Arizona Trades
Keller
Crouse
Schmaltz
Cooley (Big-10)

Toronto Trades
Matthews
WNylander

Would Arizona and Toronto have a true blockbuster like my proposal ?

It's the fun time to be an armchair GM and with all these players involved being possibly moved including Cooley staying in College, and not convinced he ever signs with Arizona would this work for both teams in there situations?

Thoughts ?

This does not make Arizona a playoff team so they decline.

- the whole league knows Matthews and Nylander aren’t winners, and both have one year left in their current deal.

- why would ARI trade 4 young building blocks and sacrifice their rebuild for salaries they can’t afford to pay?

Think it through Pinball…the rest of the league doesn’t exist to restock your leafs. You have to propose trades that make sense for both sides. This isn’t close to realistic bud.

?Homer Deals.

Matthews to ARI makes sense in terms of it making the franchise more money as a whole. Does it make them a playoff team. I truly don't know. They went 28-40-14 last season relying heavily on Keller. Could Arizona wait another year and take a run at him, absolutely. But for a team trying to create an argument as to why there should be hockey in the desert and increase revenue, adding a top player in the league would definitely help the case. especially one from the state. Like it's been stated on other things a deal would have to be in place or Toronto wouldn't get an ideal return for him. As for the trade itself don't see Arizona parting with any of those pieces except maybe Cooley and that would only be if they think he's not gonna sign with them at all. I think they have some of those big dead contracts coming off the books this season so they'd have the cap to make some moves. Don't think the Leafs package Matthews and Nylander in one deal, probably be two seperate deals.
