Idek why but it seems people hate 3 way trades but sometimes they make it easier to trade high end players.

Montreal gets Nazem Kadri, and conditional pick in 2016 from WSH

Washington gets Tomas Plekanec or DD and a 2nd from Toronto

Toronto gets Mike Green and 3rd from WSH, Lars Eller and Juri Sekac

Obviously I'm a Habs fan but I tried to make this as unbiased as possible value wise. Montreal giving 3 players to get one seems like a lot but we would have 3 top 9 centres still just have a whole on wing that a prospect could maybe fill.

Washington clearly plays as a helping hand to Montreal and ideally that seems like no one would do it but it does help them getting a second line shut down centre or second unit Powerplay centre plus a pick.

Toronto gets a veteran who has lost a step but can help them out IMO at least. Lars Eller adds them centre depth and also get some nhl ready prospects ( Sekac questionable but Patryn could be a 6th or extra this year if they trade Franson at the deadline.

Idk if cap works it's just more a value for value trade lol.

Walleedj

1.) Washington declines, doesn't get enough for Green

2.) No way from T.O

3.) Toronto gets the best deal IMO. Then Washington, then Montreal.

4.) So montreal gives up Plekanec, Eller, Sekac and a 2nd for Kadri.

No way from habs.

5.) Habs win the Sekac lottery and then trade him in a package for a player that really wouldn't help them all that much? Yeah, no.

Edmonton trades Petry, Shultz, Eberle, B+ prospect, 2016 and 2017 1st round picks or 2015 1st pick and 2016 and 2017 2nd round picks for Shea Webber

Edmonton gets the top 2 dmen they have been searching for who can also bring leadership. Might be an over payment but for a top 3 dman and best DFD you have to give up a lot.

Nashville gets a 60-85 PPG RW that an offense deprived team could really use, a young OFD in Shultz who can play top 4 and solid all around top 4 dmen in Petry as well as high picks and prospect.

Walleedj

1.) I would say eberle 2015 1st and schultz would be enough

2.) 01 Sep 2014 21:13:42
thats too much for weber tbh

3.) Way to much for weber. And Eberle is definatley not a 60 point per game player. Lol

4.) Massive overpayment for Weber especially considering how high those 1st round picks could be even with Weber on the team

5.) Waaaaaaaaay too much for Weber. Some of you people think he's the greatest player of all time or something with these ridiculous trades.

6.) 01 Sep 2014 22:38:15
I think that's too much for Weber.
You could be right when you're saying that's what the Preds are prolly going to want for him, but personally, I wouldn't give up all that for Weber.

7.) WAAAY TOO MUCH! Weber isn't instantly going to win Edmonton a cup . Giving up young studs and many what I think would be high picks is way too much!

8.) What you (the person sitting at the computer) would trade that much for Weber and what the Preds would want for Weber (not saying they would want this exact trade) are too very different things.

Edmonton trades Petry, 2nd round in 2015 and B level prospect to Toronto for Nazem Kadri.

Edmonton gets their second line center who can play wing when Draistal is ready to take that role or play 3rd line center and give edmonton depth down the middle.

Toronto gets an underrated top 4 D man IMO and a player who will have more of an impact on improving TOR then 37 year old Robidas. Gives Toronto more D depth as well.

Walleedj

1.) Toronto says no

2.) Who's the B level prospect? Anyways I would probably do it from a leafs standpoint.

3.) 01 Sep 2014 22:39:30
IMO, a top4 dmen, 2nd rd pick in a deep draft and a B prospect is too much for Kadri.
Thats not bashing him or anything, but Petry and a B prospect should clearly be enough

4.) I can't see this happening. The leafs need kadri. Toronto doesn't have the center depth to trade kadri away IMO

5.) Arcobello instead of the prospect because Toronto is also hurting for center depth.

6.) Why would toronto move kadri and create a bigger hole up the middle.which b prospect.

7.) 02 Sep 2014 11:36:26
Toronto should just keep Kadri. He will be a consistent 50-60 point player on the 2nd line. He just needs to change his on ice behaviour (back checking, going into the corners etc. ) which is easily fixable. There's no doubt he has the skill to be a great player he just needs to mature defensively and he will be a solid piece for the leafs moving forward.

8.) IMO he would thrive playing on the wing. @drgonzo it is not that we don't have center depth. It is just we don't have a 2nd line center to allow for Kadri to play wing. We have Winnik, Santorelli, Komarov, Holland, Kontiola who also play center, but none who are really 2nd line centers. Would like to see them go after a big body 2nd line center, but not a lot available. Berglund could be available. Vinny is, but we don't have the cap. Islander have some young centers coming up, but none that are ready for 2nd line duties.

9.) Lol ok .

10.) Let kadri play the 2c for the year, let him develop, leafs don't have many options at the moment anyway.

11.) No way from EDM.

Montreal trades Plekanec and 2015 2nd to Washington for Karl Alzner

WSH gets center depth after Grabo left, Pleks plays 200 foot game which Trotz will love and MTL gets a left handed Top 4 DFD to play with a puck moving Gilbert.

Walleedj

1.) Good proposal

2.) Caps already have center depth, especially with Kuznetsov entering his first full season. Alzner leaving would create a huge gap in their defense that can't be filled by a prospect. This would be a very bad deal for Washington.

3.) I think the caps want to compete and could use a proven center too play in their top 9 but that's not enough for Washington to move Alzner IMO

Here's a random 3 way trade

Montreal gets Evander Kane from Winnipeg

Winnipeg gets Emilem, Bourque, Reway and a 2nd in 2015 from Montreal + Petry and a 3rd in 2015 from Edmonton

Edmonton gets Plekanec, Nygren and a 3rd in 2016 from Montreal

Walleedj

1.) 1) when was the last time there was a 3 way trade?
2) Kane isn't going to go for scraps
3) only thing Jets get of value is a 2nd

2.) 24 Aug 2014 16:55:40
WPG's D isn't that bad, offense end especially goaltending is the problem there.
But the only "offense" they get back is Bourque, so doesn't really address their needs

3.) Petry and a third = Plekanec nygren and a tird no

4.) Kane has more value, the Jets aren't going to just give him away because you wear a habs jersey. Come on guy.

5.) So montreal trades Plekanec, Emelin, Bourque, Reway, Nygren, & 2nd & 3rd for Kane? No thx from habs

6.) 26 Aug 2014 00:25:09
You realize Montreal gives up way too much.

7.) 26 Aug 2014 07:46:57
@ you two habsfans: Quantity isn't quality. Just because MON gives like 10 pieces, doesn't mean they're getting Kane for that.
Or would you trade Pacioretty for let's say Arcobello, Gordon, 3rd, 4th, Oesterle, 6th, Gernat and 5th?

1. I dobt think Bouillion is going to make the team so I'll pick DD.
2. Gilbert Brule I think was a top 5 pick lol
3. Carey Price cause I think Montreal if healthy finishes top in east.
4. Sam Bennet cause he is way to small to play how he played in juniors in the nhl.
5. Seems I'm a biased Habs fan cause I said Price for most wins but I think Plekanec fits this category too. Backes is another as well
