CAR - Martin Necas, Pyotr Kochetkov and 2024 1st

“The Juuse Saros trade situation could be more serious than believed and he could actually be moved.”
(via Michael Gallagher)

“The Hurricanes, Kings and Devils have been linked to Juuse Saros ahead of the deadline.”
(via Michael Gallagher)

“Martin Necas may be a player that the Nashville Predators are interested in.”

I like the idea but I think it’s to much from Carolina think you could drop the 1st. Goalies aren’t worth much in trade.

21 Feb 2024 14:33:10
I could see something like this happening. Saros will draw a healthy return if Trotz pulls the trigger on a trade, and CAR is reportedly in the mix for him.

Ottawa Trades Josh Norris

Kings Trade Pierre-Luc Dubois

Both players have similar contracts and are locked in. I think both players are under performing and would do better in their new teams.

24 Jan 2024 23:35:21
- interesting idea, since they both lack trade protection this season, and they have a lot of similarities.

- Dubois is just such an enigma though. Norris also has a higher upside with his 35G season.

- I wouldn’t want Dubois in my room, period. There’s something wrong with him. Who knows what motivates a guy like that beyond a contract year?

25 Jan 2024 19:32:47
Gimme Norris any day over PLD. Not close in my opinion.

26 Jan 2024 13:00:00
Norris only has one decent season. The sens really haven't got much from Norris so far. I simply see Norris getting past 80 point season. so he's not a superstar. Dubois is currently in slump and might be the only time King consider trading him.

Couple things that would work for Dubois is that he grew up 2 hours away from Ottawa. Could have his friends and family attend games. Maybe that's the motivation he needs. He's had some good seasons and still has lots of potential. He's biggger than Norris, has more games played and more points.

I don't think either team is getting a bad deal. I just think Ottawa would be better with him. Neither team would regret the trade. Low risk trade. Worst case scenario both teams end up in similar situation, but at least they tried something.

28 Jan 2024 02:26:10
Idk it just seems like a sideways move at this point. Like Chickenfoot said there seems to be something going on with PLD. He's on his third team at only 25. Whether it be he thinks he deserves to be a 1st line player or something else idk.

23 Jan 2024 23:14:44
Sens Trade Josh Norris

Kings Trade Pierre-Luc Dubois

Both players have similar contracts and are locked in. I think both players are under performing and would do better in their new teams.

To Vancouver Canucks :
C - Alex Turcotte ( 894k @ 1 RFA )

To Los Angeles Kings :
RW - Vasily Podkolzin ( 925k @ 1 RFA )

Vasily Podkolzin, 22
(drafted #10 overall in 2019)

Alex Turcotte, 22
(drafted #5 overall in 2019)

Both players could probably benefit from a change of scenery.

19 Oct 2023 02:05:58
I'd do if vancouver or la, change of scenery can bring out the best sometimes.

22 Nov 2023 21:14:39
Van says no. Turcotte has not developed due to tons of injuries. Podkolzin has shown lots of promise but coaches want him to be better at the two way game. Hard pass on this.

Turcotte does not have as much value. Ask Luke Schenn how much it matters where you're drafted (among thousands of other high draft picks that didn't live up to their draft position) .

Bookmark this and look back on this I'll be calling out the people when Helly is traded.

Right now the market for Helly is tiny ( New Jersey and Buffalo )

I'm betting he heads to Jersey as there is mutual interest there and Buffalo is very frugal with their assets.

Goalies tend to have little value and the most a goalie has gotten were A. Schnider a young cost controlled goalie coming off a phenomenal playoff run with Vancouver B. Ryan Miller ( comparable to Helly imo )

People are going to really be surprised on the little value he brings in. I'd say 75% chance he's moved if not the Jets will ride out his contract because they are still a playoff team in there division and a playoff team trading there élite starting goalie mid season is a disservice to season ticket holders and the players on the team.

With that being said here is my vague estimate on what he returns.

New Jersey: Vanacek and a 1st 2024

Winnipeg: Hellybuck ( 50% retained )- yes If they move Helly that signals a rebuild so they will retain on him to maximize value very likely

Or

New Jersey: Vanacek, B level prospect and a 2nd 2024

Winnipeg: Hellybuck ( 50% retained )

I'm very interested to see his return. Vanacek is pretty solid and honestly in the long run maybe he's a better option then whatever Helly gets payed ( Loulongo, Price and Bob come to mind )

Dark horse team: LA kings don't think they do it with Copley and Talbot set but it's possible

11 Jul 2023 13:35:49
It's hard to say what the return will be if they trade Hellebuyck. There aren't any real comparables in recent history as elite goalies rarely get traded and Miller and Schneider just aren't the same level. However, your trade looks reasonable, you just may be a decent prospect light on it, especially with retention.

Because as you say, if goalies don't have much value, you're basically just oferring a late first for Hellebuyck, which likely doesn't do it. Chevy is a grinder and has shown he will get good returns on players when everyone else is saying he will get nothing.

11 Jul 2023 16:02:47
Although I agree that goalies don't get back a good return in trades.
Helly wanting $9+ mil a year doesn't make finding a trading partner easy for the Jets.
I believe that the Jets could do better than Vanacek and a 1st if he is traded before the season starts.
If he is moved at the trade deadline the Jets will most likely have to settle for an A prospect and a #1 draft pick but nothing better than a middle 6 forward or a 3rd pairing d-man.
Neither of those type of players would help the Jets.
Trades are hard to get a fair return in this new NHL.

11 Jul 2023 18:11:07
I dissagree on Miller. I think he’s better then Helly when he was moved. He did win a vezina on a horrid team and his numbers were among the top consistently again on a weak team also he had 2 Olympic medals at the time of the deal. He fell off a cliff after but at the time he was a top 5 goalie during the peak of goaltending in the 21st century.

11 Jul 2023 19:06:22
Well said Memarcus and Jet.

Chevy has shown himself to be a shrewd trader, so I expect him to do something worthwhile or nothing at all. He certainly exceeded expectations with the Dubois trade considering he was moving a distressed asset. Full respect?.

11 Jul 2023 23:03:56
I'm waiting for the deangelo to Carolina trade to go down before I bookmark anything by you vb, with all do respect.

12 Jul 2023 10:25:58
Sounds like nj is out. Im torn on hellybuck, hes top few goalies in the league now but a free agent at 31 and gonna want 8 mil and too many years. Only makes sense if he can win them 1 cup this year and hope he will sign for 5 years or less. I definitely can see gm's reluctance.

12 Jul 2023 13:10:05
SHOOTS: you bring an interesting perspective man. You're a well thought out cat?.

18 Jun 2023 23:06:49
To Minnesota Wild :
C - Mark Scheifele ( 6.12 @ 1 UFA )

To Winnipeg Jets :
21st Overall Selection in 2023 - MIN
RD - Calen Addison ( RFA )
LW - Sam Steel ( RFA )

To New York Rangers :
C/LW - Pierre-Luc Dubois ( RFA )
LD - Logan Stanley ( RFA )

To Winnipeg Jets :
C - Filip Chytil ( 4.43 @ 4 UFA )
LD - K’Andre Miller ( RFA )
23rd Overall Selection in 2023 - NYR

To Los Angeles Kings :
G - Connor Hellebuyck ( 6.16 @ 1 UFA )

To Winnipeg Jets :
C - Gabriel Vilardi ( RFA )
RW - Arthur Kaliyev ( 894k @ 1 RFA )

Kyle Connor - Gabriel Vilardi - Blake Wheeler
Nikolaj Ehlers - Cole Perfetti - Nino Niederreiter
Morgan Barron - Filip Chytil - Arthur Kaliyev
Sam Steel - Adam Lowry - Mason Appleton

Josh Morrissey - Neal Pionk
K’Andre Miller - Nate Schmidt
Brendan Dillon - Calen Addison

19 Jun 2023 02:09:59
If the Jets trade Scheifele in division they won't be targeting bottom of the lineup players. They'll be looking for prospects or ELC's with lots of team control.

Miller won't resign in Winnipeg, so the Jets have to pass on that one, but Chytil would be a nice piece.

LA apparently isn't in on Hellebuyck, they want PLD, but those are decent pieces to work around. Helle also wants a long term extension wherever he goes.

19 Jun 2023 02:18:45
Overpayment on all of the IMO.

19 Jun 2023 03:56:25
Scheifele one is decent but just doesn’t make sense for Minny IMO.

19 Jun 2023 23:32:24
Miller’s value has to be close to Dubois no? Maybe more?

20 Jun 2023 00:32:03
And why won't Miller sign in Winnipeg. Without any factual information that's just your opinion.

20 Jun 2023 01:49:24
The Minnesota offer is horrible and Jets laugh at it. Last summer Anaheim didn’t even bother to qualify Steel cause he’s a bum.

20 Jun 2023 02:17:20
Yeah you picked the least valuable piece in the trade to trash. Winnipeg wouldn’t make the trade for Steel.

21 Jun 2023 00:44:50
BALSAM: WPG has great hockey fans, but it’s no secret it’s a tough market for to sign or re-sign free agents. That’s not opinion either, it’s a fact. There’s a growing number of players, including Canadian players, who don’t want to play in ANY Canadian market. (Another fact)

I too share the opinion that Miller wouldn’t re-sign in WPG if he was traded there. He loves playing in NY, and not many markets can compete with NY for the excitement it offers young men making millions.

21 Jun 2023 01:21:00
Yet players continue to play for Winnipeg and sign in Canadian cities. You can’t shoot down a trade proposal because you think you know where a guy will or won’t play. Wasn’t the Pionk a similar situation a few years ago?

21 Jun 2023 08:40:21
First two Winnipeg wins by far, 3rd seems fair.

23 Jun 2023 21:33:58
Vilardi a 23 year year old who was over a 50 point pace and Kaliyev is a 21 year old with high potential. Would need to sign Helly to a steal of a contract to make that even close to fair.

14 Jun 2023 17:12:16
Winnipeg
Scheifele

Calgary
Elias Lindholm (resigns 2 years @ 5mil)

Winnipeg Gets: Girard, Lehkonen, 2023-1st, 2023-3rd

Avalanche Gets: Dubois

Kings
Moore
Danault
Durzi
Copley

Jets
Hellebuyck
Stanley
Heinola
2025-2nd and 3rd

Jets
Wheeler

Chicago
2023-3rd(dallas)
2025-4th(rangers)
Blackwell

Jets
Pionk
2024-3rd

Florida
Montour(resigns @ 3 years 4.75 million)

Potential free agent Targets: Toews, Dumba, JVR, E.Johnson, Jordan Staal, Hornqvist, Bertuzzi, Tatar, F.Anderson, Killorn, Orlov, Brossoit, Nedeljkovic, Raanta

Jets lines: Forwards
Connor-Lindholm-Ehlers
Niederreiter-Danault-Lehkonen
Barron-Lowry-Appleton
Blackwell-Stenlund-AJF
Defense
Morrissey-Montour
Girard-Durzi
Dillon-Schmidt

Goalies:
Raanta
Copley

I can see the jets signing someone like Toews, Dumba and Raanta.
Potential signings, Tatar, Bertuzzi, JVR, Orlov.

The trades builds a different forward core and they bring in centers to fill those to caps on the top 2 lines. They bring in lehkonen who can be productive in the regular season and be quite helpful in the playoffs.

They also improve on Defense with the pickups of montour, durzi and Girard. I should've added a schmidt trade, but i can see the jets trading schmidt, but who really knows with them.

To be honest I don't see them trading any players besides dubois.

14 Jun 2023 19:22:41
Apparently Lindholm wants to go to the free agency market and if that's the case it makes absolutely no sense for Winnipeg. I'd also value Lindholm higher than Scheifele, they put up similar numbers but Lindy is cheaper, Selke calibre and younger (not by much).

15 Jun 2023 00:16:13
I don't see Calgary doing the 1st one.

Not enough for Dubois. The last thing Winnipeg needs is another LHD, they have too many as it is, so Girard has no value to the Jets. Lehkonen is too old to consider in return for PLD. The Jets want youth with team control.

The Jets won't be looking to get older if trading Hellebuyck. The deal needs to be built around Byfield, Clarke or Spence, sunbathing like that. Young players with team control. Not vets on the back 9. Apparently though LA wants PLD, not Hellebuyck.

Wheeler isn't waiving for Chicago, nor would they want him.

Florida declines.

15 Jun 2023 03:21:58
Not enough for Dubois? At Lehkonens cap hit, his value is probably similar. No from Colorado.

15 Jun 2023 07:11:22
Lol at Lindholm signing at 5 mil. When Kevin Hayes is making 7 mil. He will get a Guadreau contract.

15 Jun 2023 16:23:38
Memarcus. You don't think wheeler may want to go play 1st line minutes with Bedard instead of way less with Winnipeg? Get his stock up so a contender will actually want him for a playoff run next year? his contract is very hard to trade to a contender as is so may be his best shot a picking a team next year trade deadline.

13 Jun 2023 07:28:49
Dubois (signs long term) and Stanley to the Los Angeles Kings for Durzi and Byfield

Hellebuyck (promise to sign long term) to Carolina for Jarvis, Kochetkov and Carolina’s 1st round pick (30th) this summer.

13 Jun 2023 13:17:41
Not too bad. There's no real reason for the Jets to add Stanley and there might still need to be a bit more coming from LA, as Byfield hasn't shown too much and Durzi is nothing special. I guess it depends how much the Jets scouts like Byfield.

I can't see Carolina moving Jarvis.

13 Jun 2023 15:29:04
Durzi quietly had a 38 point season which would have him second in points for dmen on the Jets. Pretty good size and skating. Blocked 147 shots, which is more than the Jets top right handed dman Pink who had 129. Durzi would definitely improve the Jets D. Draft picks in the 1et round this year could all be serviceable NHLers down the road. Like you said though Byfield is the unknown. Underwhelming so far even though he has everything you'd want in a solid power forward. Very interested to see what Dubois and Helly both fetch if they get dealt.

13 Jun 2023 15:31:06
Yeah no way from Carolina but 1st trade is good. Byfield will be a monster IMO think that’s a win/ win.

13 Jun 2023 16:51:45
Durzi was on a 45 point pace in his second season. Byfield maybe hits 50 next season? It would be a big jump but not super surprising. Dubois is a 65 point guy with a point per game potential. How much is he going to cost in a trade and in a contract? Because he might not be worth it.

13 Jun 2023 18:38:42
The Jets won't add Stanley to the LA trade and a Helly trade should bring a multitude of better offers then the Carolina one so the Jets say no.

13 Jun 2023 21:30:19
Islandjet, the Jets say no to the Helly trade? That is ridiculous. That would be a gigantic win for them.

24 Apr 2023 21:43:59
Habs Trade: J Harris
1st(Flo)

LA Kings: B Clarke
3rd

Habs get a top pairing RD and Kings get a young top 4LD and a 1st to replace the one they traded away.

25 Apr 2023 01:41:06
Heck no from LA

25 Apr 2023 15:12:50
Not even close! LA blocks Habs number lol.

12 Mar 2023 12:01:35
Tor: Austin Matthews

Ana: John Gibson, Adam Henrique, Mason Mctavish, 2023 1st (lottery protected, becomes 2024 1st unprotected if cond. met), 2023 2nd

If Matthews won't commit, Leafs decide they can't lose him for nothing as UFA, and deal him to western conference team before his nmc kicks in. This pkg provides quality futures while allowing Leafs to remain competitive.
Would Matthews sign long term in Southern Cal for Mackinnon money? Why not?

Leafs would want Zegras, but that may be non-starter for Ducks, especially if Matthews is unsigned, so then it becomes Ducks outbidding other teams with a pkg like above. But, since Matthews is a superstar, what do the Kings, Sharks, Preds, Blues, and Hawks offer?

A scenario like this could potentially play out this offseason, rather than AZ as they seem to have too many loose ends to take on a player like Matthews right now.

Other teams have quality pending ufa's too.
What other offseason trades might we see?

12 Mar 2023 15:33:04
Mathews won’t be traded. I’d bet my house on it.

13 Mar 2023 11:14:04
If he doesn't agree to extend, they would be stupid to keep him. They need assurances from him he is staying otherwise let the league know he is available.

On the trade, keep Gibson and Henrique. Would rather young players. Mactavish, Terry and one of there young d prospects would be a start.

13 Mar 2023 12:30:34
can't see Anaheim giving up this much.

13 Mar 2023 12:54:25
Then he is used as a rental for the leafs and leaves as a UFA. I’m willing to bet anything just name a price.

13 Mar 2023 14:07:11
Vb, if you let an asset like Matthews just walk that cripples organizations. Very poor asset management. Balsam, a player like Matthews would command alot. I was using that as an example. Some teams would pay a ton for a chance at him.

13 Mar 2023 16:24:42
@Coulson
Main thing I had in mind besides futures was Leafs addressing their net. Ie: they could face Vasilevskiy in the upcoming first round and they would be clearly overmatched in that phase of the game. Gibson is one of the few true #1 goalies rumoured to be available. Henrique is underrated. But yeah, younger is preferred in the nhl.

@balsam8
Matthews is a big #1C that can score 60 goals. ‘Nuff said.

@vb
Keep your shirt on.
Can’t speak for everyone, but all I’m doing is presenting interesting speculation, and certainly not guaranteeing anything.
What I can tell you is that if there’s anything Leafs and their fans might fear more than not winning the cup, it’s the years of desolation that have followed mismanagement, such as perennially trading away top picks/ prospects and letting stars age with ntc’s or walk for nothing. Yes, their arena will still be full, but, as history shows, the angst and irrelevance becomes the mark of the franchise.

13 Mar 2023 18:22:13
Not saying trading mathews opposed to letting him walk as a UFA wouldn’t be good asset management but I am saying there is absolutely zero chance he is traded so the discussion is moot. Dubas will be back next year with the same core 1st round exit or not. That I can promise.

I don’t think that’s interesting speculation at all interesting speculation would be the leafs signing a player like Nyquist in the offseason and trading for a player like Braydon Schenn because that’s realistic. Not trading Mathews, Nylander, etc.

13 Mar 2023 20:59:38
Vb, I never said they are trading Matthew's. I said if they dont get any assurances from Matthews, they are committing organizational suicide by not trading him. If he walks and they get nothing back consider them toast.

13 Mar 2023 21:01:20
And Vb, Gibson hasn't been considered a bonafide number one for a few years now. Is it a product of the team he plays for? Maybe, but maybe not.

13 Mar 2023 21:06:48
but what happens if he doesn't negotiate during the season. then bails. like Tavares did to the Isles? tough to gauge that situation.

13 Mar 2023 23:25:05
@balsam
Silence, or “Maybe” or “I don’t know” is still no. A signature on an extension means yes.

@vb
Ok, feel free to post such realistic trades.
But, having said that, don’t stop commenting on other’s posts. It isn’t real theatre without a peanut section.

14 Mar 2023 00:08:49
If he leaves the leafs will not have to relocate/ fold it is not organizational suicide. Like Tavares leaving the islanders they will just allocate money elsewhere.

14 Mar 2023 11:57:31
Get ready for an extended period of leaf drama about will he or won't he. (Ditto for Nylander. )

Matthews is getting excellent advice from his agent. Not taking max term and becoming a free agent before he hits his prime was a shrewd move. Matthews wisely bet on himself, and that bet is about to pay off handsomely.

Matthews won't forego the chance to hit the market as a UFA. He will knock it out of the park rather than accept a sign and trade, or simply re-sign with the leafs. He will hit the open market unencumbered. This will also impact any trade return the leafs get for trading him. Anyone who trades for him will realize they're getting a one-year guarantee of service and no more.

What top contender could fit Matthews' salary in their lineup next year? It will be interesting to see what happens there.

As for Matthews, he will make a precedent setting deal as a UFA, likey at a shorter term in my humble estimation, so that he can sign one more big deal before the end of his career. He won't be giving any discounts like Crosby did to help a team build a better supporting cast. I don't get the sense that winning is what drives him. I think he'll pile up the points and get paid handsomely for it for as long as he plays, and play a lot of golf each spring like he always has.

18 Feb 2023 13:34:01
Canucks trade Kyle Burroughs to Penguins for a 7th rounder.
Canucks trade Jack Rathbone along with rights to Aidan McDonough to Nashville for a 3rd rounder.
Canucks trade Riley Stillman to Kings for a 5th rounder.
Canucks trade Luke Schenn to Bruins for Brett Harrison.
Canucks trade Brock Boeser( 25% retained) to any team that is willing to give up a 2nd and a 3rd.
Pcanucks trade Conor Garland to Stars for a 2nd rounder.

I think everyone gets my point, the Canucks need to move out whoever they can.

14 Feb 2023 13:51:27
Montreal Canadiens:
- LD Joel Edmundson ($3.5m for 1 more year after this season)**

LA Kings:
- 2023 First round draft pick

** Montreal retains 30% of Edmundson's salary ($1.05m)

12 Feb 2023 01:02:25
to Los Angeles Kings :
D - Jakob Chychrun

to Arizona Coyotes :
1st Round Pick in 2023
C - Alex Turcotte
C - Francesco Pinelli
D - Sean Durzi

Quick prediction

12 Feb 2023 20:49:42
Too much.

13 Feb 2023 12:21:10
Rumor that clark his center piece of that trade

Clarke-turcotte-1st pick 2023
Petersen as cap dump.

02 Feb 2023 20:19:55
Kings trade: Iafallo, Grans, Kupari, 1st round pick 2023

Canucks trade: Demko, 3rd round pick 2024

Red wings trade: Rasmussen, 2nd round pick 2024

Canucks trade: Boeser, Rathbone

03 Feb 2023 12:35:55
I like the first one ?.

07 Feb 2023 18:52:38
I’d rather have Rasmussen at 1.8 million then Boeser at 6.5 million for next year.

04 Dec 2022 05:27:51
to Arizona Coyotes :
G - Cal Peterson ( 5.00 @ 3 UFA )
1ST - Round Pick in 2023 [ LAK ]
C - Alex Turcotte ( 894k @ 2 RFA )
C - Jack Hughes ( unsigned )

to Los Angeles Kings :
LD/RD - Jakob Chychrun ( 4.60 @ 3 UFA )

Kevin Fiala - Anze Kopitar - Viktor Arvidsson
Alex Iafallo - Philip Danault - Arthur Kaliyev
Trevor Moore - Gabriel Vilardi - Adrian Kempe
Carl Grundstrom - Blake Lizotte - Brendan Lemieux

Jakob Chychrun - Drew Doughty
Sean Durzi - Matt Roy
Alex Edler - Sean Walker

05 Dec 2022 12:46:19
Peterson has been trending down for awhile now, and is expected to be put through waivers so that he can get his game back at the NHL level if he isn't claimed, which isn't expected to happen.

If you include him in a trade, you'll need to included a sweetener to dump his contract. He is not an asset, he is a liability.

07 Dec 2022 00:57:25
That might be able to dump Petersens contract. Definitely not getting Chychrun.

01 Dec 2022 13:58:41
Los Angeles sends Sean Durzi and the lower of the 2 3rd round picks(23) to Columbus for Vladislav Gavrikov(UFA)

Los Angeles gets a much needed defender who plays decently defensively and has some much needed size.
Columbus receives a RHD puck moving defender and a 3rd to help continue stockpiling the prospect pool.

01 Dec 2022 18:26:56
I’ve watched Durzi since he played Junior. He’s the future after Doughty and they shouldn’t trade.

01 Dec 2022 21:30:04
I think Brandt Clarke will be the guy who eventually replaces Doughty.

10 Nov 2022 16:06:49
Canucks need to start over, Toronto needs a goalie.

Canucks send Demko to Toronto for Kellgren and a 2nd

Canucks send Miller, 25%retained, to Columbus for Voracek, Ceulemans and a 2nd.

Canucks trade Horvat to Los Angeles for Anderson-Dolan and a 1st(2023) and 2nd(2024)

Canucks trade Quinn Hughes to New Jersey for a 1st and 2nd.

10 Nov 2022 18:22:05
Although Demko has struggled this season, I can't see the Canucks giving up on him yet. He's capable of being a top 10 maybe even 5 goalie in the league.

10 Nov 2022 21:51:14
@sosahabs

Not sure if you misunderstood the 1st sentence or not, but Demko has good value and so does Horvat. They can run with Mattin and Delia, it doesn't really matter, this team needs to start from scratch, instead of the yearly piling on more of the same.

11 Nov 2022 01:56:14
I see your point, however I'm not 100% sold it needs a complete tear down. There are a few peices forsure that could fetch big returns .
I think they should shop Hughes and Horvat and see what they can get for assets for today, not tomorrow.
I know alot of Canucks fans want to see them tank for hometown boy Bedard, I can understand that, however there is no guarantee he's who they would get.
I truly believe that a few pieces out, a few in could really improve this team. #1, get that Defense better. I sound like a broken record., but Hughes is an awful Damn. but great puck mover. Move him while he has high value for someone that will help keep pucks out of the net.

Sosahabs, I agree, Hughes is terrible and if they move him that would make me a happy Canucks fan.

Sharks Trade
Meier
Nieto

Leafs Trade
Kerfoot
Sandin
Simmonds
1st Round Pick 2024

Trade Breakdown.
Meier - Kerfoot, Sandin, 1st
Nieto - Simmonds

I would compare Meier to Fiala in a Trade Proposal, and San Jose would be getting a better package than Minnesota got when they traded Fiala to The Kings.

If you follow The NHL than you would understand why each Team would pull a Trade like this, so no need to explain myself.

Thoughts ?

I would think San Jose says no . the 2 guys you listed are probably building blocks for them. plus, Simmonds no real value.
