Detroit targets, Mike Green, Tyler Myers, Cody Franson.
BUF gets Smith, Jurco, 2nd
WSH gets Sheahan, Sproul, Nastasuik, 4th 2015
TML gets Frk, 4th 2015

Dbone06

1.) 02 Aug 2014 07:26:02
Consider the cap space next time and also Wings end up with too many Defence-men.

2.) I reply to the first comment, he's not saying trade for every one, those are 3 that Detroit could trade for.

3.) I hope these suggested trades are coming from a Wings fan.
Too much for Mike Green, IMO Murray would make this trade for Tyler Myers, not nearly enough for Cody Franson.
DET trades Riley Sheahan, Stephen Weiss, & Zach Nastasiuk to WAS for Mike Green. Green is somewhat extra in WAS so they may accept less and to them Weiss is not a salary dump but a potential #2 center
DET trades Brendan Smith, Tomas Jurco, Stephen Weiss & 2015 2nd to BUF for Tyler Myers. Here Weiss is a salary dump.
I have no thought on the Franson trade.

4.) Frking right IMO values close on toronto and Detroit deals. Frk

Wings are on the prowl for a right handed D, shown by their interest in Myers and Green. Letang is also is on the market apparently. But, the wings will not be willing to pay the big price for those names, so who's next Franson!
Detroit receives Franson, Biggs and a 2016 3rd pick.
Toronto receives Tatar.

Dbone06

1.) Overpayment by Leafs. 3rd + Franson should be enough, no need to include Biggs.

2.) @goforthewin
Biggs has nearly no value now

3.) 15 Jul 2014 19:53:17
i don't see how a 1st rounder that hasn't even had a chance to play at the NHL level yet has "nearly no value"

by that logic every prospect that doesn't make the NHL in 2 years is worthless

4.) My main point was that Detroit is the team in need, therefore they include more (or ask for less). Toronto has no reason to do this in the first place, so why would they give up more? As Shankar also pointed out, Biggs is still a prospect. He isn't valueless whatsoever.

5.) @shankar

U do realize that scouts are saying that he has become a fourthn line player and they areretty worthless as all he does is fight

Sharp and Hayes to Florida for Kulikov, Rau, and 2nd rd pick 2015. Then Chicago trades Kulikov to Carolina for Boychuk and a 2nd and 5th round pick in 2015

Dbone06

1.) Hayes is already in Florida for Versteeg.

2.) Different Hayes. Chicago has rights to a player Kevin Hayes. Also they have til August 15 to sign him or he becomes a free agent.

3.) Jimmy Hayes is in Florida, but the lesser known Keven has is in Chicago.

4.) 13 Jul 2014 17:04:01
Thank you for clearing that up, some people jus don't know who's who. Salary dump usually benefits the other team a lot so Chicago will not be winning any trades they make as they cannot take on roster players will cost a lot of cap. I think Kevin Hayes will probably go to Calgary though to play with Jonny Gaudreau BC alumni.

Possible Phaneuf destinations:
•Florida 1st overall
•Edmonton 3rd overall
•Philly 17th overall
•NYI 5th overall
•Toronto
Florida trade: Phaneuf, Bollands rights, 8th for the 1st.
Oiler trade: Phaneuf, Fransons rights, 8th for the 3rd.
Philly trade: Phaneuf for the 17th, and Read.
NYI trade: Phaneuf, Reimer, 8th for 5th and Boyles rights.

Dbone06

1.) I do not like the phill and NYI trade but the fla and oil I can live with

2.) Fla trade could definitely work.
They could then still possibly take
Haydn Fluery (if Carolina hasnt)
They will need good young defenceman
for when Jovanovski and Campbell
are done.

3.) 26 Jun 2014 16:19:08
that's all phily needs another overpaid player

4.) If you as GM sign a player to a term than just live with it instead of trading or buying out the player because it makes you look incompitant

Ottawa will trade Spezza to St. Louis.
It's going to look like this.
From Ottawa: Spezza and a 4th rd pick

From St. Louis: Berglund, Rattie/Jaskin, 21st pick.

Dbone06

1.) As a sens fan. I'm completely fine with that return. Good trade for both teams.

2.) how bout this

Karlson for beglund 5th rnd pick

EKane to MTL for Bourque, Tinordi and Eller

Dbone06

1.) Lol no dice. Besides of Winnipeg would consider it, Someone else could do better

2.) Wpg will not trade kane, he played very well considering he was unable to prepare last summer, I see kaner and chevy have a good laugh at the expense of all the couch gms that voice there great idea's with out merit, very entertaining lmao every day sharp to wpg is the only 1 I can see, chevy has ties to chi. media enhanced of course? kaner-sheffy-wheeler going to tear it up

17 Jul 2014 16:43:04
Price tag for EKane?
Seems like everybody has very different ideas, here's mine, what's yours?
EKane= Top 4D/Top 6F, a good prospect (not top prospect but a good one), and multiple picks a 2nd and 3rd round.

Dbone06

1.) 18 Jul 2014 06:52:18
Thats pretty much what I tried to offer.
Eric Brewer (#5 dmen), but therefore 2 good prospects (Panik, Connolly) and a 2nd

2.) ^ Those are all pieces that Winnipeg could add in FA or through deals for other assets (this is a debatable point bc I'm guessing you're placing a higher trade value on Connolly and Panik than I am).

My guess is they want to add a piece or pieces that can have an impact now and/or have a high upside.

3.) Yeah in 2-3 years maybe, kaner sheffy wheeler will tear up this season imagine the offers next year for all 3 of these guys

16 Jul 2014 02:42:31
To Pens: Tokarski, Tinordi, Hudon, 2nd rd 2016.
To Habs: Letang
Is this close to the asking price for Letang?

Leafs Potential Line up:
JVR---Bozak---Kessel
Lupul---Kadri---Santorelli
Komarov---Kontiola---Clarkson
Bodie---Holland---Frattin
Ashton
Phaneuf---Robidas
Reilly---Franson
Gards---Polak
Granberg
Bernie
Reimer

*Thats my prediction.
A trade I would like to see though, is Franson going to the Isles for Grabner.
Top 6 winger for top 4 D. Lineup change would be Santorelli drops to the 4th line taking Bodies spot while Grabner plays Along side of Kadri and Lupul, and Granberg sliding into Fransons spot.

Dbone06

1.) 4 lines that can play looks pretty good

2.) As a non-leafs fan:
1st line is pretty great. Bozak is not the ideal centre, but works very well with his buddy Kessel and JVR does everything he needs to do.

2nd line is decent. Kadri is a maybe right now. If he becomes the point-producer he did two years ago then the leafs are in for a productive season with he and Lupul (provided Lupul can stay healthy. And I say that as a factual hockey fan and not a leafs hater, but let's be honest, Lupul is not exactly the epitome of health). Santorelli is a risk because he was lackluster in Florida but blossomed in Van. Decent 2nd line on paper.

3rd line is a giant question mark. I honestly don't know how you can say this is a great 3rd line off the bat. i'm not saying they don't have the potential to be, but you have Komorov (overpaid for his role, and gone for a year), Kontiola (gone for several years from the NHL and never a contributor), and Clarkson (his first season was one of the worst dollar-values in the league). If they all play to their best it could be a great line but right now I'd call them iffy at best.

4th line is ok. Bodie seems like a good 4th liner so far, Holland could even be a good 3rd liner and is probably the best player of this line, and Frattin WAS great for the leafs but really went downhill after the trade. If he can get back to what he was, then he could be the cog that earns this line a "good" rating.

Once again, Xavier overestimates his own team. i'm not a leafs fan, but I am plenty fair. The first line is great but its a slow slope after that with lots of "ifs" involved. I won't even get into the defensive lines because, well, i'm already bored with this.

My assessment: Leafs end up either 6th or 10th in the East depending HIGHLY on their secondary production (if their lineup looks like that come october)

3.) I actually think the leafs will be lower than that and how exactly does me saying that we have 4 lines that can actually play mean I was overrating my team? I was meaning more in the sense that we will have we have potentially productive bottom 6 forwards that can actually play like Frattin and Bodie playing instead of goons like Orr and McLaren.

And yes this team has a lot of question marks beyond the 1st line and in net but you can't denie the potential

4.) I agree with chirp, I will add that a lot of the toronto media have very low expectations for this team and are already predicting they won't make the playoffs. so with the difference of expectations and pressure they might surprise some people and actually make the playoffs. the defence should be better at least.

12 Jun 2014 22:18:14
Who's going to be the steals in this draft! My picks to surprise are
1. Julius Honka, Fin defender plays for Swift Current Broncos of the WHL, plays an offensive minded game. Comparison: Dan Boyle
Projection: Top 4 D, 1st PP unit
2. Kevin Fiala, Swiss Winger, will have to develop his defensive game but the upside seems to be outstanding. After getting moved up to SHL with HV71 he still performed well against men. Comparison: Jeff Skinner
Projection: Top 6 winger
3. Roland McKeown, Canadian defender, plays for the Kingston Frontenacs, along with top prospect Sam Bennett. McKeown has to fill out a little more and learn to be more physical but can pass, shoot and skate well. He can play on the PP, could slide into late 1st round and even 2nd round. His hockey IQ should have him ranked higher.
Comparison: Brent Seabrook
Projection: Top 4 D, 2nd PP unit

I'm a Leafs fan and no way Ducks give up 2015 1st and Ritchie for Phaneuf! First trade isn't bad because that is about Fransons value a prospect and mid to late pick. Phaneuf for Ritchie or a 1st and Souray, or not and!

Cody Eakin isn't going anywhere, Seguin-Spezza-Eakin, Dallas is set down the middle, IMO is probably the best 1,2,3 C, with the exception of the Cup Champions, not a bad blueprint to design your team after though. Kopitar-Carter-Stoll-Richards no wonder they won the Cup.

Plekanec will never get you a 1st RDP and if you want Letang Habs have to add, Pacioretty, Galchenyuk, Gallagher or Subban.

I'm going to start by ruling out the guys I think aren't attainable.
Eakins DAL, Schenn PHI, Brassard NYR, Berglund STL, Anisimov CBJ, Richards LA, Shaw CHI, Plekanec MTL, Wilson NSH.
Shaw would be the best fit for Edmonton but he is loved by coach Quennville.
Next best fit by rank 1. Pavelski SJ 2. Sutter PIT 3. Lee NYI. Laich WSH, Smith OTT just don't fit the bill Oilers need a second line Center. Not saying Lee would be the solution but he could be a top 6 C possibly.

No- Myers price tag is a roster player, prospect and a 1st.
Maybe- Only because Boston needs a salary dump.
No- Gallagher, Pacioretty, or Galchenyuk have to be included in any trade for Kane
No- This trade has probably already been proposed, Nonis wants more for Phaneuf, same price tag as Myers most likely.
