Where there's smoke there's fire. Montreal are loading up on depth defenders and are reportedly still on the search for more so it appears as if Alexie Emelin has played his last games with the Habs. Chairelli wants to make Edmonton bigger and harder to play against.

Montreal trades Alexie Emelin to Edmonton in exchange for Nail Yakupov

Marc Bergevin is clearly all in this season and I could see him trying to steal Kane from Buffalo, who are also looking to bolster their blue line .

Montreal trades Alexie Emelin a second round draft pick and a prospect like Charles Hudon or Jacob de la Rode to the Buffalo Sabers in exchange for the troubled forward in Evander Kane who they want to trade.

Emilin and his contract is the LAST thing P. C is looking for right now. Emilin is a 5/ 6 on damn well every team and the Oilers have ZERO need or want for him.
He tried moving Yak at deadline but best offer was a very late second. And turned it down. Don't be surprised now if Yak starts the season with the Oilers, P. C is not just going to basically give him away.

beaulieu is second pairing D for sure with the possibility of a first pair D not guaranteed but looking like more and more, i bet Edmonton jumps at that deal, problem is habs would pass almost guaranteed, it would be more like KlefBom, or Davidson, and RNH or HALL edmontons 4th, habs 9th suban, maybe a 5th or 6th and just to be clear that would be a BIG no from me, but that's what it would take.

A lot went on in the last 2 months. Tarasenko had a kid, was the target of every team for three rounds lites it up first two then gets shut down in third by good defense and cheap shots, yes this mean been burns punch to the ribs.

I think it's funny that everyone thinks he is available now, a 40 goal scorer and playoff standout because he got frustrated in a series. Lol good luck with that

In regards to the post hilarious. Blues wouldn't want subban tarasenko is worth more than any player on Montreal team.

What makes you think for a second that Carey Price is going to milk the Montréal Canadiens for all he can? What makes you think he's as selfish as PK Subban? Because "he's what makes the team"? Funny, Pacioretty signed @ 4.5M$ long-term after coming off a 30+ goal season, proving he was Montreal's offensive future. No. Carey Price will sign for 8-10M$ tops.

There is a deal or two that could definitely come to fruition between the Habs and Oilers. I don't believe it will be the big subban trade however it will be very significant.

Chairelli knows the Habs all too well, I believe he should ship Yakupov to Montreal in exchange for Lars Eller and a second round pick.

This could easily set up Bergevin to sign Galchenyuk to a long term deal for a relatively cheap, and then having the same effect on Yakupov.

Chairelli is getting forward Lars Eller in return who is very defensively responsible and will fit in great on a team that has no shortage of offensive talent. The second round pick will put this deal over the edge if Bergevin is willing to part ways with it.

The sooner this happens the better. Let me know what you think, cheers!

Good trade, fills the LW position on the 2nd line. Still think the Habs and Oilers should make a trade involving the 4th and 9th overall pick. Oilers need to pick a D and Habs need Dubois, i could see something along the lines of :
MTL : Eller + Beaulieu + 2nd 2016 + 9th overall
EDM : Yak + 4th overall.

To move up 5 spaces you're going to need a lot more than Left handed Nathan Beaulieu. The Oilers won't even have a chance to draft Chychrun maybe not even Juolevi at 9, you're going to have to add, for us to drop.

I'd like to see a trade go down between Carolina and Montreal centering around Thomas Plekanec going to Carolina and Jeff Skinner coming to Montreal, the hurricanes are pretty weak on defense and goaltending as well.

These teams will continue talks over the summer and at the draft.

From Montreal: Greg Pateryn and Bryan Flynn

From Edmonton: Nail Yakupov and a 2017 4th.

I wouldn't give up Greg for yakupov. Yakupov is a bust. A 3rd liner who can't play defense who hasn't proven anything Edmonton would be wise to take a 2nd round pick at the draft an move on.
