Mtl needs scoring; Edm needs No. 1 D. King Clancy nominee in Mtl (Max) is latest of numerous signs that PK has lost favour with management and players and for better olr worse, this is Max's team now. Change must happen.
To Edm: PK and Eller
To Mtl: Nugent-Hopkins and Yakupov

Mtl could also toss in prospect, but I think PK's value is enough.

MTL hangs up the phone as soon as Chiarelli says "PK. "

2.) 08 Apr 2016 15:56:09
Maybe your right and both teams may need changes but subban is worth a lot more than that alone. Yak ain't worth much and rnh is nothing special yes both can be amazing in the future but as of now it's not worth it for Montreal to part ways with subban for that.

3.) 08 Apr 2016 17:36:33
Chirp, I think chmtl is maybe suggesting Montreal is the one calling up Edmonton and bringing this up. I still don't think they are trading Subban. To me Montreals untouchable 3 are Price, Subban and Galagher. Yes I believe Patches would be traded before any of them 3.
Just my opinion tho.

4.) 08 Apr 2016 19:15:25
Even though I agree he won't be traded, adding this years firsts would make it closer.

5.) 08 Apr 2016 20:46:20
In 3 years from now PK will be montreals version of Phaneuf.

Good feedback, gents. I look at annual avg. salary going to PK and it covers off RNH and Yak. Eller is a salary dump - cash that, combined cap space, gives MB leverage to add another Top 6 piece (Shipachyov) without any prospect loss. This also allows MB to draft D-man Jakob Chychrun in Top 10 (and not popular picks Dubois or Gauthier) - and supplant anything Debois/ Gauthier could do by bringing in Scherbak now. I mauy be off the mark, but there is a majort change coming and outside of Price and Gallagher, it's ALL on the table. My gfut keeps telling me that Patches is untouchable, at least under MB and MT's watch. Again, any feedback is good feedback.

Chirp your saying if EDM offered McJesus for Pk they'd hang up?

8.) 09 Apr 2016 03:29:12
Obviously that wouldn't happen^.

To Habs: Nugent-Hopkins (5 yrs at $30M)
To Oilers: Pacioretty (3 yrs at $15M)

Next series of moves: Look to trade Plekanec, Eller, Emelin and Desharnais. Not as much concerned with the return as I am freeing up Stamkos money.

Next series of moves: Give opportunities to Carr, Andrighetto, McCarron, Danault, Matteau, Hudon and perhaps Reway, who may be a top six talent. May be too early for Scherbak, who I think can be trade bait - perhaps add Eller for Yakupov (this deal is close) .

Finally, MT is not the man to coach a young team with skill. Habs need the best coach available, and not a coach who is a francophone to simply appease the Quebec media. The players and fans don't care what is the mother tongue of the head coach - they care about winning.

Chmtl do u remember last time Mtl hired a non french coach the fans went nuts he was fired for that.

2.) 04 Mar 2016 19:26:11
you really think the fans don't care whether the coach speaks french or not? you may want to reconsider that statement.

3.) 04 Mar 2016 22:58:39
Is Pacioretty a top D man or a left winger that would play behind Hall?

4.) 11 Mar 2016 04:28:45
Fans don't care, only some French media do.

5.) 11 Mar 2016 04:30:02
Habs pass, they won't give up their top winger for a 2nd or 3rd line centre.

Signing Tlusty makes sense for Habs. He has proven to be a decent offensive player when the conditions are right - that is, as a top 6 forward. Put him the bottom 6, like the Jets did, and you're wasting your time, and his talent.
And, if Semin is available for 1-yr for a cheap price (that's what his agent says) the Habs should pursue. He will be motivated and can help our PP. In fact, a pylon can help our PP, as it stands.
If Gally signs a bridge for $2.5M per, both moves are doable. It we're too to the cap, trade either Emelin or Gilbert, preferably for draft pick.

gally will get more than 2.5 imo

2.) 16 Jul 2015 03:51:01
Kinda like that idea. as long as it doesn't cost to much. hey. ya never know.

3.) 16 Jul 2015 17:03:11
Dont think gally will take 2.5, probably lookinh closer to 4.5, I would think

Of all the posts I've read of late, this one makes the most sense - well thought out. Contrary to opinions of others, the value placed on Okposo is correct. I hate giving up Tinordi, but he needs a change of scenery. I will be surprised if he isn't on the move soon-ish.
