Chi: mrazek, Phillips edm: Campbell, broberg, 1st, 26'2nd. Saves Edmonton 1.2mil, mrazek playing good this year and gives Edmonton in position to be free of all bit spinners contract after this year. add 22 year old nhl readyish defenseman. And Chicago gets more building blocks for ahl goalie making 5 mil for 3 and half more years. Probably a buyout after next year or after that.

Chi: Murphy, perry(50%) to tml: klingberg, domi, 3rd, 4th. Who knows who's on klingberg no trade clause but domi liked chicago. Tml save 700k and get solid rd and perry great 4th line and 2nd pp. Chicago just takes the worst contract this offseason, domi can play with Bedard and get a couple picks.

My thinking is they are fairly equal though different playing type but jarnkrok is almost double the salary and he has a ten team no trade but doubt Nashville is on the list and has room. hes signed for 3 years and basically the only player they can trade because t. o. gives everyone a ntc. anyone that gets him will be for peanuts like Lafferty.

Tor: nylander, brodie....chi: Allen, guttman, athanasiou. Chicago is stacked with young left de, Allen would be the first round pick, athanasiou scored 20 on a terrible team, guttman great bottom 6. Nylander is him, Toronto gets there cap relief. Chicago is rebuilding but I think nylander would still be young enough in a few years.

Nolan Allan, Cole Guttman and Andreas Athanasiou wouldn't be enough to fetch both Nylander and Brodie imo. I think Leafs say no. Good post though, completely different than what we normally see.

In this kind of cap environment it may be worth it to the leafs to take a lower return to move Nylander and Brodie to create the cap space to facilitate another move, so I can certainly see what you're getting at. Interesting take Shoots.

Wonder if chicago and Edmonton could do something involving puljuarvi and gustafsson. Would like to keep gustafsson but think chicago has the defensive depth to trade him. Chicago could offer puljuarvi a two or three year contract and Edmonton could save on cap this year and always in need of defense. Would like to see him with strome and debrincat.

Know killhorn has full Ntc and Brodie has 8 team no trade but value wise killhorn for Brodie and a 4th? Tampa needs rd and Calgary gets upgraded top 6 forward. I get tampa needs to shed money but if they could turn a trade for palat for a prospect or draft pick it could work.

Killorn has negative value. Brodie has positive. Brodie is a UFA next year which gives calgary breathing room. Flames are set down the left side. Flames already have an anchor contract in Neal.

How exactly does Killorn have negative value? He’llplay every game get about 40 points and is the best PKer on Tampa, who had a very good pk last year. Starting next year the NTC drops to a 16 team trade list.

Killorn has okay value. Solid player, 40 point C/ LW while also being good on the PK and just a fine two-way player.

Hmmm, the late 1st is for retaining. to take klingberg would cost Toronto stuff they don't have and a calgary - Toronto trade would have to be for equal money. If Toronto gets tanev at 50%, that's a 1st. To take klingberg leafs would have to add minten and a 3rd just for teams like sj and Chicago would be interested.

The Taney to Toronto seems fair, Toronto would give klingberg away for free if they could, so minten for tanev and 1st to clear room to get rid of a bad contract. Problem is Toronto doesn't want to trade picks or prospects so probably end up in New jersey. They have assets flames want and cap room. I was gonna say zadorov for klingberg, Robertson and a 2nd but leafs have none.

Well nurse is overpaid but last 3 years hes over .50 ppg and over +70. Hardly worst contract. And some people think Toronto is a cup contender and zadorov would be their 2nd best defenseman. Nurse should be around 6.5-7.

Faceoffs are important and 46% stinks, toews best ever at 63.1. Most 1st line centers would be at 53-54 . 46 is bad. that's why some people here have a bad misconception of lindholm. Old toews old kopitar, old Bergeron, they all have the same in common. End of game, 1 goal down and offensive zone f/ o, they there, defensive zone 1 goal up, they're there. That's a true 1st center. 54% or better and even better in bad spots.

On most draft rankings he was the best defenseman, though it was crazy varied. He will be very good and montreal already has giant offensive pieces so want equal de pieces. Size. Watching he really understands how hockey and quick, he'll should be a top 2, not dahlin or power but could develop to be better. Or could just be a journeyman. Who knows. Swiss . Rumor is that if fantilli went 2nd, Smith woulda be 3rd so team needs and likes are anybodys quess.
