 value all those idiots saying he does are all the delusional posters who think trolling is fun. The guy had 50 points in a down season. He'll bounce back.

Oilers will not retain salary.

Per GM Peter's press conference.
Eberle is getting unfair negative media and he wants to continue to have the same group together that was a goal short of getting to the conference finals. ( I agree! Keep the core. Team continuity ) Only concerns are signing McDavid NOW. Signing McDavid . signing McDavid. and then signing Leon.

I'm sure if a REALISTIC VALUE DEAL came along for Eberle, and it was for another top 6 Forward, lights out faceoff man, or top 4 young D-man in a similar salary range, he'd consider it. but really the liquidation trades listed on here are quite frankly a complete insult.

McJC. think bigger and better and don't worry what the Oil hating trollers say to devalue a top 6 forward that is in transition adjusting his game to be a solid 2 way player.
You need 2 way players to win championships.

Ultimate Question:

Nolan Patrick
vs
Nico Hischier

Personally, I'd go with Nolan Patrick.
Bigger guy who plays like a power forward. Scored 102 points in his SOPHOMORE season.

Nolan had a down year because of injuries and a lot of people have hischier ahead of him now but I think he would still be my pick too.

The main difference is that Nico is a smoother skater and more of a silky playmaker. Patrick is more of a solid 2-way centre with a hard shot. All depends what your team wants.

Nico for me.

While both will probably end up being good players in the NHL, choosing one seems to be no easy task. From what I've read, Patrick is more offensive than Hischier but Hischier plays a better two-way game. Patrick is a bit bigger, but is also more injury-prone. I'd say it comes down to who NJ think will transform their team more. I'd wager they will take Patrick but it's pretty darn close.

If Green gets a first, Eberle gets 1st overall.
