If the Leafs decide to rebuild instead of retool or Matthews wants out:
To San Jose:
Auston Matthews, Morgan Reilly
To TML:
Michael Misa, #2 overall 2026, #20 overall 2026
Kickstarts the rebuild for Toronto and gives San Jose superstar center to go with Celebrini as well as some veteran depth for their blue line while they push for the playoffs and to get better moving forward.

3 way trade proposal.
Chicago Trades
Bertuzzi (San Jose)
San Jose Trades
Graff (Toronto)
Toronto Trades
Rielly (Chicago)
Thoughts?
05 May 2026 15:28:46
Reilly's contract and obvious declining play will be a hard sell for the Leafs to trade for a good return. This trade seems fair but will Chicago want Reilly?
21 Mar 2026 11:58:54
At the Draft.
San Jose trades.
Misa
Graff
SDickenson
1st Round Pick 2026
2nd Round Pick 2026 (Colorado's)
Toronto trades.
Matthews*
Carlo
3rd Round Pick 2026
5th Round Pick 2026 (Colorado's)
*Matthews will have to waive his NTC.
Thoughts?
21 Mar 2026 15:11:43
San Jose giving up all that to improve their 2C position? I doubt it, sounds a bit desperate to me ?
28 Jan 2026 16:36:07
Colorado:
B. McMann
Toronto:
2nd 2027
2nd 2028
San Jose:
W. Nylander
N. Robertson
Toronto:
M. Misa
S. Dickinson.
29 Jan 2026 06:31:10
I dont see McMann having value of 2 second round picks. the second trade seems ok. but moving these players doesn't solve your main issue. when you have a supposed leader showing up when he feels like it, you won't win.
29 Jan 2026 11:45:51
Nylander might be the only guy on the team that deserves to stay.
29 Jan 2026 16:36:16
Doubt Habs could get him, but id like McMann on 4th line.. like his grit.
31 Jan 2026 22:03:38
Why would San Jose do that?
06 Feb 2026 18:40:19
More generous leaf trades from the pretend MTL fan.
08 Feb 2026 15:17:12
McMann could fetch that potentially. His cap hit is low, he can play up and down the lineup (mind you I would keep him on your 2nd, 3rd, or 4th line), hes quick, scores in bunches (but streaky) . We will see what the market is at after the olympic break.
02 Jan 2026 03:28:46
If leafs are out of it by the deadline. Just blow it up now.
Leafs - Mathews
Sharks - Misa, Dickinson, 1st and a cap dump.
02 Jan 2026 15:21:04
San Jose has no interest in destroying its rebuild.
02 Jan 2026 17:08:00
For just over 2 years of Matthews?
03 Jan 2026 21:54:51
Sharks already have a better franchise player in Celebrini. I see him in that State, just wearing Kings colors.
22 Sep 2025 17:34:23
Sharks Trade
Toffoli
Leafs Trade
Domi
McMann
Kampf
Any player with a NTC/NMC will have to waive to complete this trade proposal.
Leafs get a very serviceable RWinger to replace Marner, as well as downsize the forwards currently on the roster as there are too many, Leafs add 1.5 million in this proposal for more Cap Space.
Sharks a team looking to add some veterans to this young very talented group they are building, this 3 for 1 adds much needed depth as well.
Thoughts ?
24 Sep 2025 14:05:18
- Toffoli is a 30 goal scorer in each of the last 3 years, so he’s definitely better than serviceable.
- by all accounts he’s been a great vet in SJ, and has really taken to his role. He seems to enjoy it there, and if he’s going to waive, it would only be to go to a team with a legitimate shot at a Cup.
- SJ is looking to play more kids. Why would they want to block 3 development paths like this? Also, where’s the picks or prospects any rebuilding team needs to have?
- Quantity ≠ Quality, and it never will.
11 Jul 2025 14:38:24
SJ: Laine
MTL: 5th (2028 - Conditional)
- SJ adds 20-30 Goals to their lineup for a chance to see if Laine is worth re-signing next summer.
- Habs clear 8.7M in cap space to get under the cap and to facilitate their next move.
- the conditions for the pick are set at something unlikely to happen, like a 50G season, so that SJ basically gets the asset for nothing other than the cap hit, which they need to reach the floor regardless.
- MTL can't put Laine & Dach on the same line for defensive reasons, and this opens another top-6 roster slot for an expected 2C that shoots left.
28 Jun 2025 00:09:35
Montréal has to call Florida and acquire Lundell!! Adding him would catapult habs into contention for years to come! That’s exactly what Hugo said they’d do!
MTL offers : matheson 50% retained, Logan Mailloux, 2nd round and 3rd
To panthers for : Lundell
Or : matheson 50% retained or Mailloux and top 5 protected 2026 1st round
For lundell
Habs would then trade price to sharks
This leaves habs with plenty of money to resign Hutson and demidov to long term extensions
2026 lineup
Slavkosky Suzuki caufield
Demidov lundell Laine
Newhook dach Gallagher
Anderson evans Florian or ufa corey Perry

I don’t see FLA giving up a piece of their present two-time Cup winning team for Matheson + futures.
When you’re at the top you’re not thinking about building, you’re thinking about staying where you’re at.
FLA will go hard at repeating and they have an excellent shot at achieving something special IMHO.
23 May 2025 23:20:11
My very Flames-favoured offseason (feel free to cook me)
Draft Weekend:
To CGY: 2nd overall
To SJ: Connor Zary, Rasmus Andersson, Sam Honzek/Aydar Suniev, Henry Mews
To CGY: 13th overall, 75th overall
To DET: Blake Coleman (50% retained for 2 seasons), FLA 1st (29-32), Daniil Miromanov
Calgary Drafts:
2 - Micheal Misa/Matthew Schaefer
13 - Brady Martin/Jake Obrien
18 - Braeden Cootes/Roger McQueen
54 - Eric Nilson/Cole McKinney/Will Horcoff
75 & 80 - Theo Stockselius/Philip Veilleux/Filip Ekberg/Peyton Kettles/Haoxi Wang
July 1st:
To CGY: Marco Rossi
To MIN: Nazem Kadri
(This deal doesn't NEED to happen if Calgary gets misa + Martin but that's unlikely to happen)
CGY signs Rossi to 7x7
Sign Vlad Gavrikov 7m x 3 years to play with Parekh (or with Weegar if Bahl is better with Parekh)
Resign Vladar or go sign Jake Allen if you don't trust Devin Cooley.
Extend Bahl (RFA) to 5m x 7-8 years
Extend Wolf (RFA) to 8-9m x 8 years
Sign Frost to 2-3 years at most. $ doesn't matter for that contract (call it between 3.5-5m).
Roll into opening night with:
Huberdeau-Rossi-Coronato
Sharangovich-Frost-Pospisil
Stromgren-Backlund-Farabee
Lomberg-Kirkland-Klapka
Gavrikov-Weegar
Bahl-Parekh
Kuznetsov-Pachal
Bean
Wolf
Vladar
The hope is this roster is dog water and lands us Mckenna, Stennberg, or Rooboreck.
Enter 2026 with
Mckenna-Rossi-Coronato
Sharangovich-Misa-Gridin
Huberdeau-Frost-Farabee
Stromgren-Pospisil-Klapka
24 May 2025 19:54:08
That is very busy. If they could pull that all off they would be set for future.
26 May 2025 19:23:14
Great thoughts. I feel you are selling low on Anderson. Anderson (with 50% retained and then an extension with the new team), Honzek and Mews should get you the 2025 second.
Instead of the Detroit trade I would take the same Calgary players and make the trade with Minnesota for Rossi.
This should put us near a McKenna draft position since Wolf is going to have an off year.
15 May 2025 22:12:43
Sharks trade 2nd overall and Quentin Musty to NYI for 1st overall and 3rd rounder.
SJ gets a top dman which they need
The Isles get their pick of Misa or Hagens plus another good prospect in Musty.
13 May 2025 22:41:35
I think Calgary should try for 2 overall pick from the San Jose Sharks.
to Sharks:
Kirill Zarubin
Étienne Morin
18th and 22nd pick this year
to Calgary:
2nd and 33rd pick this year
14 May 2025 01:23:57
I can't see that being of any interest to San Jose. If you want a high value piece you need to offer a high value piece.
Teams prefer the dollar player over 4 quarter players.
14 May 2025 15:28:06
I think the #1 pick could be in play. The #2 isn't.
15 May 2025 12:31:28
@Henklin it would make sense to seen a drop from 1 to 3 so the islanders can draft Hagens who is a hometown boy.
07 May 2025 03:10:23
Just circling back to what sharks gm said about trading the first overall in this draft ( now he’s got second) : if a gm offers a similar package as the Ricky Williams (nfl) draft trade package, he would think about it .
MTL sends : 16oa , 17oa, and both second round picks
To sharks for ; 2nd overall and draft misa
08 May 2025 20:55:56
Who is at the top of the draft that you feel so strongly that you need to trade 4 assets for one?
09 May 2025 04:42:36
I wouldnt do that if I was Hughes.
There will be really good choices for Hughes at 16, 17 if he keep the picks.. or he goes for an established player.
10 May 2025 23:38:58
Miss projects to be a star. Outside of the top 2 there is a big drop to Hagens/ Matrone.
Not close for Misa.

LesHabitants…the guy that pretends to be a Hab fan, but posts only leaf-friendly deals. You can’t make this stuff up folks! ?
SJ and CAR hang up, but first they encourage you to embrace your leaf fandom and tell the world loudly and proudly, that you are a leaf fan. (It’s okay, some of my best friends are leaf fans?)
14 Jan 2025 00:11:10
Toronto:
Mikael Granlund C
Nico Sturm C
San Jose:
Nicholas Robertson RW
Roni Hirvonen C
Braeden Kressler C

14 Jan 2025 13:52:14
Granlund is going to cost a lot. Most people dot realize how sought out he’s going to be at the deadline.
14 Jan 2025 15:39:31
"Les Habitants" always makes me laugh with his MTL sounding name, and 100% leaf-friendly trades.
This is like a Pinball trade, and hiding who you really cheer for is a fool's errand: only one team wins the Cup each year, so why hide who you cheer for?
SJ hangs up on "Les leafs".
16 Jan 2025 12:55:03
I like the idea of going after Granlund, but it would cost us more than that. He's having a really good year for SJ and is going to get them a good return if they choose to deal him.
21 Nov 2024 19:10:22
3 Team Trade Proposal.
Anaheim
Acquires NRobertson from The Leafs in exchange for Retains 50% of Granlund's expiring Contract
San Jose
Acquires Kampf and The Leafs 2026 1st Round Pick.
Toronto
Acquires Granlund from The Sharks.
Thoughts ?
21 Nov 2024 22:15:23
- SJ gets a 1st for taking on the Kampf deal. (This is proper compensation, kudos?)
- if I’m reading your post correctly, ANA gets Robertson, but no compensation for retaining 50% of the Granlund contract? (Leafs add a decent pick or ANA declines to be involved in helping the leafs with their salary cap issues. )
- SJ would accept the 1sr for the cost of taking on Kampf’s 3 years @ 2.4M/ season, but where is the trade asset for Granlund and his expiring contract?
You have the start of a fair trade, but additional assets would be required by ANA & SJ. It is incomplete as-is.
22 Nov 2024 01:08:01
Chickenfoot
Anaheim gets NRobertson for retaining 2.5 million of Granlund's expiring Contract.
22 Nov 2024 16:07:34
Pinball this trade only really benefits the Leafs. They have to give up a better player than Robertson but you would never include any player that a team would actually want in any of your always proLeaf trade proposals.
Still you're always entertaining.
23 Nov 2024 01:53:57
Robertson is a contract, not an asset. He’ll be lucky to play in the NHL next year. He is not compensation, he is not positive value. That’s why he’s in most of your trades.
27 Oct 2024 14:29:48
Sharks Trade
Kunin
3rd Round Pick 2025*
Leafs Trade
NRobertson
Kampf
Liljegren
*SJ will decide which of the four 3rd Round Picks in 2025 Toronto receives.
Once DeWar and Hakanpaa are activated Toronto will need to both get under the cap and be able to fit a full 23 man roster, Kunin gives them a better third line winger than NRobertson gives them.
SJ in a full rebuild will be making deals like this for their future and it's something I believe helps them more than keeping Kunin.
Thoughts ?
28 Oct 2024 03:34:27
So the leafs get to dump 3 contracts worth 14M+ for a player that SJ resigned to a 1-year contract of 2.75M…and SJ is the team adding a sweetener?
Seriously?
A rebuilding team like SJ takea on bad contracts because they’re incentivized to do so with picks or prospects. They don’t do it to help teams who have mismanaged their cap.
This is intro hockey 101 kind of stuff. Even a casual fan would get why this is a one-sided trade that would never happen.
28 Oct 2024 11:15:50
Chickenfoot
NRobertson and Liljegren are the sweetners, SJ have a ton of picks and prospects already going forward, adding 2 players like that is a positive move not what you paint it as.
28 Oct 2024 14:06:09
if 2 players "like that" are incentives, why get rid of them?
28 Oct 2024 15:07:56
balsam8
Cap plus Liljegren doesn't fit into The Leafs defense anymore.
That's why.
29 Oct 2024 02:11:21
Wow…. the problems/ recurring trade subjects are the sweeteners.
I think I’ll just let that soak in….
30 Oct 2024 22:55:23
???? no more liljegren crap trade rumours.
30 Oct 2024 23:36:02
Replace Kunin with Benning.
Now take out Robertson and Kampf.
Now you can see what an NHL trade looks like. If the Leafs had you for their GM they would have been fleeced by San Jose today.
12 Nov 2024 02:39:24
In the man’s defense, you cannot make a leaf trade on a forum without absolutely being fleeced or else everyone would call you a delusional leaf fan and ask you to give your head a shake… come on, we have all been here.
15 Oct 2024 15:15:54
I have a 3 team trade proposal.
Anaheim Trades
Leason - (Tor)
Nesterenko(AHL) - (SJ)
San Jose Trades
Granlund - (Ana/Tor)*
3rd Round Pick 2025 - (Tor)
Toronto Trades
Kampf - (SJ)
Jarnkrok - (Ana)
Liljegren - (SJ)
1st Round Pick 2026 - (Ana)
*Ana will retain 50% of Granlund's expiring contract.
Trade Breakdown.
Anaheim
Leason/Nesterenko
-Jarnkrok/1st Round Pick 2026
San Jose
Granlund/3rd Round Pick 2025
-Kampf/Liljegren/Nesterenko
Toronto
Kampf/Jarnkrok/Liljegren/1st Round Pick 2026
-Granlund/Leason/3rd Round Pick 2025
Thoughts ?
16 Oct 2024 02:16:24
Wow…another trade that tries to offload the Kampf and Lilly contracts? I just never saw THAT coming! ?.
16 Oct 2024 12:30:25
Chickenfoot
Do you think Kampf and Liljegren aren't NHL Players?
Curious as you always put them as castoffs to other teams.
16 Oct 2024 18:44:33
Kampf and Lilly are overpaid for what they bring. You’re not trading either without retaining salary or offering up sweeteners. A player who isn’t worth their cap hit is tough to move in the cap era. That’s just the way it is.
17 Oct 2024 13:38:32
Only pinball could cast off Kampf in every trade he makes and then gaslight someone else and ask "why do you think of him as just a cast off? "
Seriously though, why do you hate Kampf so much Pinball?
18 Oct 2024 01:24:00
Amen, DrwDave for reminding us of what hockey sense reads like?.
08 Oct 2024 22:43:42
Sharks Trade
Granlund
Leafs Trade
Kampf*
Liljegren
*Kampf will have to waive his NTC if SJ is not on his list.
Cap Wise is basically a wash with this proposal, yes once Jarnkrok, DeWar and Hakanpaa are ready to be activated there will be more moves, but for the now it truly gives Toronto 4 solid Lines imo.
Thoughts ?
09 Oct 2024 00:11:50
Whats wrong with Kampf? Why is he included in every single trade you come up with?
If this isn't a cap saving move then it means you think Kampf isn't good enough to hold his own as a PK specialist.
If it will cost Toronto Liljegren just to attract a team into taking Kampf, wouldn't it be easier to just hold onto him and see how the season starts out?
Since the Leafs haven't even played a single game this season nevermind played one with the lines they want to roll, how can you say this move gives them 4 solid lines?
Overall thoughts, you once again forgot that the Leafs are forward heavy and don't need a scoring forward if it's going to cost them a PK specialist and a right handed defenseman.
09 Oct 2024 12:28:13
DrwDave
Holmberg, Lorentz, McMann, and DeWar once he is healthy that easily replaces Kampf is why, they still need to make moves at the bottom forward position once Jarnkrok is also healthy.
Liljegren is a depth Defenceman for Berube and again once Hakanpaa is healthy there are too many Defencemen keeping Liljegren.
Granlund gives Toronto 3 Solid Centers in my proposal.
20 Oct 2024 14:59:25
Liljegren worth a 3rd 4th. Kampf worth almost nothing due to his salary. Toronto can't trade a couple barely nhl players for a good nhler.
03 Oct 2024 13:56:08
Leafs Reade Kampf, 50% retained to CBJ for a 7th round pick in 2029.
Leafs trade Lillj3gren to Sharks for a 5th in 2028
Leafs trade Robertson to Ducks for a 4th in 2027.
04 Oct 2024 18:00:45
These look fair to me?.
