heard a crazy idea that IF the murray samson oc experiment fails that scooby dubas would pivot to a trade for hellebuyck. i know this is a crazy crazy idea but just curious to know what the leafs would need to give up if it came down to this option? (btw i'm a jets fan)

1.) 10 Sep 2022 00:42:18
Bucky ain't going anywhere and the leafs definitely don't have anything that would interest Chevy.

2.) 10 Sep 2022 13:50:58
lukowich this isn't my idea or anything lol just sharing something i read haha.

3.) 10 Sep 2022 16:46:41
The only way Chevy trades Helly is if Mikhail Berdin is NHL ready at a high #1 goalie level.
He would want a player that the Leafs wouldn't want to trade or retain $ on like Marner.
The Jets definitely wouldn't want or need soft, unmotivated Nylander or any combination of bottom level players or prospects.
The Leafs may not need a goalie if their 2 goalie signings pan out.

4.) 10 Sep 2022 18:26:42
island jet that's why it says IF the murray samsonov experiment fails.

5.) 10 Sep 2022 19:04:09
My gut says Hellebucyk is gone when his contract is done.

6.) 11 Sep 2022 18:00:14
Yeah I guess Mathews wouldn’t be of interest to the jets. Marner probably wouldn’t crack the roster. That Nylander bum might crack the 4th line.

7.) 11 Sep 2022 21:59:37
it isn't that those three couldn't crack the lineup. it is that any one of them would upset the salary structure of the team. .

8.) 11 Sep 2022 23:13:40
Obviously the jets would taje Matthews and probably Marner but I'm pretty sure leaf fans are thinking Sandin, Muzzin, Robertson and a second.

9.) 20 Sep 2022 11:01:06
If the leafs off Mathews for Helly the jets would buyout Connor and Ehlers to make the cap work.

saw this on a rumour site and thought it was a decent proposal. islanders trade beauvellier to jets for dillon. islanders could use a veteran dman and jets need forwards seems like a win win.

1.) 20 Aug 2022 02:56:07
I don't know if the Jets would be interested. Beauvillier has a pretty bad contract for a bottom six winger. If anything the Jets would likely move Dillon to gain cap space so probably for a pick.

2.) 20 Aug 2022 13:27:41
This sounds good to me?

I could also see the NYR having interest in Dillon too. I was listening to the SiriusXM NHL Channel yesterday and they were talking about the NYR need to get a veteran D too with Trouba being their elder statesmen on a promising young blue line.

3.) 20 Aug 2022 14:42:30
i've heard the same thing chickenfoot.

4.) 20 Aug 2022 15:10:17
The Jets don't need another prospect blocking bottom six player that has too rich a contract. So this trade would just hurt the Jets in the long run. The Jets have to dump Schmidt, Dillon and Demelo without taking back expensive players but this is easier said than done as most teams are in the same situation with players eating up cap space.

5.) 20 Aug 2022 16:10:49
i very much doubt the jets will be able to trade any of there excess defence without taking back salary (either retention or salary coming back in a trade)

6.) 21 Aug 2022 15:23:23
It's fine if the jets get back salary as long as it's cones in the form of a useable forward.

09 Mar 2021 00:45:05
Blue jackets trade David savard
Jets trade Perrault and 2021 1st
Perrault is traded to matchup salaries.

1.) 09 Mar 2021 02:48:34
Savard would be a nice target for the Jets, but I highly doubt Chevy overpays by giving up a first for him.

2.) 09 Mar 2021 16:55:16
Savard is having a horrible year and as a 30 year old UFA he isn't worth a 1st.

3.) 09 Mar 2021 18:20:59
With the history of Winnipeg keeping 26% ($1.95m) of Laine’s salary, CBJ gets their 3rd round pick back and keeps $1mil of salary (that keep them cap compliant) . Effectively that would make it PLD for Laine and Savard for Roslovic.

I’ve heard word that Tampa may try moving Stamkos this off-season. IF Stammer can get his injury history behind him I think he’d be a perfect fit for the jets. I have 2 separate proposals that I think changes the jets roster for the better.

Trade 1 tbay trades Stamkos 8.5M x 4 yrs
Jets trade veselainan and 2020 and
2021 2nd

Trade 2 devils trade severson 4.1666M for I
Think 3 yrs and their
Own 2020 1st
Jets trade laine.

1.) 19 Sep 2020 07:35:36
Very confusing, also very unlikely. I’m sorry but I’m going to have to disagree.

2.) 19 Sep 2020 08:12:29
So apart from the fact that the chance TB trades their C is somewhere between 0 and 1 %, you think the best offer they'd get is Vesalainen and a couple 2nds? This has to be comedy, right? :D No one can be THAT stupid. Like even Pinball wouldn't think that's a good trade.

Counter offer:

Scheifele for Mathieu Joseph and 2020 2nd and 2021 2nd. Deal? :)

3.) 19 Sep 2020 09:14:57
It was supposed to say 2020 1st. And triplets the odds are a lot higher that Stamkos gets shipped. Tbay is about to win the Stanley cup with Stamkos not playing a single shift. They have just over $5M in cap space for next year with lots of guys to resign and Steve’s injury history has been well known. Tyler Johnson isn’t the trade chip they will be able to move and I believe they want to keep cirelli and sergachev.

4.) 19 Sep 2020 15:02:54
Its possible that they move him, in order to resign the 2 young stars, however i beleive the return will be a lot higher.

5.) 19 Sep 2020 15:29:40
Stamkos isn't going to waive for Winnipeg and the Jets wouldn't touch the Jersey trade.

6.) 19 Sep 2020 16:34:06
Well said Memarcusjoe. Also Laine ism't going to b traded anytime soon.

7.) 21 Sep 2020 17:42:31
Stamkos has a NO MOVEMENT CLAUSE, so they'll have to figure out next year's cap-hell some other way.

08 Sep 2020 05:01:52
Winnipeg-laine 2020 2nd rd.

1.) 08 Sep 2020 05:56:15
No go from Buffalo and I’m assuming Eichel would want to stay in the states

2.) 08 Sep 2020 13:37:36
I think Buffalo would want more.

3.) 08 Sep 2020 15:36:25
Buffalo would definitely want more than this offer. As good as Eichel is at $10 mil per I wonder if his constant complaining would be worth having.

4.) 08 Sep 2020 16:11:02
His constant complaining might go away with a team that shows dedication to winning, or it might shift to complaining that his ice cream is too cold.

5.) 09 Sep 2020 01:29:32
Regardless of the other factors, something about an Eichel-Schiefle 1-2 punch down the middle looks pretty scary.

Just thought I would throw that out there.

jitterbug the 1,2 and kylington is the price for pasta you need to add more for boston to take on lucic.

to be lucic and his contract kind of cancels out that likely low first round pick making this deal not as attractive. i understand that money needs to come out to fit pasternaks contract in. maybe there could be a way to add a third team in to take on lucic.
