Tor-Kessel
CHI-Sharp, 1st, 2nd

greenstripetowel

1.) Doesn't work on cap hit for CHI. They want room for Toews, Kane and Seabrook upcoming contracts, not to put themselves into trouble

2.) No thank you form toronto

3.) 28 Feb 2015 20:52:29
Fair trade but the reason Sharp is being traded is because of cap reasons. Kessel is carrying a cap hit of 8 mil so I doubt that this deal would happen.

4.) Both teams say no. It doesn't fit what Toronto wants in a deal for Kessel because Sharp would help them right now and those picks wouldn't be high enough.

Chicago doesn't because they need cap space for the future, which is why Sharp is in trade rumours

5.) Toronto would have to eat at least 3 million in salary and don't see what they would do other then flipping for a 1st or bottom 20 pick most likely two bottom for kessel and had cuffed salary for next seven years doesn't make sense. for Toronto.

6.) 28 Feb 2015 22:28:05
lierally the exact oppsoite of what both teams are aiming to do.

7.) I don't think it really fits either teams needs (TOR is building for the future, so adding a high paid winger makes little sense. And CHI is trying to trim salary not add more).

Kane will be back for the playoffs, so I don't see the need to make any moves ATM. Maybe a rental winger.

8.) They are trading him to free cap not take on even more.

9.) Wow 56 unbelievables most I have ever saw on this site. Good Job 👍

TML-Phaneuf, Bernier
Dal-Nikushkin

1.) Cap space?

Islanders see an opportunity this year to make a playoff run. Here's a trade that can shore up their D.

NYI-Strome
TML-Phaneuf

greenstripetowel

1.) This doesn't make any sense for toronto

2.) I would do that but i'm not sure where he would fit right now. You can never have to much potential I guess.

3.) Um.hell ya you can't too much is better then not enough. That and we lose one huge contract

Tor-Kessel
SJS-Couture

greenstripetowel

1.) No from both sides. Kessel has more value for sure, but the Sharks like having depth at C and Couture is one of their top 2.

2.) 24 Dec 2014 23:30:46
@ProDepth, that's not why the sharks wouldn't trade Couture, they won't trade him because he is going to be there future #1 C and the future face of the franchise after Thornton and Marleau ship out.

Tor-Kessel
NYR-Krieder, Girardi

greenstripetowel

1.) NY adds.

Toronto would probably want Mcdonagh+ or Stepan+ for Kessel

2.) For people saying he couldn't get that:

He is one if the most consistent players in the NHL. Puts up 70-80 points a season on a reasonable contract

3.) 24 Dec 2014 23:35:06
Don't think Kessel would fetch McDonagh alone. Stepan + is what is likely to take to acquire Kessel but NYR still wouldn't make that trade because they'd be shallow down the middle. Not to mention Rick Nash is playing lights out this season and is currently is second in goals this year. At this point they don't need to make that kind of a trade acquiring another goal scorer on the wing to replace a centre.

Tor-Subban
Mtl-Kessel, Phaneuf.

Montreal gets more talent on forward and a defenceman to take the minutes subban was playing.

Toronto finally changes their core and gets back a piece to put with Rielly and build around on D.

greenstripetowel

1.) Salary cap.

2.) Don't ever see this happening, but I do like it.

3.) Its not just the cap, I mean as much as people like to rag on dion and kessel, they're still top end players. and as good as subban has been and will most likely be he's still not worth those 2 guys. ever.

Ace, I'm glad someone finally sees it like that. CBJ are tied for last in the NHL right now so yes, that 1st could end up being very good and especially if packaged with the leafs first. This gives the Leafs more depth at centre more picks (a shot at landing McDavid), cap space and culture change.

@Draisaitle I agree that Kessel isn't the player that those 3 are. Leafs might have to add a little to make those 3 work. It depends on what teams want, a guys who can score at will playing with a playmaking centre? would Pitt move Malkin for Kessel and Bozak? Bozak fills in at #2 centre and Kessel plays with Crosby?
