Ottawa trades:
Jason Spezza
Ales Hemsky (rights)
to
Anaheim for:
Luca Sbisa
Jesse Blacker
24th overall pick
1.) That's pretty bad for ottawa
2.) Yea ANA adds getz and maybee ottawa will think about it
3.) Sbisa is a nice piece, but anaheim adds, not sure if anaheim would be interested in hemsky or not either
4.) Sbisa's trade value is down do to his 2 past seasons of bellow average play.
5.) Ottawa will not get the offers they expect for Spezza. There is no way Anaheim will give up their current young roster players like Etem, Lindholm, Vatenan, or Smith-Pelly for Spezza. Although Spezza helps Anaheim, Ottawa needs defensive help. If it makes it at all better, change the 24th pick to the 10th pick That is the most I think Anaheim should give up though.
6.) OMG, homers you can't get something good without giving up something good. Spezza is a point a game center. He is not old, he's top 5 in face off % and he is 6'3 220. He will get a good prospect, a roster player and a 1st rounder. Only way Ducks get him is by giving up something.

Anaheim: 1st 2014 (Anaheim)
Winnipeg: Dustin Byfuglien
Anaheim: Sheldon Souray (50% retained)
Toronto: 3rd or 4th
Anaheim: Bryan Allen (50% retained)
Edmonton: 3rd or 4th
Anaheim: Mathieu Perreault
Any Team: 3rd or 4th
Anaheim signs:
Jay McClement - 2 years/$3M
Stephane Robidas - 1 year/$3M
Matt Moulson - 5 years/$25M
Jakub Silfverberg - 2 years/$4M
Let walk:
Jonas Hiller
Teemu Selanne (retire)
Saku Koivu (retire)
Daniel Winnik
Anaheim 2014/2015 season:
Byfuglien - Getzlaf - Perry
Moulson - Bonino - Silfverberg
Beleskey - Cogliano - Etem
Maroon - McClement - Jackman
Fowler - Beauchemin
Vatenan - Lindholm
Robidas - Lovejoy
Frederik Anderson
John Gibson
Please let me know via comments/replies if these are realistic or not and what should be changed. Cheers.
1.) Byfuglien would probably fetch more than a late first rounder. I can't see the leafs being interested in Souray, and I think they'd be making a mistake if they don't resign McClement
2.) I think It might take a little more than a late puck to get big buff. Could see the sens pick going back for buff
3.) Id give etem a shot in the top 6 before signing a UFA to a big deal. I feel he could compliment silverberg nicely with his blend of size and speed
4.) Can the people the voted "Unbelievable" please give me some reasons as to why?
5.) I noticed that Sbisa is not in the line up, you are essentially dumping Perreault and your trade retains 50% of Souray's and Allen's contracts. I posted a similar trade earlier, I think it is good for both teams: Marcus Foligno $826, 667, Mike Weber, $1, 666, 667; & Jerome Gauthier-Leduc, $635,000; to ANA for Luca Sbisa, D-L $2, 175,000; Bryan Allen, D-L $3, 500,000; Sheldon Souray D-L $3, 666, 667 & 2nd ($9, 341, 667 - $2, 493, 334 = $6, 848, 333). AMD frees up $7MM salary and receives a hard nose left winger, a hard checking defense-man and a defense-man prospect. Change the 2nd to a 4th and include Mathieu Perreault with this trade. Buffalo gets players to reach the cap floor and takes a chance on Sbisa. I welcome all comments not just unbelievable please tell me why!
6.) Leafs will resign McClement
7.) Ducks could get more out of the leafs possibly kadri or gardiner along with that 3rd
8.) Phaneuf for Souray
9.) Buff for 1 rd pick (ottawa) and Sbisa

From a Ducks fan's perspective:
Anaheim trades:
Patrick Maroon
Rikard Rakell
4th round pick
New York trades:
Thomas Vanek
1.) How about now.
A 1st, and 2nd will get it done.
2.) From everyone else's perspective: It's Thomas Vanek, not Josh Bailey. You'll need to give up value.
3.) Clearly Garth Snow didn't think so before he accepted a 2nd round pick and a prospect from the second round.
Rakell is easily a B prospect, Maroon is a 3rd-4th line roster player, and a first round pick.

Anaheim trades:
Victor Fasth
Rickard Rakell
to
Winnipeg for:
Andrew Ladd
13 Jan 2014 17:45:58
Anaheim trades:
Sheldon Souray
1st 2014 (Anaheim, conditional if Girardi re-signs, if not, the pick becomes a 2nd)
to
New York Rangers for:
Dan Girardi
let me know your thoughts.
1.) Etem or Smith-Palley AND Lovejoy could be a deal the Rangers would not turn down I guess
2.) Souray lolll rangers pass
3.) Would it change if it was:
Smith-Pelly
Sbisa
conditional 2nd

I wish that's all it would take to get Yandle and Eberle.
I would want Toronto to retain some salary and lower the level of the prospect the Ducks are giving up. Maybe Noesen and a 1st for Phaneuf with $2M retained.
Couture as your third line C? Doesn't seem like NYR would want that. Wouldn't they take another young player instead?
Anaheim just got Kesler and he's in the long term plans. There's no way the Ducks trade him for a player that is being shopped by Calgary.
If you switched Theodore to Noesen I like the deal.
