Detroit is not trading Mantha right now. Detroit says No. The only way Detroit would consider Mantha is for McDavid. That possibility isn't even likely.
Detroit won't get McDavid, Toronto won't get Mantha in a Phaneuf Trade.
I agree with Draisaitl, None are realistic

toronto will never trade nylander at this point. He was a star in for Modo, the swedish junior team, and now he marlies. He has put up poins every where he has gone. the guy is solid prospect. Obviously you haven't watched him play much.
and why would toronto ever retain 40% of kessels contract that just dumb.

If Detroit wants Phaneuf it's not a bad trade. At least they get Nylander back who knows if Toronto would even do it.

1.) Even if they eat 50%, Pens would still be over the cap. It isn't hard to figure this out. Come on.

suter makes a good share of that 3.5 semin would be in 50% retained, and with dupuis on lti PIT has more than enough room.
however, i'd much rather sutter than semin and that's not even close.
3.) If he's 50% that means he 3.5 mill which is less the duper contract so we can easily afford him while duper is on IR which would most likely be the rest of the season.
