Okay it's obvious that I'm not a fan of the Oilers and it has all to do with management.
I made some silly trade posts earlier but I will put my dislike asside and propose some honest draft day trades.
Before the lottery I felt the Oilers were poised to make a very smart draft selection (Hanifin) and truly give themselves a awesome d core to look forward to.
When they won the chance to draft McDavid I knew they would abort any plan they had to a responsible rebuild and do what they always do and take the highlight guy with no regard to team chemistry.
A big problem is that Daryl Katz is the new Charles Wong, meaning that they are too rich and stupid to run an NHL club. Lowe should have been shown the door long ago, Nicholson the new CEO or President couldn't win junior gold while overseeing possibly the best crop of junior players in the world (Canada won as soon as he left) and Chiarelli's first move was to keep the guy who last failed doing his job.
In order to prove that they are committed to giving their fans a winning team for once, bold moves need to be made.
So I will pitch the idea of dealing McDavid. Maybe Chiarelli with his history blockbuster dealing will be open to such boldness.
What is the price tag on McDavid?
How about:
To Buffalo: McDavid
To Edm: #2, #21, Ristolainen, McCabe, 1st round pick 2016
Then;
To Arizona: #2, Fasth
To Edm: #3, #28, Smith, and a prospect
Then;
To Philly: #16, #21 and maybe a 2nd or 3rd or prospect

There is a difference between McDavid and Eichel, but 2 1st and 2 good d-men prospects. We know that Eichel can play against grown men, so I would not make the trade if I were Murray.

But seriously, as much of a joke I make of that, the truth probably isn't far off. Anyone who believes the Oilers are turning the corner- I laugh at you again. Those dummies have had the best chance of building a winner of anyone in the past 6 year period and they still aren't a cusp of making the playoffs team.
I wouldn't doubt they are trying to land for example Mitch Marner along with McDavid bc they are idiots. I'm saying right now that the Oilers will have a real good chance at drafting Auston Matthews next year and they will.
The worst trade proposal we can think involving the Oilers is believable bc its the Oilers. They get rewarded every year for being the worst and their fans still think they are wicked awesome and that they have all the trade clout in the league. Gimme a break. Nobody needs to deal with the Oilers until they are ready to make real trades and quit over valuing their mess of a club.
I bet this offer is on the table from Edm:
