Toronto Trades
Kerfoot
Simmonds
Hirvonen (SML)
Niemela (SML)
1st Round Pick 2024

Vancouver Trades
JTMiller
LKarlsson (SHL)
4th Round Pick 2023

If The Canucks do in fact trade JTMiller, they will want a lot in a trade, this proposal does that and getting all this would be a huge step forward to there future.

The Leafs are rolling the dice on this one sending 2 top prospects plus a 1st Rounder, but getting JTMiller probably for only 1 season is still worth the gamble, LKarlsson like Pontus Holmberg are bubble players who will be NHLers this or next season.

VAN will probably want more like:

LW/ C-Kerfoot @3.5/ UFA2023
LW/ C-Engvall @2.25/ UFA2023
G-Woll @767k/ RFA2025
C/ LW-Knies @Signing Rights
1st Round Pick-TOR
FOR
LW/ C-JT Miller @5.25/ UFA2023
G-M. DiPietro @840k/ RFA2023
3rd/ 4th Round Pick-VAN

Niemela & Hirvonen are simply too small. They may include Karlsson is you take out the 3rd/ 4th Round Pick-VAN.

Ya Gaudreau and Spurgeon are to small to make The NHL as well.
Niemela might have more of a hard go but He is still a Top Prospect, and Hirvonen plays an intense game that shows a lot for his future, both players will also fill out and get stronger and to think neither player won't be in The NHL means neither would have been drafted, which doesn't make sense.
As for Knies I wouldn't trade him straight up for JTMiller and LKarlsson, he is going to be a special player.

I didn't say they wouldn't or don't have a chance to make the NHL, I said they're simply too small for VAN to consider moving JT Miller for. Size is a factor and does matter after all

Unlike Gaudreau & Spurgeon, these two are from Finland where the game is far less physical. I find the majority of Finnish Players have a difficult time adjusting to the North American Game

There's always the exception, but in this case, VAN is not going to move a Top-10 Scorer to take a chance like that, they are going to want something significant, like Matthew Knies, especially if they're only getting a late 1st Round Pick

NJD are also looking for a Star PPG LW and have a MUCH BETTER chance of Trading for JT Miller by simply dangling 2nd Overall Pick Simon Nemec + they can afford to sign JT long-term and would simply ship Tomas Tatar the other way to make the $$$ work

Heck, NJD has enough Picks & Prospects they can probably put a package together to get both JT Miller AND Quinn Hughes (to re-unite him with Jack & Luke) from VAN if they wanted

TOR doesn't have the Prospect Pool or Prospects to compete with most Teams to acquire a Star like JT Miller. VAN wants Top Quality not a shot in the dark bunch of Quantity + UFA Rentals

Go ahead, keep Knies, but the window in TOR is closing and the rebuild is rapidly approaching. You've got 1, maybe 2 more Seasons left to go for it before you're left with just Marner, Tavares, Jarnkrok and Reilly. Better to go for it this year and then tear it all down by moving Matthews, Nylander & Brodie to replenish all TOR's Top Picks & Rebuild Weak Prospect Pool.

Saying Mathews will leave is pretty ignorant it’s far from a forgone conclusion. He enjoys a nice lifestyle partying with Drake and Justin beiber at the rebel night club in Toronto he loves the spot light. I personally think he takes a near max contract around 15 mil per over 8 years in Toronto. Could he go to Arizona or Tampa? Sure but that’s speculation.

Relax, it’s just a thought/ prediction/ opinion, I could be wrong, it happens. I guess we’ll see, time will tell

Matthews likes to party all over the place. Toronto, Phoenix and I see him a lot in Vegas going to UFC Fights

I think Canada has its deterrents for American players, especially with the restrictions and border control happening as a result of c.v.. Tougher to come & go and be free, especially trying to bring friends and family up to Canada, so I understand why many try to avoid playing and living in Canada. Probably a Big reason why Gaudreau decided to sign south of the border too.

This isn't even a conversation... L Karlsson beat EP40's record in the SHL... give your head a shake...
