Toronto trades Robertson, Brodie, Jones and 2024 3rd pk

to Nashville for Carrier and Saros

Then

Then Toronto trades Liljegren, Samsonov and McMann

to Philly for Tanev

23 Feb 2024 19:35:24
Torontos offer is underpaying for Saros

Torontos offer is overpaying for Tanev.

23 Feb 2024 19:38:58
There's a Tanev on philly?

23 Feb 2024 23:12:54
???

At least the other Homers know Tanev plays in CGY.

24 Feb 2024 01:09:15
Everybody happy to give the leafs what they need for there crap lol. Get real!

Philadelphia Trades
Laughton*
Atkinson*

Toronto Trades
Kampf
Reaves
NRobertson
Minton (WHL)
1st Round Pick 2024

*Flyers retain 50% of both Laughton's 2 years after this season and Atkinson's 1 year after this season.

Flyers rebuilding and have some good young assets on the team and coming in the next few seasons, Laughton and Atkinson are players I believe will be moved be The Leafs or another team, obviously Kampf and Reaves are in this proposal for cap reasons as well as the 50% retention but getting NRobertson, Minton and a 1st Round Pick is a future building block for what they are doing.

Getting that stud defender is the hardest to get, maybe Toronto can still improve on defense but the lack of a third line with a bit of productivity is just as important, and adding 2 quality players upfront like Laughton and Atkinson helps huge with Domi in between those players.

Thoughts ?

13 Feb 2024 23:17:33
- any trade Treliving makes will be for help on D. (In a perfect world, he’d add in net, but with limited cap space he’ll have to be selective and prioritize D. )

- where is the compensation for Philly retaining this season plus next on Atkinson, plus 2 more on Laughton? (Cap space will be an expen$ive commodity at the deadline. )

- where is the compensation for taking 3 years of Reaves, who is irrelevant in the NHL? Or 4 seasons of Kampf @ 2.4M/ season, who at 29 is the wrong age for a rebuilding team to target for that long?

- the 1st & Minton, to a lesser extent, is of value to a rebuilding team. But the salary you’re dumping on Philly + the salary you expect them to retain is way out of whack with what you’re proposing as a “return” to Philly.

- Last but not least…. NO D for the leafs in your proposal? SERIOUSLY? (Have you seen the starting D in tonight’s lineup without Rielly? )

I’ll have what you’re having ?.

14 Feb 2024 14:54:58
Chickenfoot.
When you look at the retention and what Philly would have to put out cap and money wise the difference is in actual $108.666 which is basically a wash in my proposal.
So Cap is basically the same and they add 3 in NRobertson, Minton and a 1st Rounder, yes Kampf and Reaves aren't what most teams would want but because of cap they have to be included, Philadelphia are trading a soon to be a 30 and 35 year old players and add to their prospect pool why wouldn't they do it is the question I am asking you.
If anything as past has shown everyone at or near the deadline players are traded for much less than anyone would imagine.

14 Feb 2024 19:14:41
- I'm not sure understand the concept of salary retention beyond what the leafs' needs are, but the numbers are significant for Philly in your trade proposal.

- if you're expecting the other team to retain that much salary and term, PLUS absorb bad contracts coming in, you need to include trade capital to make the other team even interested in wanting to consider it. Otherwise it's pure fantasy, and just doesn't make any "real world sense".

Consider the salaries & term you're proposing Philly retain AND absorb:

Player: 2023-24 2024-25 2025-26 2026-27

Laughton 1.5M 1.5M 1.5M
Atkinson 2.94M 2.94M

Kampf 2.4M 2.4M 2.4M 2.4M
Reaves 1.35M 1.35M 1.35M
Robertson .796M
Minten .846M .846M .846M

The retention & salaries you're dumping on Philly is 4-year commitment that looks like this:

Year 1: 9.832M
Year 2: 9.036M
Year 3: 6.096M
Year 4: 2.4M

TOTAL: 27.364M

So you're asking Philly to take on 27.364M over 4 years, but you're not including any compensation for taking on all that salary?

The real in your trade offer is the 1st & Minten. A late 1st and Minten is not nearly enough for the 27M+ that you're asking Philly to absorb.

I'm not sure if you understand all this, but I've taken my best shot. Surely you can see that this is a lopsided deal that no team would ever consider?

Philadelphia Trades
Laughton
Atkinson*
SWalker*

Toronto Trades
Samsonov
Kampf
NRobertson
Minton (AHL)
1st Round Pick 2024

*Flyers retain 50% of both Atkinson's 2 remaining years, and SWalker's expiring contract.

This is a proposal that can only happen once Woll is ready to play.

Flyers at a point of a bit of rebuilding and retooling and this proposal does this.

Leafs fix upfront and defense with this proposal which they will be looking at.

Thoughts ?

08 Feb 2024 21:13:57
- PHI hangs up.

- It is predictable in that it heavily favours the leafs, and the exchange of assets is inequitable.

- Another predictable element of this trade is that there is no compensation for TWO salary retention spots for TWO spots, one of which is for this season and next, and the other for TWO seasons after this.

- Further to not compensating PHI for salary retention, there's no compensation for taking on Samsonov.

- I suppose it's also predictable that it's heavy on forwards, with only one D.

- Lastly, it is predictable that one of two responses will come: "you hate the leafs", or something snarky that implies compensation for Samsonov and the two cap hits beyond this season IS somehow included, but I'm just unable or unwilling to see it.

Chickenfoot
You do understand Philly has no Goaltender to speak of with Hart's career probably over.
NRobertson has proven he actually is an NHL Player with his play this season.
Samsonov besides a few months ago is showing it was just a bad streak as he has been steady and does have 2 shutouts this season, how is that a terrible Goaltender.
Minton is a legit prospect and to say a 1st Rounder means nothing again makes no sense.
As for retention for SWalker it's an expiring contract and Atkinson has rest of this season and next, that's not long term.
Please at least have a real argument when replying to my post, and no not going to say it's trashing Toronto as this is about what all players involved bring in a proposal like this.
Cheers.

09 Feb 2024 00:12:09
Pinball, your view of the game is uniquely your own. I suspect you are alone in thinking this makes any hockey sense to anyone else.

This one is not close.

09 Feb 2024 14:01:45
I don’t know if they want to trade Laughton but this is a haul for two mid roster players and a 34 year old. Robertson, 1st, Minton all young pieces Philly would want. Also Samsonov is a UFA so he has no value to Philly.

10 Feb 2024 14:00:39
Value wise, I'd say it's not far but I think Toronto should use their three main assets (1st, Robertson, Minton) to acquire more impactful players than Laughton, Atkinson and Walker.

I'd start trade talks with Calgary, for example, to get a player like Hanifin.

19 Jan 2024 16:23:09
Chris Tanev 50% retained Dan Vladar To Toronto maple leafs for a 2 round pick nicholas Robertson and Frazier Minton

Elias Lindhome 50 percent retained to Washington captials for 1 round pick 2024 and 2025 ALIAKSEI PROTAS

Noah hannfin 50% retained and Dillon Dube Ruzicka and 2025 capitals 1 round to Flyers for YEGOR ZAMULA and TRAVIS KONECNY

Calgary lineup
Jonathan hubs yegor sharigovich KONECNY
Zary. Kadri Robertson or pospisl
Coleman backend magi
Yegor zamula Robertson or pospisl Klapka

Weager kylington
Anderson Gilbert
Deismone and yan kuznetove

I think this works out for both team pretty well Calgary gets pick back and players miss the playoffs this year get a high draft pick and retool next year defence core lacks a little bit
Toronto gets a goalie and a defencman
Which they needed capitals get a number one center to help ovi flyers get hannfin great defence dube had a bad year needs a new area and ruzicka
your guys thoughts ?

19 Jan 2024 23:03:02
Mabey not protas

19 Jan 2024 23:41:21
Lindholm can get more, overpayment for Konecny but also makes no sense for the Flyers and idk how to feel about the Leafs trade.

09 Jan 2024 16:56:23
Sens are rumoured to be making a huge trade- I'm for it as I'd rather tank for Celebrini than mediocrity.

Chabot 10 team no-trade kicks in June and his cap could be used to restructure with Sandersons kicking in next year.

Flyers are performing well and may try to make a run. I think Chabot would play well under Torts structure. Atkinson is playing poorly this year but could benefit from new scenery.

PHI: York, Atkinson, 2024 1st
OTT: Chabot, Kubalik

10 Jan 2024 10:03:06
Maybe make the 1st top 5 protected? I actually really like it.

10 Jan 2024 14:27:22
vbbvvbb you need to go away dude. This trade is bad enough for Ottawa without any pick protection, why would they make it worst, especially in a weak ass draft year? Ottawa has no need for Atkinson and Chabot worth a lot more than this garbage, let alone adding Kubalik too.

10 Jan 2024 15:06:12
I think where Philly is at, York being 4 years younger and 8M cheaper, they’d rather not add the first to get Chabot. How much different will those two values be in 2 years?

11 Jan 2024 18:08:38
Chabot is a 50 point D that can barely get 40 because he can’t stay healthy. York could likely get 40 points next season.

11 Jan 2024 19:32:26
Yorks playing big minutes for
Philly. When it’s all said and done there is a legit chance that york becomes the better dman then Chabot.

06 Dec 2023 04:52:49
Edmonton: Jack Campbell, Dylan Holloway, Philip Broberg, 1st 2024 and 2nd 2026

Philly: Future Considerations

Edmonton gains 5 million of cap space and Holloway and Broberg haven't looked great

Philly takes on dead cap that'll last for 7 years post buyout but gets 2 solid prospects and 2 high picks for there rebuild. Holloway is built for flyers hockey.

06 Dec 2023 14:40:24
Edmonton's 1st isn't in play without an asset coming back.

06 Dec 2023 18:27:38
Wow VB………that just might be the worst trade posted on here. ??.

06 Dec 2023 18:30:14
3.85M in the minors for Campbell. I’d rather keep him down there for another season then think about a buyout over doing this.

06 Dec 2023 18:30:37
Or pay extra to add Hart.

08 Dec 2023 00:26:50
In order to get out of the Campbell contract the oilers will need to pay a kings ransom.

09 Dec 2023 00:01:41
Vb is a bit dense and doesn’t realize worse contracts exist and wouldn’t cost this much to move. Buyouts are an option….

09 Dec 2023 05:48:34
No team wants 7 years of dead cap via buyout. There is no worse contract. Campbell is literally 5 million of dead cap. He is not a nhl caliber player.

09 Dec 2023 16:58:55
I agree probably no team would buy him out this offseason. Might have to have him buried in the AHL for another. 3.85M dead cap for another year then a 4 year buyout cost of 1.5M. Straight up it would take a lot to dump but I think taking back a contract would help the cost. Binnington/ Merzlikins maybe.

10 Dec 2023 03:29:14
Binnington would be the most likely route imo.

Campbell, Broberg and a unprotected 1st 2024 for Binnington.

11 Dec 2023 08:00:57
Gibson in Anaheim would be sweet too.

29 Oct 2023 14:12:15
To Philadelphia Flyers :
1st Round Pick in 2024 or 2025 - CGY/FLA
LW - William Stromgren ( 900k @ 3 RFA ELC )
LD/RD - Nikita Zadorov ( 3.75 @ 1 UFA )
3rd Round Pick in 2025 - CGY

To Calgary Flames :
RW - Travis Konecny ( 5.50 @ 2 UFA )

Konecny lives in Calgary with his wife, she is from there and he was talking about how they made the move there. He is exactly what they need, he’s available and he’s familiar with the area. Judging by Philly’s prospect pool they could use some more left-wingers. Zadorov could be resigned or traded at the deadline. So Philly is grabbing a 1st, 3rd, prospect from the Flames and potentially a 1st or 2nd for Zadorov? Flames would eventually have to trade Vladar to make the cap after acquiring Konecny.
Stromgren, 20 (drafted 45th in 2021)

Huberdeau - Lindholm - Konecny
Mangiapane - Kadri - Coronato
Ruzicka - Backlund - Sharangovich
Dube - Coleman - Duehr

Hanifin - Andersson
Weegar - Tanev
Solovyov - Oesterle

30 Oct 2023 05:42:33
Think that's a little to much. He's to close to FA, . I think Calgary should hang onto firsts as well, they aren't a team that is a cup contender. They maybe playoff contenders, but do we really see them as cup contenders with the addition of Konecny.

30 Oct 2023 11:19:39
I don't think CGY can trade any of their first rounders for the next 3 years due to the conditions attached to the Monahan trade and the CGY-FLA trade.

30 Oct 2023 13:35:38
@sosahabs24 @chickenfoot

Yeah I just think if ownership was going to approve a rebuild, it wouldn’t be a long or thorough one. It would be a small rebuild/retool and Konecny being 26 would fit with the age. The Flames ownership won’t even let management use the word rebuild lmao, they are what’s holding this franchise back from succeeding.

30 Oct 2023 16:17:49
CASUAL: agreed regarding CGY ownership. There’s too many owners that all want to be heard, so reaching any decision is slow and occasionally acrimonious. This leaves the team underserved without question.

30 Oct 2023 17:13:44
I think that all flames fans should want to blow it up and build for when new arena is built. Just saying.

30 Oct 2023 20:16:57
Zandorov would cost then 3rd and no name contract ( if you want to call him a prospect then okay but he has zero value) .

1st and Coronato for Konechny or Zadarov, Vladar, Coronato, 1st and 2nd for Konecny is more fair.

Konechny is looking like a star this season.

31 Oct 2023 18:00:40
Geez I guess the leafs should trade Matthews straight up fo Konechny then. ?.

01 Oct 2023 00:18:01
3way Trade

Anaheim or Philly maybe?

Ottawa clears 3m for pinto
Cost them to swap a late first for a early 3rd

Mtl-take Joseph contract, 1st mid pick in 2025 3 Rd pick 2024 and Habs still have cgy one, and give two b minus prospect because have too much contract

Chicago?Anaheim? Philly maybe?

01 Oct 2023 17:40:18
seems to be alot for Joseph. one veteran, two younger and a first round?

03 Oct 2023 17:22:16
If I'm reading this correctly it seems like MTL is trading some major assets for Joseph, so it's a quick no from MTL.

Joseph is as unspectacular as it gets, so beyond OTT's need to clear him from the books, I'm not sure why MTL would give up so many assets to help OTT get cap relief?

03 Oct 2023 22:31:34
Ottawa isn't exchanging a 1st and Joseph for a 3rd and nothing. might as well make the trade pinto and joseph for the 3rd.

26 Sep 2023 19:56:57
Ott: Joseph, 1st rd pick 24

Detroit: Future Consideration

Every one knows Ottawa is in a cap crunch and needs to move salary to sign Pinto and its not going to be cheap. Ottawa is most likely going to have to pay more because of this. Philly wants Boucher to take Joseph contract and I don't think Ottawa wants to move any of their top prospects as they believe they are closer to being a playoff team so moving one of their two 1st this year makes sense. Detroit has a open roaster spot still, cap space and they get a second first back that they traded earlier to Ottawa in the Debrincat deal. Maybe Dorian can pull off a better deal or payless but right it seems more then not Ottawa will be paying more then they want .... or trade Pinto.

27 Sep 2023 19:15:25
I don't see any open roster spots in Detroit. They already have 23 players with NHL experience under contract, and several good rookies that look NHL ready. What open spot do you see? I see 13 forwards, 7 defensemen, and 3 goalies on the team, and 2 more defensemen and another forward ready to step in.

03 Oct 2023 22:38:16
So you figure boucher and Joseph has more value than a 1st and Joseph?

05 Oct 2023 21:44:40
I’d take a 1st over Boucher. He was a awful pick. IF he pans out he will be Garnet Hathaway type player.

25 Aug 2023 02:16:58
3 Way Trade (CGY, NSH, PHI)

To Calgary Flames :
RW - Travis Konecny ( 5.50 @ 2 UFA )

To Nashville Predators :

To Philadelphia Flyers :
1st Round Pick in 2024 - NSH
RD - Dante Fabbro ( 2.50 @ 1 RFA )
C - Fedor Svechkov ( 925k @ 2 RFA )

Calgary wants a RW, Nashville wants Hanifin & Philly is rebuilding. Pretty straight forward.

25 Aug 2023 17:02:13
If kylington comes back calgary would be over cap by more than 3 million. So they'd probably have to trade zadorov im guessing. Seems fair to me value for all 3.

25 Aug 2023 17:48:31
I would think Philly should get more. Fabbro isn't what he was projected to be. Konecny is good with a good cap hit.

26 Aug 2023 06:37:59
@Shootsmcgee I think Vladar gets traded and Gilbert gets sent down.

28 Aug 2023 01:42:58
This looks fair to me?.

28 Aug 2023 10:06:49
Casual, id like vladar traded but calgary is stuck with him. No team wants him at all. Calgary priced him out. Maybe he gets traded in season but nobody taking him at full price. Sutter era horrible signing.

29 Aug 2023 19:11:18
@Shootmcgee I think Calgary's asking too much but the asking price will eventually come down, by the sounds of it they wanted a late first for him. Teams are/were interested but that ask is totally ridiculous, I think a late 2nd is more than fair.

30 Aug 2023 05:04:08
Yes Casual, if a team wants a somewhat reliable backup, hes fine. I just think at his price maybe a 5th or 6th, 4th if they get any takers. My opinion hes like brodie, good player that makes too much. There is 4-5 people on here that speak sense and NotAcasual is like minded to me. We agree on most.

20 Jul 2023 14:50:34
Philadelphia Trades
Konecny
Hart

Toronto Trades
WNylander
Samsonov

Thoughts ?

20 Jul 2023 17:18:26
Why would PHI do this?

- Hart is under contract at a reasonable 3.98M, and is under team control the following year as an RFA.

- Konecny is under contract for 2 more years at 5.5M.

Whereas:

- Samsonov is currently in arbitration, and may be awarded 4.9M on a one-year deal, with no team control after that year.

- Nylander makes almost 7M for 1 more year, then he's a UFA, who is DEFINITELY going to market to find someone to pay him 10M/ season.

I'm not sure why you think PHI would even consider paying more money for less controllable years Pinball. To help the leafs out of a bad situation? Get real man, and stop wasting everyone's time with your Homer Trade garbage.

20 Jul 2023 17:43:28
Yet again, another day another Pinball homer trade.

There are 32 NHL teams only 1 of them has not secured their goalie tandem for the upcoming season. What makes you think Philadelphia is going to trade their goalie of the future + their best trade chip in exchange for 1 year of Nylander and an RFA who would ask for more money than what they're already paying Hart?

08 Jul 2023 21:25:57
Philly: 3rd round pick 2024

Carolina: DeAngelo

Probably happens tomorrow

09 Jul 2023 21:36:58
Sorry it’s a prospect and trade will happen Monday and DeAngelo will be 50% retained.

10 Jul 2023 17:48:48
So originally the trade was vetoed due to the CBA not allowing the trade to be made between a player and a team that has been traded by said team in under 1 year due to cap circumvention now apparently they have to wait until after the prospect development camp ( Carolina to trade their prospect )

11 Jul 2023 23:26:44
This is very old news my friend.

06 Jul 2023 00:37:37
Carolina Trades
Pesce
Jarvis

Toronto Trades
WNylander
1st Round Pick 2024

Carolina also looking finalize a deal with Philadelphia to acquire DeAngelo who will take Pesce's spot on Defense, then you add WNylander over Jarvis I believe Carolina should take this opportunity to acquire a Top Winger in WNylander.

Leafs improve on Defense and add a promising young Winger in Jarvis, but the biggest part is getting some Cap Space relief.

Thoughts ?

06 Jul 2023 10:29:45
- CAR already had DeAngelo, and chose not be to retain him.

- CAR is loading up, not looking to trade players for 1st round picks.

? Homer Deals
? ♻️
?
? Homer Trades.

06 Jul 2023 12:32:33
Chickenfoot
Who is the best player in this proposal?
How is not adding WNylander not loading up for Carolina?
Change The 1st Round Pick for Liljegren so it's player for player, position for position, as Carolina is trading 19 goals for 46 goals in this proposal, and that's a homer trade for Toronto?
I guess Matthews and Rielly for Jarvis and Pesce is more fair in your mind.

06 Jul 2023 13:22:24
- Whine all you want, but CAR is better off with what they have.

- Liljegren is NOT helping to improve the deal.

- Your second sentence is a double-negative and makes zero sense. (Breathe Pinball, breathe. )

- the rest of your post is hyperventilating nonsense trying to make sense of yet another Pinball trade that serves the leafs and guts another team.

- stop posting nonsense and then crying about the feedback you receive. With all the negative feedback you've received you'd think it would make you try to post more realistic proposals instead of the normal cycle of posting garbage and crying about the comments you receive. Think it through.

06 Jul 2023 13:51:27
Chickenfoot
WNylander 40 Goals
Jarvis 14 Goals

Pesce 5 Goals
Liljegren 6 Goals

Ya Carolina doesn't win this proposal at all.

You don't make any sense.

06 Jul 2023 15:36:58
Just doesn't make sense for Carolina after signing Tarasenko. Nylander definitely holds more value than Jarvis, but Jarvis is maybe going to cost them $4-5mill on his next contract whereas Nylander is asking $10mill. Does Nylander improve them? Sure. But I feel like that they are likely quite happy with their roster right now and will wait to see how Svechnikov recovers from surgery before they look at adding another offensive weapon.

06 Jul 2023 16:37:28
Now we are comparing defenseman goals.

07 Jul 2023 02:47:19
PINBALL: it’s not hard to tell you value offense over defence. Your trades are almost exclusively for offensive forwards, even at the trade deadline, when you already had a high-scoring team with some obvious depth issues.

Even now your trades are for offensive forwards when your team hasn’t signed a starting goalie. (They come in handy…even if you have a 40-goal scoter. )

Discussing hockey with you is like discussing calculus with a toddler: it won’t understand, and it gets frustrated and emotional because you’re speaking to it like an adult.

I don’t expect you to “get the concept that defence wins championships”, but others obviously do. CAR declines this trade and laughs about it at the next GM meetings in Palm Springs…?.

07 Jul 2023 15:50:49
Maybe look up the rumours before trying to demean someone’s intelligence Chickenfoot. A deal is very likely to be made that brings DeAngelo back to Carolina.

07 Jul 2023 20:22:37
VB: I think it’s hilarious that I appear to live rent free in your head, but it’s an honour I could do without. (I would love to be a fly on the wall if you and Pinball were talking hockey…it would be fascinating to see who could infuriate the other first. )

You like Deangelo, which is no shocker. He’s a head-case that I wouldn’t want anywhere near my team. If he were to go to CAR that wouldn’t change my opinion of him, you, or my thoughts on how foolish this series of proposed transactions is.

CAR seems to be getting ready to shake things up, but if I were them, I’d want some size and toughness, along with a scorer who could keep up with their pace. They got owned physically in the playoffs, and they need to address that. Whether owner Dunedin does that or something foolish is anyone’s guess.

07 Jul 2023 21:50:19
Man what are you talking about? I didn’t say I think he should go to Carolina I said it’s very likely he gets traded there. I could care less about what Carolina or DeAngelo does.

Also it’s funny how you say I live rent free in your head when you’re the one trying to make personal slashes at myself and pinball.

Maybe reread what I said because every time you reply it has absolutely nothing to do with what I said.

08 Jul 2023 01:54:43
VB: I said, “you like Deangelo, which is no shocker”, etc.

You say you could care less about DeAngelo? Seriously?

On June 22nd you posted this about DeAngelo:

“I’d love DeAngelo tho he’s exactly what the leafs need. I’m sure the soft liberal Toronto fans would have a fit when someone with a little bit of personality joins the team. Unlike most of wimps out there today I think he’s strong enough to survive the media backlash. ”

I bet you and DeAngelo had a great time at the trucker convoy protesting vaxs in the name of freedom eh?

08 Jul 2023 12:10:50
About 3 weeks ago a trade was made to bring de'angelo back to Carolina from philly for 3 draft picks, it got upheld by the league because it was against a CBA clause of some kind.

08 Jul 2023 21:30:53
Remembering things I said weeks ago then saying you live rent free in my head.

During the trucker convoy which honestly I do support I was out in Fort McCmurray making bank fresh out of high school since you car so much about my life. Never made it to a protest.

09 Jul 2023 12:29:37
It doesn’t take a genius to figure out who and what you are. You were easy to spot.

The trucker convoy was all about angry idiots doing stupid things, showcasing their low intelligence. I’m not the least bit surprised you supported that.

D - Owen Pickering ( 918k @ 3 RFA )
C/LW - Samuel Poulin ( 863k @ 1 RFA )

To Pittsburgh Penguins :
D - Noah Hanifin ( 4.95 @ 1 UFA )

To Calgary Flames :
1st Round Pick in 2024 - COL

To Colorado Avalanche :
C - Mikael Backlund ( 5.35 @ 1 UFA )
4th Round Pick in 2025 - CGY

To Calgary Flames :
RW - Travis Konecny ( 5.50 @ 2 UFA )
D - Travis Sanheim ( 6.25 @ 8 UFA )

To Philadelphia Flyers :
1st Round Pick in 2024 - CGY
1st Round Pick in 2024 - PIT
1st Round Pick in 2024 - COL
G - Daniel Vladar ( 2.20 @ 2 UFA )

The rumoured package for Hanifin at the draft was Pickering, 1st, Poulin for Hanifin and Vladar but the Flames turned it down. Penguins are still actively interested so I think this is more than fair, also Pelletier and Poulin are best friends. Flames were the front runners for Sanheim at the draft and are still interested according to multiple Philadelphia Twitter insiders. The price was reportedly a late first or 2nd +. Konecny and Sanheim live in Calgary, aswell as Sanheim’s parents, Flames having problems keeping players, they need a Top 6 RW and a Hanifin replacement. Colorado is extremely interested in Mikael Backlund but no word on the Flames asking price.

J Huberdeau - E Lindholm - T Konecny
A Mangiapane - N Kadri - M Coronato
J Pelletier - S Poulin - Y Sharangovich
D Dube - B Coleman - W Duehr

M Weegar - R Andersson
T Sanheim - C Tanev
O Kylington - N Zadorov

J Markstrom
D Wolf

Good one Casual, and fair to all.

05 Jul 2023 18:36:21
I'm all for bringing Konecny into the fold. That would be a nice addition to the top 6. Poulin? Maybe. Just because he's Pelletier's bud, it doesn't mean they have to line up together. You can't bury Dube as the 4th line LW either. I'd see him as more of a 3rd line C to replace Backlund. He has that ability in his game.

Huberdeau - Lindholm - Konecny
Mangiapane - Kadri - Sharangovich
Coleman - Dube - Coronato
Pelletier - Poulin - Duehr

05 Jul 2023 19:55:32
I think calgary waits, sanhiem is off the table so calgary has a top 4 on on some teams, top 2 on most, doubt . Do think if I understand noway calgary gets under the cap unless a trade in place for kadri.

Montreal trades: Harris, Farrell, 3rd round pick 2024, 5th Overall

Philly trades: Hart, 7th overall

Philly drafts smith at 5

Montreal drafts Leonard

Philly gets their stud Centre who fits with Gauthier and a few young pieces while Montreal gets a young goalie and only moves down 2 spots in the draft

28 Jun 2023 06:13:23
No. at 5 Habs could get Michkov. He is a generational talent.

28 Jun 2023 10:36:44
I’m guessing PHI wants more for Hart, and I’m fine if they get it elsewhere too since I’m not sold on the kid.

Finishing near the bottom is painful, and drafting high is the only tonic for that, so I’m not big on trading down either.

As for Michkov, whoever picks him has some stones, because Russia and Russians are a huge risk right now.

28 Jun 2023 19:48:32
I’m down-voting myself…I misread the proposal, and it’s WAY too much for Hart.

Young players and prospects are as much a numbers game as anything, so package deals have to be offered by teams in a different situation than MTL. You need lots of picks and prospects to be able to come up with the few that will rise above all others to become key pieces on a competitor.

Habs were wise to avoid Dubois, and while Hart may reach his lofty potential, I’d bet against it.

29 Jun 2023 04:58:26
After what I seen Montreal do at the draft tonight, I woulda done the Hart deal forsure.

30 Jun 2023 12:39:28
Hang in there Sosa, they did better than you think. MTL is going to ice a big, talented, and diverse D-corps to grow around.

I would have taken the risk on Michkov, but apparently he didn't want to play in MTL.

Potential 3-Way Trade Between (OTT, STL & PHI)

To Ottawa Senators :
RW - Travis Konecny ( 5.50 @ 2 UFA )

To St Louis Blues :
RW - Alex Debrincat ( RFA )

To Philadelphia Flyers :
TOR’s 25th Overall Selection in 2023 (1ST) - STL
DAL’s 29th Overall Selection in 2023 (1ST) - STL

Alex Debrincat (25 yrs)
27G 39A 66Pts

Travis Konecny (26 yrs)
31G 30A 61Pts

STL needs/wants scoring and holds the #10, #25, #29 picks in the first round. Debrincat wants to play in the US, Konecny is from Ontario and has two years left on his deal, Philadelphia is obviously shopping Konecny.

24 Jun 2023 12:34:49
If I were St. Louis, I would rather do a trade directly with Philly and give those 2 first round picks for Konecny. There is no reason to include Ottawa at all.

24 Jun 2023 13:52:02
Pretty even trade as flyers fan I like it.
Only question is does st. Louis want another 8 million plus contract?
Think they would rather have 5.5 x2 instead.
Simple 2 way trade philly/ stloius easier and cleaner.

24 Jun 2023 18:47:40
OTT will do better for Debrincat.

24 Jun 2023 19:58:44
I wonder if they will be able to cf. ADB has put Ottawa behind the eight ball. He has limited the number of teams he would sign with, and some of them have no cap room to pay him, so there only a couple of teams in the running. And when you add in the fact that he was -31 last year on a team which was +21 when he was not may limit his value further. I am thinking that Ottawa fans will be disappointed with the return.

23 Jun 2023 17:08:09
EDM - Yamamoto, Lavoie/ Wanner, 2024 1st
PHI - Tippet

Philly gets a 24 year old middle 6 forward that has proven he can produce in the past. Yamo’s season was a step back but he was dealing with a head injury all season. A B/ B- prospect and a 1st to try and even up the value.

23 Jun 2023 18:34:42
Owen Tippet isn't worth that. Konecny on the other hand I'd say could fetch that.

To be fair Tippet did almost crack 30G this year. But I still don't think he's worth that.

23 Jun 2023 19:14:48
Tippet only makes 1.5M for another season so that’s why he’d be the perfect target for the Oil. Drop the prospect maybe?

23 Jun 2023 21:30:55
Yamamoto and Lavoie offset each other. 1st for Tippet is likely a no from Philly but not awful.

24 Jun 2023 13:53:50
This will be a simple no by flyers.
Tippett is part of future may even score 40 this year.

25 Jun 2023 20:40:59
I don’t think Yamo has negative value. Proven over 250 games he’s about a 40 point guy, making 3M isn’t that bad. Buy low on him and he could turn it around and get you something good at the deadline.

25 Jun 2023 20:47:18
Only like 15-20 guys a year score 40. Tippet is 24 and hasn’t scored 30 yet. Next year will be his season to show if he’s a 40-50 point guy or 60+. I think scoring 40 is a stretch at this point. Maybe smarter for Philly to hold on to him another year but sounds like they want to sell off all there assets.

26 Jun 2023 00:20:16
Durzi was traded for a 2nd but no salary coming back, maybe a comparable.

22 Jun 2023 15:58:00
Philadelphia Trades
Konecny
Laughton
DeAngelo*

Toronto Trades
WNylander
Liljegren
Lafferty
NRobertson

*Flyers retain 2.5 million of DeAngelo's expiring contract (50%)

Toronto looking to shake up the culture and chemistry on the Team and a proposal like this does that, DeAngelo I will admit might be an issue but any problems that have happened in the past is because he is a passionate player and puts his all on the ice.

Flyers both retooling and rebuilding does both in this proposal, WNylander along with Lafferty is the retool and Liljegren and NRobertson would be a part of the rebuild.

Thoughts ?

22 Jun 2023 17:24:24
Don't want DeAngelo anywhere near the Leafs. Locker room cancer, publicity nightmare, the list goes on. Tonnes of players in the league who are passionate and put their all on the ice who have not said the things he has. Konecny and Laughton would be welcome additions to the team though if there was ever a way to get both of them.

22 Jun 2023 19:26:19
MG69
Ok so what has DeAngelo said that makes him a cancer on a Team?
Again I know he is a hothead etc. But he does bring something to a Team talent wise every Team looks at getting, and he only has one year left on his contract which means if he doesn't workout he can walk after next season or even trade him during the season, DeAngelo isn't the main players involved but if he keeps it under control Toronto has added a Top Offensive Defender on the blue line.

22 Jun 2023 19:29:41
I agree with what MG says, but I’ll add that there’s no surprise that the deal only suits the leafs without considering what a rebuilding team like PHI would need.

Nylander’s last year before becoming UFA isn’t valuable to a rebuilding team.

? Homer Trades.

22 Jun 2023 21:21:21
Pinball he was suspended a few times in juniors for uttering racial slurs at opponents and his own teammates. Yes that was years ago, but do you want that to be the topic of discussion after every single game for the Leafs because the Toronto media will absolutely destroy him for it and thus the publicity nightmare would begin. He also started a handful of fights and tension in the room while in New York. Great offensive dman not great defensively and his past will be nothing but a distraction. Like you said he's a hothead as well. Last thing the Leafs need is unwanted penalties at crucial times in the game.

Chickenfoot it depends. If they have the space and can retain 50% on him and if he's having a good year offensively they could get a haul at the deadline for him. A lot of ifs on that though so I don't seem them being interested really unless they want to be the ones who grossly overpay him with an extension lol.

22 Jun 2023 21:38:22
Why on earth would the flyers want Nylander.

I’d love DeAngelo tho he’s exactly what the leafs need. I’m sure the soft liberal Toronto fans would have a fit when someone with a little bit of personality joins the team. Unlike most of wimps out there today I think he’s strong enough to survive the media backlash.

23 Jun 2023 02:52:51
Why does a rebuilding team make that deal? Helps the Leafs in every way but you ignored the Flyers needs.

23 Jun 2023 11:13:31
pinball. changing the culture is probably what is needed. but the one they need to trade to do that is never in any proposal.

23 Jun 2023 14:46:59
MG that's wrong he didn't start fights his teammate did, he just didn't back down. Gerogiev also swung on him first and he fought back. The reason why people certain teammates have had issues with him is he calls out BS and isn't afraid to disagree.

23 Jun 2023 18:29:32
May be the case, but like I said it will be a distraction to the rest of the team. No doubt in my mind he could handle the media in Toronto, but ask yourself if the MLSE would wants the heat that would come with it. Media is awful everywhere and I based my post off the articles I read. I think he is a great offensive dmen, but I do ultimately think his past will be brought up so frequently throughout the season that it would end up being a distraction.

23 Jun 2023 21:27:11
Is that cancel culture? Lol let the guy play hockey. Usually GM’s ask around before making trades anyways so if he does get dealt I’m sure he had guys vouch for him.

24 Jun 2023 18:59:58
I wouldn’t take Deangelo for free.

EBS: I’m surprised you think cancel culture has anything to do with Deangelo. At the very least he is an obnoxious team mate that can’t get out of his own way. When teams terminate contracts with a player it’s a red flag. When you can’t stick with a franchise because your team mates say he goes or I go, it’s another red flag. When people suggest that a player like that is not getting treated fairly, or is a a victim of cancel culture, that’s also a red flag.

25 Jun 2023 20:34:05
I never heard anything about teammates saying he goes or they do. You don’t want him on your team because of some tweets and a fight with a teammate, that might have been caused by him or might not have been. Teammates fight all the time. Philly doesn’t care about team chemistry or do you just not know all the facts?

26 Jun 2023 14:49:35
Facts for EBS:

- Kreider and other leaders on NYR gave management the “he goes or we go” ultimatum.

- suspended by NYR for work ethic and team-related issues

- history of unfortunate social media use, including challenging one fan to fight in front of MSG before the team made him remove the posts.

- history of racist, misogynistic, and homophobic comments, including an 8-game suspension in Junior

- altercations with refs in Junior and NHL

- last but not least, the very fact he’s a talented player whose on his 4th team in 6 seasons seems to indicate to even the casual fan that despite his talent, he can’t seem to stick with a team.

You asked for facts and they’re not hard to find. His issues are well documented and aren’t a surprise to even a casual fan. You seem to know your hockey so I’m surprised any of this is a surprise to you?

27 Jun 2023 17:49:16
Again I’m not going to blindly believe the ultimatum by teammates thing. Biz is the most famous and loved hockey guy because of his insane Twitter. Lol I actually didn’t know about the Junior stuff so yeah not a good look but maybe he’s grown up since he was a teenager? Carolina is rumoured to be trading for him, it would be telling if a former team wants him back.

22 Jun 2023 15:28:38
Detroit trades: Cossa, Zadina, 3 second round picks 2023

Philly trades: Konecny, Hart

Yzerman wants to keep his firsts and has 3 2nd round picks in a row. Could see something like this happening

23 Jun 2023 17:05:01
Why would the Flyers trade the better goalie and player and get back a goalie prospect who might be good, and underperforming winger, and three 2nd rounders?

13 Jun 2023 20:47:52
Philadelphia Trades
Laughton
DeAngelo

Toronto Trades
NRobertson
Villeneuve (AHL)
28th Overall Pick 2023

Flyers are trying to move DeAngelo and they would have to add Laughton to rid themselves of this imo.

Leafs would have to make some more moves adding 8 million in Cap but Laughton would be Toronto's Sam Bennett, and even with the past issues with DeAngelo he as good offensively as Rielly is, and adding him would help on Defense.

Thoughts ?

13 Jun 2023 23:18:17
nope dont want deangelo, to many distractions going on around him.

14 Jun 2023 11:09:36
Although the trade looked pretty good to me I'm not sure The pressing need for the leaves is more offensive players.

15 Jun 2023 15:27:47
I’d love to bring in DeAngelo.

15 Jun 2023 17:10:52
DeAngelo is an absolute locker room cancer. Why would any team look at his history and want to add that garbage to their room & culture?
