Sign Vlad Gavrikov 7m x 3 years to play with Parekh (or with Weegar if Bahl is better with Parekh)

Resign Vladar or go sign Jake Allen if you don't trust Devin Cooley.

Extend Bahl (RFA) to 5m x 7-8 years
Extend Wolf (RFA) to 8-9m x 8 years
Sign Frost to 2-3 years at most. $ doesn't matter for that contract (call it between 3.5-5m).

Great thoughts. I feel you are selling low on Anderson. Anderson (with 50% retained and then an extension with the new team), Honzek and Mews should get you the 2025 second.

Instead of the Detroit trade I would take the same Calgary players and make the trade with Minnesota for Rossi.

This should put us near a McKenna draft position since Wolf is going to have an off year.

Buccigross that crosby would only waive to play for mtl, if it happens,mtl would have a bit of leverage for that trade.

The Crosby To Montreal is a great idea for.... Habs fans. However it's more than likely not gonna happen

Also, I believe the Gorton/Hughes idea is to make the Habs a power team for years , not just potentially a couple of years. I don't see them sending that many young peices and draft capital for guys that are still great, but pushing 40 and in the twilight of their careers..

I also believe they will resign Marner and Tavares and also go hard on signing Marchand and Bennett as character players are lacking on The Leafs imo.

- The fact you think the leafs would even consider re-signing Marner, or that he'd want to re-sign there, shows what you know about even your favourite team.

- The fact that you think the leafs would have the cap space (or the interest) to re-sign Marner & Tavares, and somehow magically sign Bennett & Marchand, shows what you know about the business of hockey.

- The fact you continue to post garbage trade after garbage trade, despite years of feedback saying your trades are absolutely beyond the realm of possibility, shows that you're incapable of intaking information and adjusting.

I have to hand it to you leaf fans. you're the most patient fanbase on the planet. The most overhyped rebuild in hockey yielded two series wins in almost a decade and the most embarrasing Game 7 record in hockey. I honestly don't know how you cheer for a team like that.

Nice of the NHL to let us not have a salary cap in your trade and signing scenario. Only way that would be even remotely possible.

We're only going to be able to keep a combo of 2/ 3 of Marner, Tavares, and Knies. My hope is we keep Knies and maybe Tavares if the deal is low enough. We can't afford to pay three guys north of $11mill and fill the rest of the team with 'meh' players. If we want to do any sort of damage in the playoffs our team needs to score by committee and that only happens if you have a deeper, well rounded team.

Ideally we get Knies signed to a Slaf like deal, ideally less would be even better. We move Jarnkrok and Kampf for late draft picks to teams trying to hit the cap floor. Time for some of these AHL guys to get a legitimate look. Leaves the Leafs around around $17mill roughly I believe. Can look to add maybe a bigger name like Boeser, Ehlers, Ekbald under $10mill. Then go after some better depth like Fredric, Granlund, Tanev, etc. Won't be able to sign em all but we'd be a much deeper team going forward if we could add a few of them.

Going to be an interesting off-season.

Anyway.. I think Marner is done in Toronto, I could see Tavares taking a home town discount to stay in Toronto, to retire a Leaf. Bennett to Toronto also sounds realistic, id personally not like that as a Habs fan.
I dont know what it is about the Leafs, but they just don't seem to have any heart..It seems like a bad character team, and they should consider blowing it up and starting over.

@Sosahabs24! the issue is they don't have a genuine drag you through the mud leader that's won on the roster. You need that kind of player to do well, especially when you're in the guts of the game. Bennett checks that bill, but I don't think he leaves Florida. I think Marner is gone. Seems like he's ready for a fresh start and I think the Leafs are as well. The realization that we can't pay three guys north of $10mill and build an effective roster has hopefully sunk in. Tavares brought back on a cheap deal would be alright. 30+ goal scorer, good on the dot, battles hard. His foot speed is an issue obviously tho.

To me, Beck should somewhat be considered untouchable. The kid is gonna be a tremendous leader as well as great penalty killer and 3rd line center man for potentially 10 years. He will be the type of guy that you win playoff series with.
He might not be flashy, and won't score 30 or 40 goals, but he will do the little things that don't get noticed on a stats sheet.

Not sure what the Habs cap situation is looking like, but Ekbald would be a great add for them on the backend. These playoffs he's really come into his own. Reminds me of Pietro as of late. Gives them the option to deal less assets to go after a 2nd line center 💁‍♂️.

- seems like a huge overpay for Lafrenière, who took a big step back this season.

- Horvat is a great target for MTL, but the Isles would likely want a better prospect than Joshua Roy, who I just don’t see developing into an every-day NHL player.

- Andersson is very good, but MTL would be better off graduating Mailloux or Reinbacher. If neither is ready, a trade for someone with more term than one year would undoubtedly be favoured.

I'm thinking for Horvat the Habs would probably have to offer up Micheal Hage , which I wouldnt be comfortable doing, however to get these type of players, ya need to give up something as well.

Id like to see Lafrenier be added, however, I don't know what that looks like atm..

Have the management given up on Dach as the 2nd line guy?? I'm torn on this. I dont think I'm quite ready yet. However his injury history is obviously worrisome..

I haven’t given up on Dach yet . Tage Thompson is a hopeful comparison, he started coming into his own at age 24, that’s where Dach is now, but I think for this year he’s better suited for the 3c role.
