This is from a user on Twitter who supposedly has a good source with the Flames, he accurately predicted a lot of things within the same timeframe but obviously take it with a grain of salt. He says :

San Jose and Calgary discussed a possible trade involving Lindholm. Sharks offered Logan Couture and William Eklund for Elias Lindholm and Daniel Vladar. San Jose wanted to flip Elias Lindholm for futures and shed Couture’s contract (signed till he’s 38 @ 8mil) but the Flames refused.

Nikita Zadorov wants to re-sign in Calgary for as long as possible within the ballpark of 4.00AAV. He’s been helping Yegor Sharangovich get familiar with the city.
Insiders have been saying that the Flames have been getting lowballed hard because Conroy is a rookie GM. What do y’all think about these?

You'd have to think Calgary can do better than that. Even the standard TDL rental price of a 1st and a prospect is much better and I can't see any reason Calgary can't get that, so I think they'll do alright there.

I'm not a huge Zadorov fan, so I'd avoid that contract, but it probably isn't too bad unless they do go 8 years.

Zandorov=Gudas and Gudas got 4 so that’s fair. He’s also younger.

Eklund is a high end prospect and Couture had more points than Lindholm and Huberdeau last season. If Couture was a couple years younger I’d say it would be solid but he doesn’t really fit Calgary's timeline.

Agree with Ebs, Couture, at 34, is the kind of player that a contender would add at the deadline thinking he could push them over the top, not a long term add which Cgy would need in exchange for someone like Lindholm.

4m/ yr is high but is market value for Zadorov.

couture would have to agree which dont really see why he would. Calgary maybe declined before sj even discussing with couture. Like stl and krug. (stl) hey, krug, you've been traded to Philly. (krug) nope.
