CGY's Sean Monahan FOR either MTL's:

1) Jonathan Drouin
2) Evgeni Dadonov or
3) David Savard + Joel Armia

Maybe a 3rd Team gets involved to take on salary for CGY in exchange for a Pick(s)

Flames then Trade Kylington and/or Valimaki for Picks/Prospects to clear the remaining Cap Space needed, something like:

Valimaki for BUF's Brett Murray
Kylington for a mid-1st Round Pick/Prospect

TrevorA

1.) 18 Aug 2022 22:04:48
I find it funny how all you Flames fans were saying you’d get value for Monahan. As of now, it looks like Monahan + 1st for Future Considerations.

2.) 18 Aug 2022 22:33:54
I normally don’t reply to your posts, but you’re not getting an asset back for a a guy who is leading the league in serious hip surgeries.

Furthermore, why would CGY want an asset back? The whole point is to dump a bad contract, not replace it with another bad one.

CGY has a good thing going without adding any of these guys…with a 3rd team involved, or a 4th, or a 5th…

Enjoy the day, is this is a great day for CGY fans. Treliving has two firm hands on the steering wheel?.

3.) 18 Aug 2022 22:59:50
Hey HOCKEY DAD, I’ve got some good buds who are CGY fans, and most are pretty typical of most fan bases. There’s a couple here who are pretty out there, but most are just good ol’ Canadian hockey fans? You get those with any fan base. Cheers man?.

4.) 19 Aug 2022 01:10:02
In all fairness I’m pretty sure we said we could get Val if we were to retain 50% on Monahan (or Lucic for that matter) but the situation changed when we signed Kadri, so yes, it makes sense that we had to pay to have a Team take his full Cap Hit on

The reason I proposed taking bad contracts back was because MTL doesn’t have the Cap Space to take Monahan either, but I guess that’s their problem now and have been compensated to deal with it

Just thought French Guys like Drouin or Savard might be a good fit for Huberdeau or MTL would prefer to open up a spot for their young guys so might dump Dadonov or Armia who hasn’t played Great in MTL lately but has played well for Finland recently so maybe Tre would take the chance with him at 3RW

In any event, I was wrong and am Happy and Ginet k admit that. Thought we’d only need to come up with a few more million so would do that by dumping Kylington & Valimaki or Lucic, but this happened and that’s the cost to make room for the 2C we desperately needed. Kadri will help replace the edge we lost in the Top-6 from moving Tkachuk

Kudos and Much Respect to @Chickenfoot, you called it and deserve the credit ?‍♂️

Should be interesting to see how Monahan rebounds. He could do well and might surprise some ppl with MTL this year.

Two NJD + VAN Trades:

VAN's JT Miller @5.25/UFA2023 FOR
NJD's 2022 #2 Overall Pick Simon Nemec + LW Tomas Tatar @4.5/UFA2023

Vancouver Trades: $8.7 million
LD-Quinn Hughes @7.85/UFA2027
RD-Luke Schenn @850k/UFA2023
G-Michael DiPietro @840k/RFA2023

New Jersey Trades: $7.37 million
RW-Alexander Holtz @894k/RFA2025
LD-Kevin Bahl @795k/RFA2023
LD-Nikita Ohkotiuk @789/RFA2024
G-Nico Daws @850/RFA2024
LW-Miles Wood @3.2/UFA2023
RD-Damian Severson @4.17/UFA2023

JT Miller-J.Hughes-J.Bratt
Sharangovich-N.Hischier-O.Palat
A.Johnsson-E.Haula-D.Mercer
N.Foote-J.Boqvist-M.Mcleod
Scratches: Bastian-Zetterlund

R.Graves-D.Hamilton
Q.Hughes-J.Marino
Siegenthaler-L.Schenn
Scratch: B.Smith

VAN's 2 Year Rebuild + NJD's Cup Contention Years begin!

NJD signs JT Miller long-term for $8.5-9mil/yr + VAN receives 4 Top Prospects for the Price of 1 and contend for the Connor Bedard Lottery Sweepstakes banking on a quick turn around to success again when their current mid-20's forwards are still in their Peak Playing Years

TrevorA

1.) 17 Aug 2022 02:45:20
NJ overpays in both trades.

2.) 17 Aug 2022 06:20:32
So what would you change or if you combined the 2 what would take out!? Typically a Star Player on an expiring contract gets a 1st + a Decent Prospect

Tatar would be the best player for NJD to send the other way but should VAN be sending a Pick or Prospect and if so what/ who!?

Could take out Bahl in the 2nd Trade but $$$ needs to go the other way so Wood & Severson (maybe Marino instead) make the most sense. I’d hold on to Graves unless he + Zetterlund were to be Traded to CGY for Hanifin

NJD are just a few pieces away from being a scary good team. Not sure if having all 3 brothers together is the best idea but it’s fun to imagine and they’re all very good.

3.) 17 Aug 2022 09:54:47
Nemec for a rental?

4.) 17 Aug 2022 16:58:54
"NJD signs JT Miller long-term for $8.5-9mil/ yr"

I probably should have wrote it as a "Sign & Trade"

5.) 17 Aug 2022 23:00:00
The Price for JT Miller will have to be high as he just had a 1.24PPG = Top-10 Scorer and VAN could simply choose to re-sign him, since it doesn't sound like Miller wants to be moved, so it'd have to be an offer VAN can't refuse, especially on a Sign & Trade Deal

The Price for Quinn Hughes will have to be substantial as well, like the equivalent of at t=least THREE if not FOUR 1st Round Picks. He has to be considered one of the 7 Most Valuable D-Men in the League.

15 Aug 2022 16:11:19
TOR's Alex Kerfoot @3.75/UFA23 50% ret. FOR CGY's 2024-3rd Round Pick

CGY sends a 2022-7th Round Pick to BUF/ARI/ANA to retain 25% of Kerfoot's Cap Hit, acquiring him as a rental with a Cap Hit of just @875k to replace Jarnkrok's departure = insurance in case Monahan, Dube or Pelletier falter on the 2nd line or CGY can't land Stastny/TOR opens up $1.75mil to sign Rasmus Sandin

Jarnkrok-Tavares-Nylander
Engvall-Kampf-Aube-Kubel
Clifford-Gaudette-Simmonds

TrevorA

1.) 15 Aug 2022 23:09:33
Let's not forget TOR needs Cap Space and TOR Fans have been trying to dump Kerfoot for a couple years everyone.

Bjorkstrand & Pacioretti are both better and didn't return much either, so not sure what the expectation here is.

2.) 16 Aug 2022 03:48:26
Where does marner fit in.

Not much thought or effort.

3.) 16 Aug 2022 05:05:11
Didn’t see the need to include the set Top Line but here:

Bunting-Matthews-Marner.

15 Aug 2022 15:58:03
BUF's Peyton Krebs @863k/RFA2024 + Brett Murray @750k/RFA23 FOR
CGY's Jusso Valimaki @1.55/RAFA2023 + 2023-1st Round Pick + Jack Beck @ELC

BUF gets help on Defense, opens up a spot for Dylan Cozens on the 2nd line + re-unites Jack Beck & Jack Quinn (OTT 67's = instant Chemistry)/CGY brings Krebs back West = Young Playmaking Centre + Murray = Near Future Lucic Replacement

TrevorA

1.) 15 Aug 2022 17:51:55
Think they’d rather keep Krebs.

2.) 15 Aug 2022 20:55:16
Maybe, but they do seem light on Defence and Heavy on Forward Prospects

I find the problem with Teams like OTT, ARI & BUF who acquire so many Picks is that they get so much talent but not enough room to play and properly develop them, so many get missed and wasted unless they’re just stand outs

Like if Formenton is supposedly a better player than Dillon Dube then why has he played 1/ 2 as many games when they’ve both been active players for the past 4 years. You’d think Formenton would get way more opportunity given OTT isn’t very good…

Not knocking Formenton, but Dube’s definitely more more experienced, consistent and the better player overall.

3.) 16 Aug 2022 01:58:28
TrevorA Calgary might have had better top end players for the last few years but in terms of pure depth, Ottawa has them beat by a mile. That plays a huge factor in why Formenton hasn't exactly had the opportunity to showcase his talent. He's competing with Norris, Batherson, Pinto, Stutzle, Tkachuk, Joseph/ Paul, etc plus all the older bums the sens overpay that the coach favours for some stupid reason that is way beyond me like Teirney, White, Watson, Ennis, etc for those minutes, what's Dube had to compete with? Mangiapane, Lindholm, Gaudreau, and Tkachuk? And their coach ain't afraid to play the kids to boot.

That part aside, he's also had injury and c.v. set backs.

And for the record, Dube is 2 years older than Formenton, that also makes a huge difference. Formenton is 22 years old with 109 NHL games to his credit. While Dube at 22 years old only had 70 NHL games to his credit and not at age 24 he only has another 130 on top for a total of 200 games in twice the amount of time playing and having more on ice minutes. Based on ppg, if you add the difference in games played to Formenton to project where he'd be at even games played to Dube based on ppg projections to what he's done so far, they roughly be equal in that category with Formenton doing it on the 3rd line behind a quality top 6.

I'm not going to pretend I know Calgarys lineup as well because I don't but I think is safe to say Dube has also played a lot more top 6 minutes than Formenton as well giving him a very clear advantage that didn't really help him extend that gap which is more credit to Formenton.

So yeah, 100% Formenton is the better player no doubt about it. And that also just goes to show that I am right about you seriously overvaluing Calgary players and or undercutting Ottawa players who are clearly superior.

4.) 16 Aug 2022 05:34:52
Formenton & Dube can’t compete or be compared to Stars like Tkachuk, Norris, Stutzle or Batherson never mind Mangiapane or Lindholm, let alone Super Stars like Gaudreau & M. Tkachuk

What competition with Pinto? He has been injured the majority of the time opening up opportunity for Formenton and other prospects. Joseph! He just joined OTT. Paul? He’s a Big Hitting Centre which are harder to find than LW’s. There’s more to the game of Hockey than just Killing Penalties and Scoring short Handed because you’re fast. What about at Even Strength when the majority of the game is played!?

You definitely don’t know the Flames, Coach Sutter or Dillon Dube who’s only 1 year older. Formenton had a Very Good Year, identical Goals & Points to Dube who played mainly 3rd & 4th line minutes; his ATOI was 12:50 vs Formenton’s 15:27, that’s 21% more Ice Time = it’s the same as playing 16 more games than Dube…

Dube had a Better Point Share, Shot % and FaceOff% and can play Centre

Value wise, they’re Pretty Close because of Age & Cap Hit, but I give the edge to Dube because he’s shown an upward and consistent trajectory whereas Formenton so far has only had 1 Good Season. What we’re taking about though is who’s the Better Player right now and overall that’s Dillon Dube

Like Chicken always says, if Formenton is so Great, why not keep him!? The fact that he wasn’t able to impress and steal a spot from the older bums proves my point that you can have all the depth you want but if you don’t use it, let them play and develop, it won’t be found and/ or can be lost for a few different reasons

I don’t think I under value OTT Players or Prospects but I will say many haven’t proven anything in the NHL yet. 1 Year or a few Games doesn’t do it for me. They need to prove they will be both NHL regulars and consistent & reliable contributors.

5.) 16 Aug 2022 05:50:30
Like look at 2017-2018:

Formenton 29G+19A=48PTS/ 48GP = 1.00PPG
Dube 38G+46A=94PTS/ 53GP = 1.585PPG

Wanna compare Dube’s previous Season, sure:
Dube 20G+35A=55PTS/ 40GP = 1.375PPG

Dube out performed Formenton on Team Canada U20 and significantly in the AHL as well

Formenton put up 4G in 13GP in the AHL last season. Again, Very Good Season, but let’s see if he can do it again and what Dube does and then we can talk k.

6.) 16 Aug 2022 23:01:04
TrevorA Dube is 24 years old while Formenton is 22 years old first off, when I went to school that math works out to a 2 year age gap NOT 1.

Secondly, I'll give you the AHL thing but fact is Dube wasn't in AHL long enough to get a legit points per game average. Anyone can put up half season stats like that but few can sustain it.

As for their 1st 2 years each, and I'm talking legit years, NOT 10 games or less that don't even count as rookie seasons lol Formenton has Dube beat all damn day.

Dube season one 25 game played 5 points, season two 45 games played 16 points.

Formenton season one 20 games played 6 points, season 2 79 games played 32 points (which by the way completely matches Dubes last season exactly with 79 games played and 32 points) thus proving my point yet again.

It litteraly took Formenton 2 seasons in, to do what Dube litteraly took 4 seasons to accomplish an 2 years older than him lol.

As for the why not keep Fomenton? Because Pinto and Grieg will be even better and Grieg makes Formenton expendable and makes him a tremendous piece of trade bait to use in acquiring a serious team need like a Jacob Chychrun. Grieg can replace Formenton, but he can't replace Pinto as Pinto is a Center. That's why Formenton. And be pretty stupid to bring up Grieg for 4th line. Top 6 is pretty well set in stone and with 4 quality 3rd line guys it's a big waste to drop 1 to 4th line and decrease his current value. Better to trade 1 for need while he's worth a lot that's why.

7.) 16 Aug 2022 23:14:53
Talk about underrating Calgary Picks & Prospects, I can't even over pay to buy a couple Prospects on this site lol

Krebs = 17th Overall in 2019
Murray = 99th Overall in 2016

Yet, I'm offering:

A 20th-32nd Overall Pick in 2023
Valimaki = 16th Overall in 2017
Beck = 168th Overall, but scored 22G+22A=44PTS/ 36GP and was invited to Hockey Canada's World Junior Summer Camp

For those who don't know or Valimaki, he's better than 2019-19th Overall Pick Lassi Thompson who MyBad highly touts; he just hasn't been able to crack Calgary's Full-Time Roster due to injury, the amount of competition they have at D and the fact Sutter prefers Veterans and to develop Young Players longer in the AHL. Maki'd have a much better opportunity and would excel in Buffalo

Whereas Krebs is the odd man out, taking up Victor Olofsson's spot and preventing better players like Jack Quinn, Kyle Okposo and Vinny Hinostroza from moving up and/ or Top Prospects like any of John-Jason Peterka, Isak Rosen, Brandon Biro, Prokhar Poltapov, Alexander Kisakov and Olivier Nadeau from getting a look at the same time

This Trade should be a no brainer as Valimaki is definitely better than Jacob Bryson and Casey Fitzgerald and should easily beat out Mattias Samuelsson, Kale Clague and Jeremy Davies for BUF's 5th, 6th and certainly 7th D-Man Roster Spots. Not to mention he already has familiarity with Finnish Teammates Henri Jokiharju, Ukko Pekka-Luukkonen and Oskari Laaksonen.

8.) 17 Aug 2022 02:51:36
Dube was Born July 20th 1998
vs.
Formenton September 13th 1999

Dube is 1 year and 2 months older, sorry I didn’t include the 2 months, thought you would look it up and would do the math lol

Dube’s better man. Good for Formenton having the year he did, but like you said “Anyone can put up half season stats like that but few can sustain it. ” I ask again, will Formenton!?

Dube didn’t need time in the AHL because he was ready for the NHL whereas Formenton obviously was not. Not like 4G+0A=4PTS in 14 Games is killing it in the AHL either btw.

Time will tell who will be better in the future but up until and including now, Dube > Formenton.

9.) 17 Aug 2022 17:31:48
Formenton should be the one moved to make space for Joseph at 3LW because he's weaker defensively at Even Strength and there'll be no room for him in the Top-6 for the foreseeable future

It's a good assumption that Greig will be better some day, but that's not a guarantee + at only 21 he needs a couple more years to fill out and play some Professional AHL Hockey. Guys like Kastelic, Sokolov, Lodin, Reinhardt, Hawryluk & Chartier should be called up for Bottom-6 roles before Greig

It's amazing how we value Pinto so much because he plays Centre, yet he hasn't really done much in the NHL yet with just 1 Goal & 8 Points in 17GP over 2 NHL Seasons. Centre's are more valuable though and guess what!? Dube's a Centre!

I also find it interesting you feel Dube should have proven himself more consistent in the AHL as if 56 Points in 56GP over 3 seasons wasn't sufficient; comparatively Formenton put up 57 AHL Points in 76GP over 3 Season = 35%/ 20 more AHL Games Played to put up the same amount of points. This is very similar to this NHL season, where Formenton received 21% more playing time = the equivalent of playing 16-17 more games than Dube did this season to score the same amount of Goals & Points.

Formenton has had 1 Good Season, but let's see if he can replicate it and be consistent before assuming he's the Better Player and Top-6 ready. I think Dube has a Breakout Season if he gets the 15:00+ mins ATOI like Formenton got this year AND Dube won't be as much of a Defensive liability at Even Strength either, since he is the Better Player.

BOS Trades: $9.1 million
LW-Taylor Hall @6mil/UFA2025
RW/C-Craig Smith @3.1mil/UFA2023

CGY Trades: $7.575 million
LD-Noah Hanifin @4.95mil/UFA2024
LW-Milan Lucic @5.25mil/UFA2023 (50% Ret)

Optional: Jusso Valimaki @1.55/RFA2023 + Late Pick/Prosepect FOR Derek Forbort @3mil/UFA2024 (25-33% Ret. = $2-2.25mil)

BOS needs to clear $1.25-2.25mil in Cap Space. CGY needs to improve at Forward and should move either Kylington or Hanifin. Cap Space is valuable, this be the cost

Huberdeau-Lindholm-Mangiapane
T.Hall-C.Smith/P.Stastny-T.Toffoli
Dube-Backlund-Coleman
Rooney-Ruzicka-Lewis

Weegar-Andersson
Kylington-Zadorov/Tanev
Forbort-Meloche/Zadorov
Mackey

TrevorA

1.) 13 Aug 2022 03:35:09
Well that one went up like a lead balloon lol.

2.) 15 Aug 2022 15:08:28
Not exactly sure why though.

I agree rumors of Lucic going to BOS are probably clickbait + at 5.25mil he's negative value, but at 50% retained as I've proposed, he still has value

BOS is loaded at LW (Marchand, Hall, DeBrusk & Zacha) so can afford to move one. They're also loaded at LD, but aside from Lindholm (maybe Grzelcyk), none are Great Top-4 D-Men. In fact Hanifin > Lindholm

Hanifin might not score as many Goals as Chychrun, but he's just as, if not more valuable since he's reliable & doesn't get injured as much. He had a Great Season coming out of Giordano's shadow and is entering his prime years whereas Hall will be 31 in November, so is at the end of his Peak Years, so Hanifin >> Hall

Craig Smith will be 33 in September, but given Sutter likes his Veterans, he & Hall would fit in well in CGY + we need a 2C & Playmaker which is what they would bring

BOS gets a $6.5-7.5/ year D-Man @ $4.95mil + Saves $1.525mil in Cap Space (which they need) + Make their Veteran Players Happy with Lucic's return. There's certainly better targets for CGY, including Carlo & Zacha from BOS, but these 2 make some sense

If BOS could move Reilly & Forbort for Picks/ Prospects then Sign Kessel/ Rodrigues/ Milano & Subban, they'd be looking much better:

Marchand-Bergeron-Pastrnak
DeBrusk-Krejci-Kessel/ Rodrigues/ Milano
Zacha-Coyle-Steen
Lucic-Frederic/ Nosek-Foligno (Dump or Buy Out)

N. Hanifin-McAvoy
Lindholm-Carlo
Grzelcyk-PK Subban
Zboril-Clifton

This makes them contenders for 1 last season, but what happens in BOS next off-season is anyone's guess, since the majority of their Forward contracts expire after this upcoming season.

Not a Trade, but a Proposal:

Flames should sign Former Hitmen Jake Virtanen to help revive his career after his recent Not Guilty verdict

TrevorA

1.) 27 Jul 2022 13:18:53
He could be a physical threat under Sutter. Virtanen reminds me of Ferland a lot

2.) 27 Jul 2022 16:00:13
That's an interesting idea.

3.) 29 Jul 2022 02:05:40
Sign both Kadri and Virtanen, then trade Backlund and Kylington for some combination of picks prospects and low cost depth players.

Huberdeau - Lindholm - Toffoli
Mangiapane - Kadri - Coleman
Pelletier - Monahan - Virtanen
Rooney - Ruzicka - Dueher/ Lewis

Hanifin - Andersson
Zadorov - Weegar
Mackey - Tanev

Tanev gets his ice time reduced to keep him healthy. He'd still be on the first PK and he's proven to be a really good fit with rookie defensemen. Mackey likes to hit and adds some snarl to the pairing.

That's better than last year's team and without taking into consideration what they get for the players traded away. If Monahan rebounds or they can find a way to recover Monny or Looch's cap hit it gets even better.

4.) 03 Aug 2022 00:43:45
Actually I think Mangiapane would be a better fit as first line RW.

Huberdeau - Lindholm - Mangiapane
Toffoli - Kadri - Coleman
Pelletier - Monahan - Virtanen
Rooney - Ruzicka - Dueher/ Lewis

Maybe Pelletier on the second line and Toffoli or Coleman on the 3rd line.

CGY Trades Future Considerations = A Bag of Pucks To STL for James Neal @$750k/UFA2022 (conditional to Neal only being on the ice when the puck is in the Opponents Zone & on Power Play's).

I certainly didn't like Neal @5.75mil/yr and know he's a 5on5 Defensive Liability, but he's a Super Cheap Sniper & Front of the Net Presence the Flames could probably use right now, just not sure he'd be welcomed or want to come back.

CGY should also try Zadorov on the PP since Kylington, Hanifin & Anderson have only scored 1 Goal combined on the PP this year.

I also propose BANNING Monahan, Lucic, Dube & Ritchie from playing together unless Backlund is Centering them.

Now who wants Tyler Pitlick!?! Condition: The Deal MUST include a 1st RD Pick!

TrevorA

20 Nov 2021 19:12:28
So many upcoming 2022 UFA & RFA's have re-signed extensions already, not waiting for the trade deadline or off-season:

Adam Fox-7yrs x 9.5mil
Charlie McAvoy-8yrs x 9.5mil
Kirill Kaprizoc-5yrs x 9mil
Mika Zibanejad-8yrs x 8.5mil
Brady Tkachuk-8yrs x 8.2mil
Nick Suzuki-8yrs @ 7.9 mil
Morgan Reilly-8yrs x 7.5mil
Elias Petterson-3yrs x 7.325mil; etc.

But Johnny Gaureau and Matthew Tkachuk have not, which is concerning to me...

I understand waiting on Andrew Mangiapane & Oliver Kylington to see if they sustain their play and because they're RFA's, but I'm really worried about the other two.

Gaudreau is probably worth 7-7.35mil for 5-7 years and Tkachuk will want 9-9.5+mil for 5-8 years IMO. I don't see there being enough to sign Gaudreau, Tkachuk, Mangiapane and Kylington unless players like Monhahan, Lucic, Zadorov & Pitlick are moved or let go at free agency for nothing.

I'm specifically worried about Johnny Hockey walking away for nothing in return (like John Tavares) and/or Matthew Tkachuk holds out next year (like his Brother Brady and William Nylander), so who should be traded and for what!?

My Star Targets (no set order) are:
William Nylander/Travis Konecny/Vladimir Tarasenko/Taylor Hall/Boone Jenner/Peyton Krebs/Lucas Raymond/Sam Reinhart/Brendan Gallagher/Nikolaj Ehlers/Kyle Connor/Tom Wilson/Max Pacioretty/Jonathan Marchessault/Brock Boeser/Gabriel Landeskog/Nathan MacKinnon

Tkachuk should bring in much more because of his age, skill and tenacity as in one of the above + 2 1st Round Draft Picks (is his value =, > or < than Jack Eichel?), but the bottom line for me is if he wants to hold out on Calgary or fleece them to stay, he can go IMO and if Gaudreau walks for nothing, I will be choked! Thoughts!?

TrevorA

1.) 20 Nov 2021 21:50:57
I think Gaudreau is likely to walk at the end of the season, while Matthew will hold out like Brady and will end up costing Calgary much more that he can ever live up to.

I think you're overvaluing Matthew by a fair bit as well. I don't see any of the teams you list giving you one of those players plus 2 firsts on top of it. There are 5 players for sure on that list that are worth more than Tkachuk by themselves.

Extremely unlikely you get more for Tkachuk than Buffalo got for Eichel.

Other than that, I can understand your concern.

Losing Muzzin without getting another Big Physical Penalty Killer to replace him would be a bad idea. Muzzin had a bad year and yes was concussed, but he’s no Cap Dump.

Relax, it’s just a thought/ prediction/ opinion, I could be wrong, it happens. I guess we’ll see, time will tell

Matthews likes to party all over the place. Toronto, Phoenix and I see him a lot in Vegas going to UFC Fights

I think Canada has its deterrents for American players, especially with the restrictions and border control happening as a result of c.v.. Tougher to come & go and be free, especially trying to bring friends and family up to Canada, so I understand why many try to avoid playing and living in Canada. Probably a Big reason why Gaudreau decided to sign south of the border too.

St Albert, Sherwood Park, Fort Saskatchewan, Leduc or Devon are all smaller but still close to Edmonton. A bit further out, you’ve got Spruce Grove or LaCombe.

Airdrie, Cochrane, Okotoks/High River, Langdon all surround Calgary. Strathmore is a bit further out or you could retire in Canmore, but it can be pricey.

Lethbridge is far south and windy. Cold Lake is pretty far north near the Saskatchewan border and Fort Mac is even farther north. Nice in summer, but super cold winters and hours away from Edmonton.
