Myers is in his final year of his 6 mill by 5 year contract. So at 50% he's at 3 mill. Not the worst contract to swallow especially with it only being for a year. However, that doesn't warrant a first and a second. I think if they are retaining 50% they could get a 2nd or a 3rd in return. Haven't seen him play a tonne the past few years so maybe I'm under valuing him. The Canucks are going to have a tough time moving him though without retention.

It's been said that there's an agreement between VCR & SJ to exchange Labanc for Myers after Myers is paid his 5M signing bonus on Sept. 1st, after which his salary for the year is 1M, but his cap hit is 6M.

A player like that may be worth a fair return at the trade deadline, and once the bonus is paid.

Budget teams trying to add to their D but not their actual payroll would probably jump at the chance to add him for 1M in real dollars.
