Why would Calgary give up anything to take on a cap dump? You would have to think there would need to be one heck of a serious add from Montreal to rid themselves of the rest of this year and another 4 of Anderson's contract.
Maybe NotACasual would disagree, but I can't see it.

Flames won't trade Dustin Wolf, he's untouchable especially in a trade for Anderson.

The Habs are a wild this year. I'm happy there letting the kids play. They will ultimately be competing for bottom 5 in the league however I really believe certain kids will thrive. Take the pittsburgh game. We lost two games in a row where we couldn't score, and went 2 periods without a break. We started the 3rd and showed some heart. As long as we try and win and show some fight i'm 100% in. Let's see how our d play 82 games, build chemistry and show some promise. Ghule and Harris look good, Arber looks a little lost out there, however I'm convinced once edmunston returns He will be paired with him.
On Offense Dadanov seems like he fucked around all offseason and needed to lose weight. He's slowly looking better and better he kinda reminds me of armia but with more upside. Slavfkovsky should go to the AHL. He's 18 and should play big minutes and get used to winning. Monahan hasn't missed a beat, He's standing out in all the right ways. If he can stay healthy I think we're going to resign him. Dach scored the other night on the powerplay to finish the comeback in overtime. Thank you chicago. Goaltending is alright, Allen and Montembault both have a win so that's a start.

I would like to see Montreal TRADE Gallagher to Edmonton. I know it's probably unlikely, but if montreal retains would it be better to get him now or at the trade deadline?

At the deadline so teams can see how his season goes. 50% retained might still be too expensive if he’s only a 30-40 point guy.

0-4 to start the season,
we supposedly got fire power but there's not much going on. I know it's early but maybe we can switch up the lines a bit. Last years glory is obviously not working.
Toffoli-dvorak-gallager (gritty first liners ( maybe not dvorak but he wins the most faceoffs so far) able to score and shut down first lines
drouin-suzuki-anderson ( make or break line, prove why you belong line)
hoffman-brooks-caufield (let them play with no pressure and bring up a center with dangerous wings for once )
armia-evans-lehkonen ( 4th responsible kill line with upside )
on the defense
it's tricky with not many options
ben chiarot - jeff petry (proven players, may not have chemistry but show the kids how it's done, shut down, play hard and step up)
romanov - savard (play smart, try not to lose your spot)
kulak - wideman (only play more than 10 minutes if were up a few goals)
right now we don't have many options, we have injuries to key player yet will byron, or edmunston really change much?
looking at this team I expected more, atleast on offence, should we fire the coach? are our players not buying in?
let me know what you think?

Hard to put my finger on it. Maybe leadership is the issue? They’re missing Price and Weber, not to mention Perry and Danault left for free agency. Lost a lot of big voices in the locker room. It’s still early, they can turn it around and have the right players to do so.

Edmunson will really help on D, I beleive he is very underrated. However, he doesn't score.
Last year a lot of guys had career years, and just everything went right. This year absolutely nothing is going right.
As for some of your lines., I guess it wouldn't hurt to mix things up.
They should score more, the problem i see is yes they have talented wingers, just really no stars, eventually hopefully Caufield can become one. Also, once again, at center, other than Suzuki ( eben though he's been crap) maybe Dvorak will be ok, its just a weak center group, no stars.
I think a big shakeup is needed,
Maybe they need to explore the Jack Eichel trade. However, i'm also skeptical on that. Maybe if they continue this way, they will get their star in Shane Wright. . Who knows., only thing I'm certain of is this team will be NOT make the playoffs. Might be early, but other teams are just to strong.

That lineup actually looks deeper than I thought it was. Just need to add a real game changer. Scariest part is with Suzuki, Caufield and Romonov on the team, the prospect pool is empty no?

Ebs, still some decent prospects, just no one that is a game changer. Guhle looks really good on D, they seem to have a few decent guys on defence.
Up front looks like much of the same for Habs, lots of 3rd to 4th line ( and those are high expectations IMO) . But I can't think of any top 6 potential guys. Maybe Habby could help me on this one.

as much as i like hayes, petrys traded to a contender if traded at all. The least montreal can do for his service over the years. Didn't montreal pick him up for nothing?

no for sure, i feel on d there's a lot of optimism but no proven players. A true only time will tell. Eitehr way I feel pretty confident this management group is gunna bring us to glory. Blows my mind bergevin did this all alone and now we have like a dozen people filling roles.

I mean it can't be comparable. It's a complete different league and we can talk and assume till we're blue in the face. I hope he beats it if he doesn't hell be the closest to for the next 100 years.
