I think what you're giving for 2nd overall pick has more value then what you're giving for 1st overall pick. Swap the two & the value may be closer

Actually everyone, that is just about what was needed to acquire Lindros (Chris Simon, Mike Ricci, Kerry Huffman, Ron Hextall, Peter Forsberg, Steve Duchesne, future considerations, 1st 1993, 1st 1994 & cash). I know that the common feeling is the team with the best player wins the trade but that is a lot of current talent and future picks. IMO, if it were the sabres who had the 1st over all, Murray would pass, he has a lot of prospects who could be 2nd/3rd line forwards, #2 D-men, 3rd line power-forwards and 3rd line C. But if the offer was Alex Galchenyuk, Nathan Beaulieu, Zachary Fucale, 1st & 2nd (BUF) 2015, and 1st 2017 it would be hard to pass up.

To Bring_back_JFKyoucanhavebieber I think PHI got what it wanted. Who made out better in the trade Quebec or PHI? Well the obvious answer is Colorado!! But to the point, is it a possible trade? Yes! It is not a pipe dream it could happen. Finally, in the Lindros trade 8 assets were traded for one player.
